Kidnapped- Prinxiety, Part 3
TW: kidnapping, abuse, blood, suggested sexual abuse, Deceit, police
"Hello, Virgil." Devon said.
He came in and shut the door, looking wary.
"Who were you talking to?" he asked.
Virgil's voice shook. "M-myself." he said, "I-I talk t-to myself w-w-when I have an-anxiety attacks."
"Very well." Devon shrugged, not looking at all phased that Virgil was having a breakdown in front of him.
"Virgil, I feel that we need to reach some sort of an agreement." Devon said, scratching the back of his neck.
"If we're going to make this work then we need to have rules, non-negotiable's." He yawned widely.
"Rule number one, you do as I say."
"I'll do as you say when Hell freezes over." Virgil muttered, beginning to calm down.
"Rule number two, you will contact no one without my knowledge."
"Did I listen to you last time?"
"Rule number three, try to be silent, okay?"
"Funny, you didn't seem to mind before."
"Rule number four, if you do insist on speaking, then at least keep it respectful."
Virgil sneered, "Like you deserve respect."
Quick as anything, Devon whipped around and hit Virgil in the face, causing him to yell in pain. His nose had broken, and hot blood poured from both nostrils.
Devon grabbed his hair and pulled their faces close together, until they were eye to eye.
"As long as we're together you will treat me with respect, you will not contact anyone without my knowledge, and you will do as I say."
Fuming, Virgil hissed at Devon.
"Like I said, I'll do as you say when Hell freezes over."
He spat blood in his face, sneering.
Devon's face contorted with rage, and he raised his fist to punch Virgil in the side of his head, knocking him out instantly.
He wiped the blood from his face, and stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut.
~~~
"Roman! The police just arrived, they want to talk to you."
Logan had arrived with Thomas 15 minutes prior, and immediately called the police after listening to Patton's recollection of the days events.
Roman looked up from the book he was reading, instantly getting up and racing past Patton.
He ran into the living room, where he saw 3 people in police uniforms waiting.
There were 2 males and one female. On of the males was middle-aged, black hair with brown eyes, yay-high.
The other male was black, old and balding, and extremely tall.
Lastly, the female, had long curly chestnut brown hair and striking green eyes, pale skin and was taller than the black haired male, but shorter than the black male.
She pulled out a small notepad and pen when she saw Roman walking into the room, and clicked the end of it.
She was about to open her mouth and talk, but Roman cut her off.
"What took you so long?!" he asked, "Patton called you twenty minutes ago! And I know that nothing is happening crime wise, so why the fuck did it take you so long to get here?!"
Roman's hands were balled up into fists, and his nostrils flared.
"Sir, I'm going to need you to calm down." the female officer said. Her voice was strong, and very British.
"Virgil could be dead by now and you just took your merry time to get here!" Roman almost shouted.
The officer took a step forward, but Patton grabbed Romans arm, dragging him into the next room.
"Roman! You need to calm down!" he scolded, "It doesn't matter how long it took them to get here, the point is that they're here now."
Roman snorted, "Yeah, but who knows what Virgil's gone through now? Huh?"
"Roman Prince, you go back in there right now and be civil." Patton have Roman a stern look before letting his arm go, and nudging him back into the living room.
Roman slouched over and sat down on the chair facing the couch, on which the officers were seated.
"Alright," the female officer began, "This is Officer Kennedy." She nodded her head to the black policeman, who nodded in return.
"This is Officer Parker." The black haired officer grunted in response to his name.
"And I am Officer Rivers." she finished, tapping the badge pinned to her breast. "I'm going to be asking you some questions, and you are required to answer them honestly, understand?"
"Yes." Roman said, biting his lip.
"Good." Rivers looked at Roman directly in the eyes, pen poised and ready to write.
"What is your full name?"
"Roman Drew Prince."
"What is your date of birth?"
"Nineteenth of May, nineteen ninety-six."
"What is Virgil's full name?"
"Virgil Andrew Grey."
"What is your relationship with Virgil Grey?"
At this, Roman bit his lip again, and said slowly, "I'm his boyfriend."
Officer Parker glanced up at this, then looked down quickly, though Roman could have sworn he saw a grimace.
Officer Rivers seemed to notice this, and said sternly to Parker, "Do you have a problem with that, Officer Parker?"
"No." mumbled Parker.
Rivers looked up at Roman and smiled slightly, then went back to the questions.
"What is Virgil's date of birth?"
"Tenth of July, nineteen ninety-seven."
"Does Virgil have any close family?"
Roman looked down, "No. His parents and younger brother died."
Rivers also looked down, "How and when did they die?"
"They died in a car crash in twenty-fourteen."
"Their names and ages?"
"His mother, Angela Grey, was thirty-six. His father, Carlos Grey, was thirty-nine. His younger brother, Jasper Grey, was thirteen."
Rivers nodded apologetically, pursing her lips as she wrote down all the details. "Virgil has been taken before, is that right? By Devon...?"
"We never knew his last name, the police had no criminal record of him." Roman said.
"Is that so..."
Rivers and Roman spoke for about ten more minutes, covering everything that had happened four years prior.
The other Officers simply sat there, jotting something down every now and then.
When Rivers finally stood up, she said, "Alright. We thank you for your time, we will be contacting you shortly."
She went to leave the room but Roman took her arm, "Wait, what can I do?"
Rivers sighed, "Unfortunately there's nothing that you can do for us at the moment, it's just best for you to stay out of it entirely until further notice."
"But if I call Virgil again-"
"Then it could put him in even more danger than he's already in." Rivers said, "Mr Prince, I forbid you to call Virgil, it's highly risky."
Roman sighed, and nodded, letting go of Rivers arm.
"Good." Rivers said. "Officer Kennedy, Officer Parker, we're leaving now."
The two male Officers followed Rivers out of the house. Parker avoided eye contact, but Kennedy gave Roman an encouraging nod.
Roman nodded back.
"Hey, Roman, what are you reading?" Patton asked, coming to sit next to Roman on the bed.
Roman didn't look up, but closed the book and handed it to Patton so that he could read the title, Crow's Row, by Julie Hockley.
Patton turned the book over to read the blurb, and was more than a little concerned when he read that it was about a girl getting kidnapped and falling in love with her captor.
"That seems... interesting." Patton said slowly, handing the book back to Roman.
Roman didn't answer, taking the book back silently.
Patton sighed, "Roman... why are you reading this?"
Roman was silent for a few moments, then he answered, slowly.
"I promised Virgil... that I would read his favourite book... before he died."
"Oh, Roman..." Patton whispered.
"But I don't want Virgil to die, Patton." Roman looked up at Patton with tearful eyes, "I can't lose him."
And with that, Roman broke down. His chest heaved with sobs, his eyes tight shut, he dropped the book to the ground.
"I can't lose Virgil, Patton!" Roman sobbed into Patton's shoulder, "I can't lose him, I love him too much!"
It was moments like these that you really understood how important people could be. Logan was the love of Patton's life, and he couldn't bare the thought of him dying. He couldn't even imagine what Roman must be going through, not knowing where his lover was, if he was ever going to see him again, if he was hurt, if he was even alive.
Just then Logan walked into the doorway, Thomas by his side.
Patton gestured for the two of them to join him and Roman on the bed, mouthing to him.
Upset about Virgil.
Logan nodded, muttered something to Thomas, and came and sat down on Romans left side, Patton on his right. Thomas perched next to Logan.
Logan put his arm around Romans shoulders, who was still sobbing into Patton's shirt.
"If I lose Virgil, I don't know what I'll do." Roman cried, "I love him more than anything. I'll never forgive myself if he dies."
Patton rubbed Romans back soothingly, whispering to him, "Sshh, it'll be alright, Roman..." he bit his lip, struggling to hold back tears of his own, "It'll all be alright... We'll find him..."
Suddenly Roman stopped crying, and he lifted up his head.
"Find him..." he mumbled, "Find him... THAT'S IT!"
Roman stood up abruptly, starting Patton and Logan.
"I can find him!" Roman said, "Ever since Devon last kidnapped him I put a GPS in Virgil's phone, connected to my devices so that use always know where he was!"
His eyes wide with hope, Roman pulled his phone out of his pocket and got busy.
A minute later, his face split into a wide grin, and he brandished the phone in their faces.
"I found him! I know where he is!" Roman punched the air, his face glowing.
"I can go there right now! I've got fuel and it's not that far a drive- my keys!" Roman's face fell for a second, then he smiled again, "My keys are on the kitchen table, I'll go get them right now!"
Before Patton, Logan or Thomas could react to his sudden outburst, he ran out of the room.
They saw him run into his room for a second then run back out, shoving something in his jacket pocket. Then they quickly followed him to the kitchen, where he was typing the address into his Maps App.
"Roman, you can't just go there!" Logan said, putting a hand on Romans shoulder.
Roman raised an eyebrow.
Logan continued quickly, "It's an extremely dumb move, seeing as Devon is most likely armed and dangerous, and who knows what he'll do Virgil if you suddenly turn up-"
Roman shrugged Logan's hand off his shoulder, "Logan,you couldn't stop me four years ago, and you can't stop me now."
He went on searching up the address, "Fifty-five Reptile Lane is only a ten minute drive from here, I can get there in five minutes if I speed-"
Patton put both his hands on Romans shoulders and sighed, causing him to fall silent.
"I might not be able to stop you." Patton said, "But you sure as hell aren't going without me."
"Me too." Logan said.
"Count me in." Thomas added.
Roman smiled at the three men before him, and grinned.
"Let's go then!"
~~~
Devon sat in the wooden chair in front of the wooden desk, tilting back by pushing the tip of his foot against the back of the wall. His face was expressionless as he surveyed the decor of the room.
The walls were dark, with wooden flooring. It was lit by several lamps around the room. The walls were hardly visible, though.
Every inch had a picture or map plastered to it. Countless photos of Virgil were taped everywhere, along with maps and pictures of various places that Virgil spent his time at. There were lots of lists. Virgil's info, his family, and his favourite things, favourite colour (purple), favourite season (winter), favourite food (croissant), and also favourite animal (bat). There were also photos of Patton, Logan, Thomas, and Roman.
Devon wanted Roman dead. He hated him with every fibre of his being, wanted to crush his skull in, shoot him, make sure that he would never come back.
Virgil was his, not Romans. How dare Roman? How dare he hold Virgil, kiss him, make him smile so easily.
Roman didn't deserve Virgil's love. No one did. Except for Devon.
Devon's relationship with Virgil was a strange one. He loved him, he loved everything about him. His skin, his hair, his mouth, nose, his eyes... His eyes were like deep pools of water, drowning him in their darkness. But he loved it.
But though Devon loved Virgil, he loved to hurt him.
He loved the feeling of his soft flesh beneath his knuckles, when something crunched under his fist, and he loved the dark blood that leaked from wounds that he created.
Devon loves the sounds that Virgil made when he was in pain. The scream, the groan, the whimper, the shout, Devon loved it all.
Devon loved everything about Virgil, the good and bad.
~~~
"Okay... you turn right here, keep going for six-hundred metres and it's the last house on the right, number fifty-five."
Roman, sitting in the front passenger seat, read out the directions to Logan, who drove the car they were in. Patton and Thomas sat in the back, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.
"Hey, Roman?" Thomas said, "What if... Virgil isn't there?"
Roman didn't look up from his phone, "What do you mean, Tom? Of course he'll be there."
Patton sighed, "But Ro, there's a chance that Devon took Virgil's phone off of him and planted it somewhere."
It was a moment before Roman replied, and Patton could hear the desperation in his voice.
"Virgil's there, Patton, I know he is."
Roman saw Patton close his eyes and shake his head slightly, but chose to stay silent for the time being.
"Alright, I believe we have reached our destination." Logan informed them. "This is Fifty-Five Reptile Lane?"
Looking at the house that they were parked in front of, then at the picture on his phone, Roman nodded.
"Yep." he growled, "This is it."
Roman climbed out of the car and slammed the door shut behind him, making Patton flinch.
They heard him pop the trunk and rummage around for a moment, pulling out a plain black duffel bag.
The other three men got out of the car cautiously, walking around to see Roman open the bag.
"Roman, what's tha-" Patton was cut off by a gasp, then a baseball bat was thrusted at him.
A large knife in a sheath was handed to Logan, much to his surprise, and Thomas received a stun gun.
Roman himself had a small knife of his own, a club and- a gun.
The sight of the handgun bought audible gasps from all three men- even Logan.
"Roman, is that legal?" he asked slowly, "Is that allowed?"
Checking the gun for any safety issues, Roman nodded.
"I have a licence to carry no more than two firearms, and all the rest of them are legal as self-defence mechanisms."
Patton stared at the gun, "Roman, why do you have that?"
Roman snorted.
"After that psycho kidnapped Virgil four years ago, I took every precaution." he looked at them all, a cold look in his eyes. "I went to the gym more often, took self-defence classes, and shooting classes. I learned everything I could about what to do in a crisis, what not to do, how to fight without killing the person, how to specifically fight to kill, the pressure points, how to wield a knife, how to shoot a gun, I learned everything."
Roman looked around at his friends, "I will do anything to protect Virgil, anything."
Logan spoke, stuttering for the first time in six years.
"B-b-but Roman, w-w-what if D-Devon also has w-weapons?"
Patton took Logan's hand and squeezed it, knowing that he had only ever stuttered this bad when nervous, or doubtful.
"Then we cross our fingers and hope for the best." Roman said. Logan gulped.
"Alright, Logan." Roman began, "You study at medical school and you know where all of the vital organs are. If Devon comes at you, you know where to stab him."
Logan bit his lip and nodded, eyeing the knife.
"Thomas, you don't have much experience in using weapons but you studied karate in high school and know the weak spots, stun him if necessary."
Thomas nodded, gripping the stun gun.
"And Patton." Roman said gently, "I know you'd rather do anything else other than hurt a human or animal, but if Devon tries anything with you-" he was cut off abruptly.
"Then I'm gonna fuck him up." Patton growled.
Roman's eyes widened and he took a small step back, slightly frightened by Patton's intimidating stature.
Patton scowled, resting the baseball bat on his shoulder.
"No one messes with my family."
