The Trolls
Thorin's P.O.V.

We set off again the next day. That girl, it's unnerving how much she is like Spark. She just, I don't know, but it is bothering me, not knowing who she is.
The only reason I was leaning on her bedroom door yesterday morning, was because I was hoping that maybe she was one of those people who talk to themselves. That plan, however, fails.

I had a feeling that it would be a very, very long day. I kept looking behind me at Fili and Kili, because I wanted to know if Kili kept his promise. He nodded ar so I assume that means he did.
I got used to the feeling that someone was watching me, because every time I looked around, Thorin was always looking at me with that look.
When we finally did stop, Thorin and Gandalf got into a fight over whether to stop or not. See, the Thorin I knew would have kept moving, just because Gandalf said so. He had way too much responsibility thrown at him with Thror's death.
We were finally eating when Fili and Kili came running to us.
"Trolls! Trolls got Bilbo and some of the ponies!"
"Everyone, get your weapons." commanded Thorin
When we got to where the trolls were, Kili ran forward, trying to immatate Thorin's commanding tone, saying, "Drop him!!"
I thought it was nice how much Kili looked up to his uncle, and then I realized that it was probably not right to make Kili keep such a major secret from the person he looks up to most.
Just then, the troll holding Bilbo threw him at Kili, knocking them both over. Then the rest of use charged in, according to the plan.
Although, the caught me ten minutes later, but only after I gave one of them a nasty cut above the eye, and another was missing most of a leg.
"Stop or we'll throw the girl in the fire! Lay down your weapons." a troll yelled through the battle.
Thorin fought a battle in his mind for a moment.

This girl was really starting to get on my nerves! Captured by the trolls already? I have to admit, she's handy with a sword, but still! I threw my sword down angrily, and the rest set their swords down easily. Kili on the otherhand, threw his bow and quiver down so hard, that I expected it to snap. I think he was growing attached to this girl. I just wish I knew who she was and if she knew Spark. I really should have told her what my look meant and how I felt when I had the chance, because now she was probably dead.
We were all thrown in bags, except for Shinia. They were trying to figure out what she was. what amazed me was the fact that she couldn't feel pain. When they asked her what she was, she gave them riddles, distracting them 'till the sun came up. Genius really. I really wish she was Spark. I miss her a lot.
When the sun finally came and the trolls were turned to stone, we went looking for a cave. The trolls had quite a collection. I found three decent swords, just to find they were elven blades. Oh well. I got one, Gandalf took one, and Shinia took one. Then I found something that unnerved me. Shinia saw it too and her face went white.

It can't be! I lost that years ago! It was a necklace, and Thorin had given me it for my birthday two weeks before Smaug came. It had a solid gold chain, and ruby, an emerald, a sapphire, a dimond, and a silvert locket with his name engraved on one side, and on the other was mine. He made it himself, and as I thought about it, it brought back the memory of the day it happened.
***Flashback***
It was the moring of my birthday, and I was still asleep.
"Spark! Time to get up!" Thorin yelled from outside the door.
"You never wake me up any other day, and you're never up before me. Why today of all days?"
"Because I have something to show you." Now he was in my room, and he wasn't supposed to be.
"Thr-" I started to call, planning on getting Thorin in trouble.
"Don't! They're both still sleeping. They don't know about this."
"Fine, fine." I muttered, actually getting up to change. I shooed him out so I could get ready for the day.
When I walked out of my room, Thorin was sitting on the floor, waiting.
He took my hand and led me outside, holding a small package. He led me somewhere in the forest I had never been. (That's a pretty hard thing to do.)
When we stepped into a small clearing, I asked, "Thorin, why are we here?"
"You'll see. Happy birthday by the way."
"Thank you."
We both sat on a rock that was close to the middle of the clearing. He handed me the package I saw earlier, and told me to open it. When I unwrapped it, I found the most beautiful necklace in the world. It had a solid gold chain, and ruby, an emerald, a sapphire, a dimond, and a silvert locket with his name engraved on one side, and on the other was mine.
"I made it myself." he said suddenly.
I embraced him in a tight hug, and whispered, "Thank you so much. It's perfect."
"You're welcome, " he replied softly.
When I stood up to go back home to get breakfast, so did Thorin.
What surprised me, was when he kissed me before we left the clearing. Why, I don't know, but I kissed him back. When we broke apart both of us were looking at the other with a surprised look, then we both turned red and were silent for the entire walk home.
We got in the dining room for breakfast, and Thrain asked, "Where have you two been? We were waiting, but we have other things to do so we can't take forever."
"You guys can go if you want. We aren't children any more, father." Thorin said.
"Are you sure?" Thrain asked, looking right at me.
"We are responsible enough to eat by ourselves Thrain." I laughed.
Thror walked out and Thrain was standing in the doorway when he said, " And I saw that by the way." We both turned red again, and instead of sitting side by side, we sat on opposite sides of the table.
***End of Flashback***
When I met eyes with Thorin, I saw a new sadness in him. He thinks I'm dead! Like, not Shinia, but Spark, the real me! I'm going to have to tell him soon.
