Chapter 3 - Synthesized
Midoriya might go crazy after the other night. He can't focus much on class because of his encounter, but he made sure no one knows about it. If anyone notices his weird behaviour lately, he'll cone up with an excuse.
If what Syren said was true, then he can't tell anyone about this. It's either because his head might split in two or maybe that person he told that to might be in trouble because of him.
"Deku, are you alright?" Uraraka asked, looking worried.
"Yeah, Uraraka-chan. Just lack a few hours of sleep that's all," he half lied. Heck! He lost four hours of sleep because of a freaking nightmare!
"Are you sure? That's not healthy, Deku," she said and Midoriya nodded to reassure her, "Okay. But in case you need help, just tell me."
"Okay, Uraraka-chan," he said and someone called them from behind and there is Nekta running towards them.
"Nekta-senpai? What's the matter?" Uraraka asked as Midoriya just looks at her.
"Can we go somewhere not much people are?" She asked with a small somewhat embarrassed smile. The two nodded and Nekta practically dragged them to the back of the building where no students are found.
"So, what seems to be the problem, Nekta-senpai?" Midoriya asked and Nekta looked away, her cheeks turning red.
"Well, you see. I kinda like someone from your class," she sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. The two younger teens turned wide eyed and thought of possible candidates, "And I want some help from you."
"Really? Who is it? Todoroki-kun? Kaminari-kun? Kirishima-kun?" Uraraka asked excitedly with her hands clasping each other. Midoriya smiled awkwardly. He's the shy kind that knows nothing about these kinds of stuff.
"None of the above," Nekta flatly said.
"Tokoyomi-kun?"
"Nah-uh," Nekta said and blushed, "It's Bakugo Katsuki."
The two looked at her wide eyes, still processing what she just said. Ba.ku.go.Kat.su.ki. She said that right?
"Wait, you mean hot-headed, explode here, explode there, bully Bakugo Katsuki?" Uraraka asked and Nekta pouted.
"Wow. That hurts, even for someone who has a crush on the guy," she said and the two first years exchange gazes.
"Well, Kacchan isn't really that type of guy," Midoriya said, scratching the back of his head. Nekta sighed and smiled sadly.
"Well, you are the childhood friend, aren't you? At least tell me a bunch of stuff about him and who knows? Even a frog can be cute," she said, shrugging her shoulders. Midoriya finds it hard to argue with her logic.
"And don't ask why I come to like him," she sternly said in a big-sisterly kind of matter. Acting like a normal teenage girl might help Nekta in her plan so will act like one even if she doesn't like it.
"Oh, okay. But we can't guarantee that we can help much, senpai," Uraraka said and Nekta jumped and hugged the two of them.
"Thank you, guys! I'll treat you to ice cream later on," she said and internally smirked.
Touching Midoriya just made her inject another dose of her emphatic parasite into him. And later, he'll do the same with Bakugo.
"You're welcome, senpai," Midoriya smiled. He then felt a sudden throbbed behind his head making him pause for a moment. It didn't hurt like the previous one, it just throbbed. He don't know if that's a good sign or a bad one.
"Great! So let's start?"
---
The day ended with nothing unusual going on. Midoriya didn't felt any pain the rest of the day starting lunch, but that didn't helped him any good. That just makes him think that something worst might happen.
"Nekta-senpai likes who now?" Iida almost screamed when the two of them told him. they can't blame him. They had the same reaction.
"We know. We can't believe it either at first," Midoriya said and his eyes caught glimpse of something just up ahead by the school gate. He thought his eyes are playing tricks on him, but then they're not. Nekta is talking with Bakugo just up ahead.
"Do you see that?" He said still in utter shock. Uraraka did to and so as Iida. The conversation seems to be going on smoothly and Bakugo isn't yelling of making stuff explode.
"What do you think they are talking about?" Iida asked and Uraraka shrugged her shoulders.
"Something that doesn't get in Bakugo-kun's nerve, I suppose," she said and the next thing that happened is Bakugo walking off and Nekta waving at him.
"Okay, I've seen everything," Iida sarcastically said. Well, sarcasm is rare for this fast running hero so he surely is surprise to have watched that.
"Let's go ask her what happened," Uraraka said and run towards Nekta, calling out her name.
"W-Wait! Uraraka-chan!" Midoriya said and the two of them catch up with the girl. Nekta turned to them and smiled.
"Oh hey there, guys," she said and waved.
"What happened there, senpai? We saw you talking with Kacchan and he didn't seem to get mad," Midoriya said and Nekta blushed and smiled sheepishly.
"You saw that? Oh gosh," she said and held her bag tighter, "Well, nothing much. I just approached him and thanked him for blocking that purple ball in my first day even though he didn't really meant it."
"Really? Then what did he say?" Iida asked, curious at the situation at hand.
"Well, he did said something rude, but hey! I'm not the kind of girl who gets intimidated so easily," she said, crossing her arms and raised an eyebrow, "So I put some sass on and he gets what she gets."
The three thought, wow, did she really said what she just said? She really got the guts.
"Wow...I wish I have your confidence in talking to my crush," Uraraka said and Midoriya blushed. Uraraka have a crush? Who is it?
Nekta noticed his reaction and something came into her mind which made her internally smirked.
"Oh shush. You can do it. And let me tell you a secret," Nekta leaned in and faked a wide smile. Man, it hurts smiling so much.
The three also leaned in as the second year senpai cupped her hands over her mouth.
"I was internally screaming the whole time while talking to him. I mean, I was internally freaking out," she lied and winked. To be honest, she just did all that to plant her emphatic parasite inside Bakugo.
"No way!" Uraraka exclaimed and squealed, "I don't know why but I ship you, senpai!"
"Well, I think I better go. Mom's cooking fried chicken tonight," again, she lied and turned her heels to leave, "See you later, guys."
Especially you, Midoriya.
---
Midoriya's a bit paranoid to sleep. He's afraid that Syren might come again tonight and do something to him. He just lay there in his bed, staring wide eye at the ceiling and sighed. He's just being paranoid.
Setting the worries aside, he closed his eyes and let sleep drive its way to him. Hopefully, sandman too.
It was great to shut his eyes for a small moment but then he started to have the feeling of being stared at. He squeezed his bedsheets to drive away that weird feeling, but no avail. He also tried thinking happy thoughts and still nothing.
Then he took all the courage he have and decided to open his eyes to stare or see whatever is in front of him and he was greeted by two green eyes.
He screamed but not loud enough for his mom to hear and sat up straight, looking wide eyes at the dress-in-white villain in front of him.
"You're back!"
"Of course I am. Who do you think is this person standing before you?" She said sarcastically and grabbed Midoriya by his head, squeezing it at the process.
He cringed and grunted as Syren clutch his head, painfully a red glow on her hand.
"Get off me!" Midoriya bravely said which amuses Syren. Instead to doing as he please, she continued injecting more dose of emphatic parasite into his mind, making him scream.
"Oh be a good boy and keep quiet," she muttered and a knock was heard making Syren stop.
"Izuku! Are you alright?"
"Shit!" Syren muttered and Midoriya feared that his mother might be involve in this.
"Ah! Yeah! I'm fine, mom. I just hit my head on the wall," honestly, Syren thinks that's a lame excuse but it seems to work.
"Oh okay! Do you need anything?" His mother asked again from the other side of the door.
"No! No! I'm fine," he again lied even though his head started hurting again.
"Okay. Tell me if you need anything," she said and left. He sighed and then remembered about Syren being here again.
"You better not hurt my Mom," he hissed and Syren clicked her tongue.
"Not unless I needed to," she slammed her hand against the wall behind Midoriya and glared at him, "Now listen you little twerp. You will become a villain and you can't do anything about it."
"Argh!" He gasped feeling pain shot his head again, "what did you do to me?"
"I planted emphatic parasite into your head and it's slowly eating its way into your core until you really embrace being a villain," she answered and was about to pull down her mask until she froze and stopped.
Midoriya noticed this little reflex and started to get skeptical of her.
"You mean you're brainwashing me," he said and Syren's eyes widened like she heard a really bad joke and didn't liked it.
"Oh no. I am breaking you," she said and snapped her fingers. He gasped as the pain increased rapidly making him clutch his head. It hurts even more than the other times.
He can't let this excruciating pain stop him from stopping Syren from brainwashing him into becoming a villain. He needs to stop this. He needs to do what a hero must do.
Then, what does a hero must do in this kind of situation?
