Chapter Thirty

Morris balked at him as she took it all in. She was the actual PeaceKeeper all along. Maybe that is why she wasn't dead yet.

"I-I'm the r-real one?"

"Yes you are, and I've waited centuries for you." He said as he released her chin and stood.

"How do you know?"

"I know because I was lurking in the shadows the day they created you from dust and ash. I was there the day they placed the bone of my daughter into you. I was there when the Speller transferred you into Tryna's womb."

"That's a little creepy." He continued on, ignoring her comment.

"I stayed on for as many months as she was pregnant. I made it my duty to watch over her, the house and you. I've been watching you grow and mature. I've always been one step ahead.

"So did you tell the queen to name me peacekeeper?"

"I did. And I made that little girl fall, and I made sure you were going that way so that you'd hear it."

"You really are something you know that. All this time you were planning, conniving, waiting for me to come of age. But what if your plan had failed?

"Then I would have kidnapped you and raised you to be all you could be."

"What does that mean?"

"It means I would have started the process already." He said going toward her. She began to panic

"Process what process!?"

"You will see soon enough. Unlock her." Yenda melted her chains but before she got away, Alexander grabbed her by the arm, a black wispy tendril went out and unlocked the door he pushed it open and dragged her up some steps.

"Help! Help!" She called out frantically. A black wispy hand went over her mouth and muffled her voice. She started to hyperventilate, she didn't know where she was going or what was going to happen. What did he mean by process? Entering a room with no window's only stone walls, she was thrown to the floor.

"Go get the Speller."

"Yes sir." Yenda said bowing. He walked out. Alexander had stayed over her so that she wouldn't move. He now dragged her by the arm to a set of chains on the floor. He grabbed each wrist roughly as he put them on her. She glared at him, her eyes filled with hatred.

"You are such a monster!" She said as she raised her head

"You may think that but I am only trying to engage the power inside you." He said as he went to the table where something was covered by a cloth

"What's that"

"This Morris is the one thing that will help you." He took off the cloth with flair. Her eyes widened as she took in the rose

"The eighth rose." She said breathlessly

"Yes, you are right." He said with a nod of his head

"Before you do what you're going to do, did my mother know I was the peacekeeper?"

"Yes."

"Are you lying?" She asked in disbelief

"No I'm not. You see after I broke the kingdom in three. I made it so that people with magic could only have babies with magic. Therefore if Tryna had been normal, she would have died because you would be too powerful for her."

"So she was holding me captive for sixteen years?"

"In a way yes but no. After I told her who you were she used her magic to suppress yours. Then she ran away with you to the first kingdom."

"Why?"

"She didn't want me to have control of more power. So she hid you, unfortunately though, I found you, so I guess her magic failed."

"Are you going to do something to her?" Alexander tapped his chin

"I don't know yet." The door opened and Yenda walked in with an old man in red and brown silks. He had a bald head with small brown eyes. A grin was on his lips

"Ah there she is! The true beauty." He walked towards her to cup her chin but Morris turned away from him

"Don't!"

"Feisty ain't she?" He said with a wet cackle.

"She is. But that will only enhance the power."

"Well then let's get started." The man said, rubbing his hands together. Two guards came in and went to Morris kneeling in front of her. They tore off the sleeves of her dress as a heart render touched her heart to keep her calm. When they were done The speller came and laid the stem of the rose which was cut in half onto her outstretched arms. Then Alexander kneeled down before her on one knee, he took off his Kefta and shirt. Morris saw more than just toned muscles, she saw white scars criss crossing his chest and shoulders. He also had some on his back from the years of transferring. Alexander took her hands in his and stared into her eyes as he bent down a little. The Speller placed a rose onto his back and then he began to speak words in a foreign language. Slowly the heart render backed away and Morris looked about frantically.

"No! No! No! Please no!" She said as she tried to get out of Alexander's grip. A light of black, blue and purple radiated around them as the man got louder and louder. Alexander let go and the light began to fade.

"Is it done?"

"Yes. Give it time." Morris watched them with wild eyes. Looking down she saw that the stems of the rose had disappeared into her arms. As for the rose, it had implanted itself into His back. Black lines stemmed out from it in zig zaggy lines across his shoulders down his spine rippling out like tree branches. Suddenly, excruciating pain sliced through Morris's tendons. She screamed out as green lines formed on her arms, from the wrist upward. Tiny holes appeared as tiny white points emerged.

What's happening?" She shouted frantically as she clenched her hands

"It's all part of the process. Trust it." Alexander said as they watched from afar. Her arms began to bleed and soon the pain became too much, she collapsed to the ground.

"Sir?"

"What Yenda?"

"When she awakes, what will she be?" Alexander laughed and raised an eyebrow as he folded his arms

"When she awakes, she will be..."
