Chapter 3: Day One, Over

"Ahh! I was right! You look fantabulous, Garroth!" Aphmau clapped her hands, looking over the outfit I had changed into.

She is so damn perky...

I don't know whether if it's a good thing or a bad thing...

Maybe both...

"Uh...thanks, I guess," I rubbed my arm, looking slightly at the ground.

"Go look in the mirror, honey! You look great~!" Aphmau chirped.

I looked up, turning to face the mirror, showing my reflection. The outfit she had given me, was quite strange. The shirt was checkered blue and white, and I was given these type of blue trousers.

I stood there awkwardly, not sure how to react. I didn't look the same in this attire. I lost some of my maturity in an outfit such as this. It's...strange.

"Aphmau, babe, I don't think you should be interfering with a stranger's affairs," the man, named Aaron, stated.

Finally! Someone with common sense, in this village.

"Oh, he doesn't mind. I'm ecstatic to help~" Aphmau clung to my side, giggling more. Such a strange girl. "Right~? You don't mind, do you?"

Yes.

You can't say that! Try looking her in the eye, and saying it.

I whipped my head around to face the girl. Staring into her hazel eyes, I felt...a familiar feeling. Why is it so familiar? Why can't I just remember damnit?! Gah!

"N-no, I don't mind..."

"See, Aaron!" Aphmau exclaimed, hopping a little.

"You probably scared him into submission," Aaron shook his head, crossing his arms.

I like this guy, already! He has some damn common sense, and understands me!

"That's not true, is it?" She looked up at me, with pleading eyes.

For Irene's sake...

"No, it isn't true, m'lady," I chuckled a little, looking around. What was I supposed to do now?

"Oh, Garroth, hun, if you are confused...all you have to do is-"

"Garroth! My Irene! You are taking a million freaking years, to just find a-" Laurance. I recognize his annoying voice anywhere.

I turned around to face him, to see him standing there. He was blushing madly, and biting down hard on his lip. Why? He like...this Aphmau girl, or something?

"Laurance, hey!" Aphmau chirped, waving over to him. Laurance nodded in response, not breaking eye contact with me. What was this guy's problem? "Are you with Garroth?"

"Nah. My standards aren't set that low," Laurance snickered, crossing his arms.

"Laurance!" Aphmau flailed her arms, glaring at Imbecilic Laurance. If it wasn't obvious enough already, I'm not too fond of this guy... "But, seriously, are you here with him?"

"I guess you could say that," Laurance shrugged, walking over to me. A devilish smirk played along his lips. What, now? "...Hey, Garroth, you look cute when you're the same height as me."

"Eh, pardon?" I rose an eyebrow, confused by his words.

"When you were in your armour, you were taller. Even in my clothes, you still had a good bit of height on ya. Probably from the boots, Dante had you wear. But, in this outfit...we can get..," Laurance's idiotic smirk grew, as he leaned closer to me. "...up close and personal..."

Can I kill this guy, yet?

Our sword is back at Dante's.

Aww. Oh, well. We'll have to make do.

My thoughts were interrupted, by squealing. Like...a dying pig. And, extremely high-pitched. It made my headache worsen, a lot. My Irene...who is torturing that poor animal? I turned my, to find what was making the noise.

That revealed it to be...Aphmau. She almost looked like she had stars in her eyes, as she jumped up and down, giggling and squealing. Aaron stood beside her, shaking his head. A few passersby looked our way, obviously confused by the scene at hand.

I groaned, lightly pushing Laurance away. Obviously, he overpowered me at the moment, due to my lack of energy, and didn't budge. I'm sure, I would'vr been able to knock him to his feet, if I had all of my strength back.

"Can you, back up, before I hurt you," I glared at the brunette, who only scoffed in response. "I'm serious. I don't take kindly, to this sort of behaviour."

"Wat'cha gonna do? Summon like..," Laurance chuckled, backing away from me slightly. "...a deadly beast, to come and eat my head off?"

Laurance laughed harder, holding his stomach. I rolled my eyes, turning back to Aphmau and Aaron. They...seemed a little confused, about the whole situation. I, honestly, didn't blame them. I wasn't fully aware of what was going on, either. He wasn't even humorous. I don't understand!

"Well, uh...Aphmau, Aaron...since you are the only two people here, I can tolerate at the moment, what do I do now?"

Aphmau smiled brightly, holding her hands together. "Well..."

~~~
"You satisfied with what you got, Weirdo?" Laurance chuckled, his hands in his pockets. I rolled my eyes, not answering. "What? Cutie, don't wanna talk to me?"
"Shut up," I growled under my breath. This guy, was horrible. I preferred literally everyone else I met, over this guy.
"Ow, my heart. Your words hurt so much," Laurance smirked, still chuckling a little. "That was sarcasm, by the way. If they didn't teach you that back in your castle.
I growled some more, clenching my fists. "I'm aware of what sarcasm is."
"Wow, look at you. Blondie's got some brains after all. That isn't filled with nonsensical shit," his facial expressions turned suddenly serious. "But, listen bud... Even if you are cute, I'm not letting that get in the way of how I feel towards you. You're obnoxious."
You're one to talk...
"Laurance~Kun!" A new, and unfamiliar voice boomed from behind us.
Laurance's serious expression softened a bit, as he turned around. I turned as well, to see two peculiar people. One actually being, the blue-haired girl from earlier today. What was her name again...Katelyn, was it? Pretty sure.
The other, was a cat girl... Meif'wa, right? That's the name of the race. Hey, I remembered something...sorta significant. She had rather long, light pink hair. Her ears and tail were a dark black colour, and her eyes a mix between yellow and orange. Her attire, was very...pink. I should just leave it at that.
"Hey, Kawaii~Chan. Katelyn. What's up, ladies? Been a while," Laurance crossed his arms, smiling warmly at the lovely maidens. "How you two doing?"
"Kawaii~Chan is doing wonderful, Laurance~Kun. Thanks for asking," the Meif'wa, obviously named Kawaii~Chan, giggled, her tail flicking behind her.
"I'm doin' okay, I guess," Katelyn shrugged, pushing a strand of hair, our of her light blue eyes. "Anyways, I see you met Blonde Boy, here."
And why do people keep pointing out the colour of my hair? I find it unnecessary.
"Oh, you mean this lunatic," Laurance laughed, shoving my forearm lightly. "You met him?"
"He nearly got hit by a car," Katelyn smirked, looking me over.
"Eh. Seems reasonable."
"Kawaii~Chan hasn't met him before," Kawaii~Chan smiled brightly, skipping over to me. "This is Kawaii~Chan! What is your name~?"
"Garroth," I flatly replied, not too keen on all the insults the other two have sent my way. "Nice to meet you as well, Kawaii~Chan."
"Well, as much as I would love to stay and chat, I have to take Gareth here, back to my place," Laurance smirked.
"Garroth," I glared at him, once again. I had a serious distaste for this guy.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Seeya, girls," he waved goodbye to the ladies, walking back in our original destination.
I hate all of this...
~~~

"Hey, Laurance, Garroth. Took you two long enough," Dante greeted us, as he opened their front door. "Did you two get caught up, making out or something?"

"Exactly," Laurance replied, pushing past Dante.

I shook my head, standing awkwardly on their porch. Would it be impolite to allow myself in? Is it impolite to just stand here? I hath no ideas, on this village's customs. I'm confused enough, already!

"You can come on in, Garroth. You look exhausted, and it's getting pretty late. If you still want to, you can absolutely stay here," Dante gave me a warm smile, stepping out of the way.

I like this guy, too. I suppose, the only people I hath to truly pretend to tolerate, would have to be Katelyn, and ugh... Laurance.

"Again, Dante, I have to ask," I stepped inside their home, turning to face the blue-haired man. "Why are you doing all this for me? I have nothing to pay you in return. You know that, correct?"

"Listen, dude...I am not going to ask for any form of payment. Think of this as...volunteer work. I completely trust you. Plus...I dunno...you seem...familiar, somehow..," Dante sighed, shaking his head. He pointed up the stairs, still holding his smile. "Anyways, remember where the guest room is? You can head there if you want to. Help yourself to anything, you see necessary. I'm gonna go play some videogames, then head to sleep myself. You have a good night."

I nodded, and Dante walked off. I stood there for a moment, trying to figure out what a videogame was. Doesn't sound familiar at all.

Eventually, I gave up. I headed up the stairs, into the guest room. I sat down on the rather comfortable bed, staring out the window. I listened to my own thoughts, as drowsiness seemed to get the better of me...

I wonder what will happen in this crazy, messed up world tomorrow...

Maybe, we'll wake up...and this dream will finally be over with...
