Okay, just so you guys are aware, my band does not do band camp the way most other bands do. If you just happen to do band camp similar to the way mine does, normally, band camp is held at the school over the summer for two weeks and they normally practice for 5-6 hours a day. Instead of continuing overnight, band camp is normally a day camp, where you start in the morning and go home later. 

My band actually stays at a camping site overnight. We go for three days during the school year, usually during the second or third week of school. We still hold practices and council meeting in July, but we depart for camp after school on a Thursday and return at noon on Saturday. It's short, but it's a lot of fun.

If you're complaining that I "have no fun" or that I "don't know what your pain is," one, I do, okay? Just because our camp is shorter doesn't mean we don't work as hard. Also, I'm going to brag a little: we have the best marching band in our area! It even says "The Pride of [insert name of area]" on our shirts. And two, I'm continuing my marching career in college, and they do band camp the traditional way over there, so I will have done it that way as well.
