I walked the streets of Paris I had just moved to France a few months ago. I've known a few people and a few knew me. I was an American opera singer and I had a nice natural voice, I was an alto but I wanted to be much greater. I wanted to become a soprano and with some help I could become what I always dreamed of, a professional opera singer.
I was singing in the streets one morning which. The townspeople didn't mind It they had singers all across town and they adored me. So one lucky day I remember It well.
The manager of the opera populaire was walking the streets the same time as myself.
And I was singing for all of Paris to hear.
And I happened to catch his eye.
"Excuse me madmoiselle forgive my interruption but what is your name?" Gerard said.
"Elisabeth Dapper." I said.
"Elisabeth Dapper, well Miss Dapper you have quite a lovely voice." Gerard said.
"Oh why thank you Monseuir and who might you be?" I asked him not knowingly.
"I'm the manager at the opera house and I think you might be a great addition to our company but you'll of course need lesson for a natural voice is not nearly enough as you may as Well know." He says smiling.
"I would like to excel Monseuir It is my dream to excel in my voice range ." I said.
"Well here is my card dear and might I say I think you have a great future here." Gerard said handing me his card.
"Oh thank you very much! I will be there tommrow if that's alright?" I asked.
"Of course It is and my son he also helps me with my work he would love to meet you." Gerard says.
"Oh it'd be an honor thank you." I said starry eyed.
"see you tommrow Elisabeth." Gerard said.
"By the way Monsieur you may call me Ella It's simpler ." I said smiling.
"Alright then see you tomorrow Ella." He smiles walks off.
I squeal in excitement.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe I'm getting lessons at the opera house! I've always dreamed of this day ." I said.
