Chapter 5 - Moving Through

She had asked her driver to drop him home, since he felt better. His wounds were plastered and her continuous apologies in her ever so serene voice made the healing even more easy for him.

Once he reached home, he was again caged in his insecurities. A little time that he spent with her evoked a feeling of forever in his heart. And now, back in this hell, it made it all worse for him.

Again, the same face of his wife. Ugh! He hated admitting that. His wife. Or probably his forced wife. Since Zoya entered his life, he had began hating Pooja. Nevertheless, he had a soft corner for her once back then when he didn't meet Zoya. But may be, this was how things were meant to be.

He bumped into Harsh, and he went all worried seeing his condition. He kept on asking about what happened but he simply replied,"I am fine. Just a minor accident."

"How come you met with an accident? Weren't you focused?" Harsh was angered.

"Pa. I am alright. I was just walking through the road when a car hit me. I went straight to the hospital myself and got these small bandages." He clarified. He knew he lied again. He had started lying for every small thing. Oh, his life was such a mess.

"Where did the money come from?" He heard Pooja asking as she came into the living room.

Okay. So this lady is hell bent on doubting him. She is worried about money! Not him.

"Really? Are we that poor? I am sorry Pooja. But let me tell you. I earn RS 10,000 per month. I can eat three times a day sufficiently. I am thankful for that. I can afford my bandages too!" He was now angry not because Pooja didn't ask about his well being. But because he was trying to believe that he should be thankful to God for whatever he had but this woman was hell bent on making him believe differently.

"I didn't mean it Adi. I was just asking if someone helped you. I could just go and thank the person. You took me wrong." She tried to clarify. Indeed, she didn't mean it that way.
"Oh really? Your generosity! Your thankfulness!" He blabbered and ran to their room.

"I am sorry Pooja. He is just.." Harsh tried to apologise but she cut him in between,"No. It's okay. I know him. We just had an argument before as well. He is mad for that. I will make it up. Don't worry." She smiled and went to the room.

"Adi. Adi." She called out.

"I am sorry." She held her ears, pouting, as she saw him sitting near the window.

He turned his face away. She moved to that side again.

"Please." She pouted again but he had no time to notice anything. He wasn't melting for her cute gestures. He didn't love her at all.

And just to finish it all, he spoke," It's okay. I want to sleep."

She cheerfully smiled and covered him with the blanket, kissing his nose. He flinched a bit, but composed himself soon.

Zoya's P.O.V:-

I felt something I couldn't name when I felt him near me. He was doing wonders to me. No matter how hard I tried to just avoid him, he gave me the feeling no one could. I met for the first time, but it gave me a feeling of forever. But there was something in his eyes, a deep pain.

I wanted to be his sunshine. I wanted to erase his scars. I wanted to be the one for him. For that I had to meet him. But I didn't even ask for his contact number. Poor me. I had no other option than to forget him. He was just another random person who walked in and out of my life in a blink of an eye.

Amidst my thoughts, I heard the phone ringing. A smile appeared  on my face as I saw the caller's name.

"Pooooooooooo! How are you?" I immediately cheered.

"Perfect Zo! You?" She asked.

"I am in a mess." I reported, resting on the couch.

"Why?" She casually asked.

"I met someone yesterday. I hit him with my car." I told, pulling my legs up.

"Uh oh. Oh yes! Even Adi met with a minor accident." She told me and I just asked if he was fine. I was least interested in her husband.

"That man has evoked something in my heart. Something I cannot name. Something that isn't just attraction." I spoke, fidgeting with my fingers.

"Something that is love may be." Pooja smiled.

"Uffo stupid. You are such an idiot! How can someone fall in love just in a day? Or precisely an hour?" I thought I made sense, but love at a sight, just at a look was possible.

"It's not impossible." Pooja was determined.

"It's not possible either." I insisted, yawning.

"I want to fall in love with him. I really want to be his girl. I feel like he can give me a forever." I continued, my unending dreams were not afraid.

"Then meet him. Start talking to him. Spend time with him. You will fall for him." Pooja said, smilingly.

I hummed in response.

"Oh my God! The famous Singer Zoya Siddiqui finds her prince charming, the man of her dreams! We are eager to know who he is." Pooja turned dramatic.

"Oh no! He is fantastic. But as I said, I am yet to love him. That's not easy. But I will try." I nervously smiled.

"Haye! My love struck cutie!" Pooja urged to pull her cheeks.

"Over!" I rolled my eyes.

"Name? What is his name?" Pooja asked, curiously.

"Rohan. Oh same as your husband. I didn't notice! Rohan Hooda.!" I cheered.

"Wow! That's cool. Rohan!"

"Acha let me dream now! Bye." I abruptly spoke, shocking Pooja. But then she knew my oh so famous habit of ending things abruptly.

"Ohkayyy Madam! Sweet Rohan Dreams." Pooja teased and I  smiled.

I was happy. Happy for no reason. I had to find him, it was task. But somewhere, my mind told me that I will be able to. I was at peace. What I felt was undescribable. I just wanted to dance in joy.

And there stood her destiny, laughing at her!
