( Fays POV)

In the nick of time, just before Amber pulled the trigger intending to end my life Luis rammed into her side, knocking her over as the gun went off. Her frustrated scream followed. At the same time, Jason was suddenly at my side pushing me out the way of the stray bullet.

"Son of a bitch!" Jason cursed into my ear as we both went down, hard.

"Jason!" I pushed him back and inspected the bullet wound. It was on his upper right arm, blood oozing out. "Press your hand against it!"

"I know, I know," Jason snapped, "shit, it hurts like hell."

"I'm sorry," I couldn't find anything else to say. He had protected me. He took the bullet that was meant for me. Jason had saved my life.

I looked behind me and found Austen was unhurt, standing over Stan like an avenging angel. Stan was on his knees, doubling with pain. I was relieved that the other gun shot that had come from Stans gun missed Austen.

"Fay, watch out!" I heard Luis scream.

Too late.

Amber jumped on top of me, pinning me down with her legs. Before I could react, she began to slap me as if her life depended on it.

Luis' POV

"Shit," I kicked Ambers gun as far away from us as possible before pulling her off of Fay.

Amber screeched like a mad woman, thrashing against my hold. "You okay?" I asked Fay as I tried to keep a firm hold of Amber the psycho witch. Seriously, this chick was demented.

"Let her go," Fay stood, wiping the blood off her lip.

"What?"

"Let her go," Fay repeated.

I blinked at her. "Let her go?"

"If she wants a piece of me, let her try." Fay's eyes bore into mine. They were hard, angered and determined. "I'm going to kick her ass for all the shit she put me through."

I grinned. Now this was the tough as nails chick I knew and loved.
Stepping aside, I released Amber.

"Bitch," Amber hissed at Fay. "I don't need a fucking gun to finish you off!"

"Bitch," Fay taunted back. "I don't think you have what it takes to take me on."

Amber screamed and launched herself at Fay.

Jasons POV

I don't understand girls. I really don't.

I watched as Amber launched herself at Fay, who stood still, smirking.

I shook my head. This was crazy. Was Fay really planning to fight her?

"Don't try to move," Luis crouched next to me. "We don't know if the bullet hit any vital spots."

"You're seriously going to let this happen," I pointed at the two girls. "You're going to let them duke it out?"

"It's what Fay wants," Luis shrugged. "And Amber deserves to have her ass whipped."

My eyes landed where Austen and Stan was still going at it. For a janitor, Stan was pretty tough but it looked like Austen was winning the fight.

"This is rediculous," I grumbled.

"Let them get it out their system," Luis told me. "Austen and Fay, they need this. Its a way of venting out anger."

I shook my head. "You're as crazy as they are."

Luis winked. "And don't you forget it, handsome."

Austens POV

Something in me had exploded.


The moment Stan pointed the gun at Vals, intending to harm her, I saw red.

Rage so painful, so intense swelled from the pits of my stomach to my chest. In that instant, my breathing turned uneven and my eyes stung with outraged tears at the thought of Stan actually shooting my Vals. Her body, lifeless and broken at his feet.

I wanted to kill the mother fucker where he stood. The beast in me, the monster I've been hiding so deperately from Vals demanded it.

"Austen, no!"

Who was screaming? Vals?

Adrenaline pumped up in my system and I found myself crashing into Stan. Knocking him to the ground. The gun went of. No...wait, two. Two guns had went off at the same time.

My chest tightened, fear swelling. Oh god, had Vals been hit? What if Stan hadn't missed and actually shot her? What if Amber had shot her? Worse...what of she had been hit...twice.

I looked up from my struggle with the damn janitor and my heart nearly stopped at the sight of Vals on the ground...but why was Jason on top of her?

"Jason!" I heard her cry.

Jason cursed and said something else I couldn't make out. But by the way he held on to his right arm it looked like he had been shot. Vals hovered over him, telling him something, I don't know. I didn't care.

Vals wasn't hurt.

She was safe.

Relief flowed through me.

Jason must have taken the bullet for her. The beast in me, so inhuman, was glad. It was glad that it had been Jason who had been shot instead of Vals. Glad that it wasn't her blood that was spilt. It sickened me. These cruel selfish thoughts but I couldn't help it. Vals safetly was above everything else.

I turned my attention back to Stan and threw a punch to his jaw, which sent him flying backwards. I stood over him, breathing hard. I knew I could end this quickly. I knew I could kill him without regret for harming Vals but the beast in me wanted to play and I was all for it.

I want him to suffer a little longer. To hurt him to the point where he would break.

Stan struggled to get up and my foot shot out, kicking him on the abdomen. The janitor groaned, hunching over with pain.

I smiled.

"Fay, watch out!"

My head snapped to the warning just in time to see Amber landing on top of Vals. My eyes narrowed as I took a step forward to get her off but Luis beat me to it, grabbing the girl from behind and lifting her up.

"You okay, Fay?"

"Let her go," Vals told him.

I grinned. The look in her eyes. Hard, cunning. This was my Vals. She didn't run from anything.

"If she wants a piece of me, let her try." Vals was saying, "I'm going to kick her ass for all the shit she put me through."

Pride swelled in my chest. Vals wasn't one to back down and she was mine. Mine. The beast in me howled silently with possesiveness.

Mine.

Cookie: *whistles* Austens so...raw. Hehe, who knew that this ex-geek lookin guy would turn out to be so...intense? Love sure makes people do strange things. lol and Austens love for Fay is waaaay up there on the richter scale.

Tell me my readers, would you want someone like Austen to love you with the same undying devotion...or do you think its just too creepy? lol I wonder if some of you already know where I'm headed with Austens character...only a few really questioned it so far...hehe
