Chapter 5

⚠️Trigger warning⚠️: homophobia and mentions of psychological abuse.

The photo above has no connection to the story, I just thought it was funny.

As family rules state, if you're the one not eating, you still have to sit at the table meaning that Yua and Eijiro are left starving. The four sit in awkward silence until Dad breaks it, "I think Eijiro is showing an interest in a girl." Eijiro shifts uncomfortably in his seat and Mum's gaze shifts from her meal to him.

"Really?" she asks to be certain.

"When we moved in and went to the store for food, there was this hooded girl who was talking to Eijiro and giggling. They'd make an adorable couple." Eijiro feels the urge to puke.

"Ei-Ei, is what Dad saying correct?" Yua asks from beside him.

Though Eijiro knows that his safety should be top priority, he doesn't want his parents thinking he's dating a villain, and a girl villain. He knows he shouldn't come out but he can't burry it anymore. Taking a deep breath, he stammers, "I'm, well, I-I'm...how do I put this...I'm gay." The room falls into silence and a small, cold hand rubs his forearm. With a racing heart, he looks over at Yua who adorns a smile and he sends one back.

"I can't believe this, Daisuke," Mum's sorrowful voice says. Eijiro turns his attention to his two parents and his heart rate picks up while his stomach twists into knots. "He thinks he like d*ck."

That hurt, he thinks.

"Son, today's been a big day for you. You're just delusional," Dad says.

"Dad, I'm not-" he cuts himself off, knowing if he continues another argument will break out. He pushes his chair back and stands up. "I'm going to my room," he says in a monotone.

"You need to cool off, honey," Mum says after him.

Eijiro climbs up to his room and slams the door shut behind him. The tears begin rolling down in an instant and he flings himself onto his bed, soaking his pillow. He knew this would happen but it still hurts a lot.

A minute or two pass by before Eijiro calms down enough to call his best friend. After the third ring the male on the other side cuts it off. Eijiro lets out a shaky breath of relief. "Can I come over?" he asks timidly.

"What the hell? It's a school night," Katsuki snaps.

"Sorry," he mumbles and goes to hang up but the other stops him.

"I didn't say you couldn't come over, just that it's a bit odd."

"So I can come?" Eijiro says hopeful.

"Yeah, alright. Get here soon." Katsuki hangs up the phone and Eijiro sighs in relief. He couldn't stand being in this house for the night.

He packs his school clothes and his toiletries in a bag before swinging the backpack on. He's wearing lazy clothes and at six pm, Eijiro doesn't care what people think of him so he decides to go out in what he's wearing. He packs his homework (most of which is incomplete) in his school bag and walks out of his room, down the stairs and to the plain foyer. "I'm going to Bakugou's," he shouts out.

"No you're not, Eijiro!" Mum shouts back but she's too late. He's already slipped his shoes on and closing the door behind him. Eijiro inhales the night air and heads through the streets, hair blowing in the wind.

***

Eijiro knocks on the Bakugou's residence. The shouting dies down as footsteps quickly approach the door, followed by a few muffled, whispered words. The door swings open to reveal the happy smile of Mitsuki Bakugou. Eijiro peers over her shoulder at a frowning, grumpy Katsuki. "It's been so long, Kirishima," she says and ushers him inside.

Eijiro pulls his shoes off and gives a small smile at the lady. "It's nice to see you again, Mitsuki-san."

The female hisses at Katsuki to stand up straight in which he replies harshly, "Don't tell me what to do Old Hag."

"Why don't you go up with Katsuki to his room?" she ignores her angry son.

"Thankyou Mitsuki-san," Eijiro says and forces Katsuki up the stairs.

His room is tidy with a standard desk, bed and wardrobe. On the desk is one thing that always catches Eijiro off guard but always warms his heart. Katsuki isn't known to like photo's and the only photo in his room is of himself and Eijiro when he took Katsuki mountain biking for a date (he worked really hard to pay for it). After the date, they ended up having a huge fight which stopped them from talking to each other for a few days but that also made their bond stronger. Katsuki slams the door shut behind the red-head making him flinch.

"Why are you here, Eijiro?" the blonde asks agitatedly.

"It seems as though you don't want me here," Eijiro responds jokingly and rubs the back of his neck.

"Why are you here?" he repeats.

"I won't tell you until you say you're grateful for my presence," he bargains and pulls his boyfriend close but not so their chests are touching and interlocking his fingers behind his waist. Eijiro's face boars a goofy smile which turns Katsuki's face hot pink.

"Just tell me why you're here?" he forces. Giving up isn't something Katsuki does very often – actually, never.

"I think you don't want me here. I'll leave now," he says with fake sadness and pulls out of the hug. He goes to pick up his bags from the floor when Eijiro finally gets what he wants out of Katsuki.

"Fine...I'm grateful for you being here," he grumbles out like a three year old apologising to a kid for stomping on their sandcastle. He even holds the same expression which Eijiro can't help but think is adorable.

"You're so cute!" he squeals and pinches Katsuki's soft cheeks, making him swat at his hands.

"Don't touch me, idiot!" he shouts and Eijiro flinches but quickly recovers.

"Anyways, I came out to my parents, they said I was delusional," he informs, trying to sound like it wasn't that big of a deal but the tears are threatening to fall. "It's all good though. I just don't want to spend the night there, ya know?"

Katsuki clenches his fists by his sides and lowers his head before he turns around. Eijiro chuckles nervously. "We need to kill someone, Old Hag!" he shrieks at the top of his volume. Eijiro covers his ears.

"Who?" The female voice shouts back.

"Eijiro's parents. They're homophobic little bitches!"

Eijiro giggles.

"Oh no they didn't!" her voice somehow crescendo's even louder than it was before. the door slams open and Katsuki's mum engulfs the red-head into a deep, rib crushing hug. Eijiro wheezes and Katsuki tries to pry the woman off his man but she doesn't budge. Eijiro gives a strained smile to Katsuki and pats his mum on the back softly. She lets go and stares into Eijiro's maroon eyes. "We'll get rid of them for you."

"Eh, it's OK. It didn't bother me that much," he lies and can sense Katsuki seeing through him like crystal water.

"Mitsuki, honey? You need to calm down," a timid male voice says from the doorframe.

"Oh, hello Masaru-san," he greets perkily.

"Hey Kirishima." He smiles gently at him.

Katsuki growls and pushes his mum out of the room and slams the door shut, telling them to go away. Eijiro lets out a relieved sound. Katsuki throws his bags at the foot of his single sized bed and sits down on the soft mattress. Eijiro sits beside him awkwardly. Katsuki clicks his tongue before grabbing his computer from his bedside table. He ushers the other to scoot up beside him with their backs resting against his pillows. The two are squished uncomfortably up against each other so Eijiro tries to scoot further into the wall.

"What are you trying, Shitty Hair?" Even though they've been dating for over four months, the nickname never goes away.

"Just giving you more room is all," he responds.

"You're so annoying," he mumbles half-heartedly and pushes Eijiro's head against his chest, who immediately melts into the warmth, never wanting to detach himself from it. A light dusting covers his face as he snuggles into the boy. "What movie do you want to watch?"

"Um – uh, I-I don't know."

"How 'bout Shrek?" he offers.

"You like Shrek too?" Eijiro says happily.

"Shrek is a masterpiece, obviously I do."

"Let's watch all the Shrek movies." Eijiro pecks Katsuki on the neck to let him know he appreciates him more than he could ever know.

"Whatever," he grumbles and puts on the movie.

***

They're halfway through the second Shrek movie and Eijiro's stomach is in pain, having not had eaten since midday. That was twelve hours ago. He's growing tired and angsty. Yua is the one who mostly has to suffer without eating dinner. If Eijiro could, he'd sneak a snack up to her room after dinner but it's a risky task.

In the most silent section of the movie, his stomach lets out the loudest anguished sound it could and Eijiro whines from embarrassment and covers his face. Katsuki pauses the movie. "How are you hungry?" he asks harshly.

"I missed dinner is all. I'll be fine till tomorrow morning," he replies. He doesn't want Katsuki, the one he loves, to catch on. Even if it's normal to deprive your child of food if they do something wrong, Katsuki would still slaughter them.

"Your stomach seems to be saying the opposite." He slides out from under Eijiro's body and heads over to the door. "I'll get some snacks." He pulls the door open, letting the hallway light into the room. Eijiro stares at the doorway in confusion.

How is he allowed to snack? He thinks in confusion. There must be something wrong with his family but I'm not here to judge.

Two minutes pass before Katsuki returns with a week supply of junk food. Eijiro's stomach pleads for the food. Katsuki turns the lights on and dumps the food onto the bed. Eijiro looks up at him oddly. "How'd you get the snacks?"

"I dived into the ocean and collected it from the bottom of the sea – what do you think, Eijiro? I got it from the flipping kitchen," he says with a hint of anger.

Eijiro wants to ask him another question but he doesn't want to be told to shut-up like usual so he stays quiet. Eijiro rips open a packet of cheese and bacon rolls and pulls one out. Katsuki on the other hand, grabs the tub of ice-cream and eats straight out of it with a spoon.

Soon enough, they return to their movies.

***

As the sun rises above the houses, Eijiro awakes, half hanging off the futon beside Katsuki's bed. He sighs depressingly and claws his hand up to Katsuki's alarm but the other's hand throws the alarm to the other side of the room. Eijiro holds his breath and shrinks back into the covers.

"Shut up you piece of shit!" Katsuki shouts. Eijiro flinches at the insult.

"S-Sorry," he whispers and holds his head down in shame. Covers are thrown off and Katsuki jumps over Eijiro's futon.

"Get up Ei." Katsuki dad-yawns and Eijiro immediately stands up, rubbing his eyes. The two stand awkwardly in front of each other, Eijiro expecting a scolding and Katsuki expecting to be embraced in a stubborn hug. Once realising he issn't going to get scolded at, he unclenches his eyes and slowly looks up at a childishly-angry looking Katsuki. He smiles at the blonde and embraces him in the largest hug of the century that no one can break out of. "Took you long enough," he grumbles and pauses, "Now get off me."

"Nope."

"We have school, idiot."

"Can we skip for the day," he whines.

"Do you want to stay stupid?"

Eijiro shakes the incoming wave of horrible thoughts. "Nah. Let's go!" He releases from the hug and the two get ready together.

***

When the two boyfriends enter the classroom together, their friends have all encircled around Sero's desk, chatting about some trivial matter until Denki spots the two. "Hey guys!" He calls out.

"Hey Denki," Eijiro says. he makes his way over to Sero's desk.

"What's with the bag?" Mina asks and points towards Eijiro's backpack.

"Oh, I stayed over at Bakugou's place last night," he explains.

"Why's that?" Denki asks.

Eijiro explains sadly, "I came out to my parents and they didn't really like it so I decided to spend the night at Katsuki's."

Mina says with determination, "We'll kill them for you."

"Yeah!" Denki exclaims.

A real smile forms on his face.

***

"We'll strike in approximately one month," Shigaraki explains.

"Yay! I get to see my Midoriya!" Toga squeals in excitement.

Eijiro's stomach turns. "Shigaraki hasn't finished speaking yet," Kurogiri says from behind the blue haired male.

"Kirishima will be swapped out for another girl soon. When she comes you're out but you won't be let off the hook. Now, tell us all you know about the security systems.

Eijiro pulls his hoodie down to cover more of his face and hesitantly tells them all he knows.
