2 ~ Layla Hart
Hi guys~!
Quickly need to ask, do you like the plot? It's not copying anyone is it??
If it is, tell me and I'll write another story. I don't want people telling me it's been done before!
Anyway, on with the chapter~~

Lucy Heartfilia's POV
So, it was my 16th birthday and honestly? I was having a great time.
I'd made some amazing friends nine years ago after losing some not so great ones. My bestest friend, Loke, was a bit of a flirt but he was the best friend I could really ask for.
When I moved he was my next door neighbour.
The first thing he said to me was, and I quote,
"Will this be a girl-next-door love? A childhood romance?"
Immediately we clicked, best friends. He introduced me to the rest of his friends who called themselves the Celestials.
Aries was the sweetest, she apologised for everything and stood up for me whenever she was around.
Capricorn was much older than Loke, in fact he was Loke's guardian. Even though he was old enough to live on his own, Capricorn insisted that Loke lived with him.
Aquarius was the bully of the group, always picking on me whenever her boyfriend Scorpio wasn't around. She was the smartest too though... Mean and smart.
Scorpio was athletic, and one of the coolest guys in school (aside from Loke) and he lived next to a beach. (No wonder Aquarius loved him so much, the sea was basically her second home)
Gemini, well Gemi and Mini were the two youngsters who also lived with Loke. They were both 10 and were extremely mature for their age, but they always pulled some sort of prank each day.
Cancer was the most fashionable person I'd ever met. Every day he would come into school looking more fabulous than the day before.
Sagittarius was the sports geek. He specialised in archery, but he was always at the top of the Physical Education class.
Taurus, the professional pervert. He'd carry a key chain axe around and make rude jokes. No matter where I went, he was always there.
Virgo... the trainee maid... Already enough said about her. She's obsessed with punishments, when she grew up she wanted to be a maid and the films she watched put maids in an unflattering light...
Libra was training to be a lawyer, she'd aced all of her final exams in school and made it the the prestigious Fiore University. Any arguement the group had, she'd sort out within seconds.
And Pisces wasn't really a person, they were a mother and son duo who went everywhere together. Seriously, I don't know their real names to this day. But the mother always followed the son around, even at school.
Back to my party!
"Happy birthday Lucy~!" Gemi and Mini chimed. Gemi grabbed my left arm and Mini held my right arm. "Come this way!"
I was dragged to Loke's house and then as soon as I reached the front gate I was amazed to see all of the group there holding a massive birthday cake with white icing and strawberries.
"Happy birthday Lucy!" They all yelled, aside from Capricorn who was marvelling at the sight of the cake, saying something along the lines of "it's beautiful" and "my best work yet".
"Thanks guys!" I smiled sweetly at them all and was suddenly the centre of a huge hug. "G-Guys... You're suffocating me."
After they all pulled away, we went inside the house and had a loud party. Gemi and Mini lived with Loke and Capricorn so when it was their bedtime the rest of us stopped dancing and sat down on the sofas and beanbags drinking fizzy drinks and eating leftover pizza.
"So, what was your old school like?" Aires asked since none of them truly knew what I'd been through. "You always avoid the question but can we hear why? For once? ... I mean! If you don't want to talk about it that's fine! I'm sorry..." She whined.
"Don't worry about it Aires," I said, "It's about time I told you guys."
"Are you sure you want to tell them? I'm not saying they'll do anything bad but you get upset telling this story." Loke intervened.
"Wait Loke knows but I don't?!" Aquarius bellowed.
"Calm down babe!" Scorpio grinned. "He's closest to her, I'd expect him to know!" Aquarius snuggled in to Scorpio's arms and smirked at me.
Just because I don't have a boyfriend...
"Anyway, it all began when..." I explained the story to them, how it was my birthday and my friends never came. Some of them looked shocked whereas some of them were in tears.
"How dare they do that to our Lucy!" Taurus wailed. "If only they saw yoooou now with your se-," Loke whacked him on the head before he could finish his sentence.
"I admit, that was a bad move for them to make." Libra nodded her head. "If they knew you know I think that they'd regret their past decisions."
One by one they all tried to cheer me up from the memory. "Sorry for bringing it up Lucy," Aires apologised. "But we'll always be here for you."
"Thanks Aires." I smiled, then quickly glancing at the clock above the TV I stood up and dashed to the door. "Shoot I'm late! Dad's gonna kill me!"
"What time is it?" Sagittarius asked.
"One in the morning." Pisces answered.
"Oh."
"Oh? Oh is an understatement!" I squealed. "Papa wanted me back by eleven!"
"You'll be fine, you always are." Capricorn said. "I'll inform your father that time passed quickly and we were indulged in healthy snacks... I won't mention that game of poker."
The group laughed and they all waved goodbye as I walked down the drive... and then into the house next door. The funniest thing was that I heard Loke say, "It feels like she's one thousand miles away from me... Oh hey Lucy."
***
"Lucy?"
"Hmph... Mmm....." I rolled over in my warm bed.
"Lucy? Are you awake?"
"Wha-," I jolted up in my bed, my eyes still closed. "No no no! I'm awake I swear."
"Good." The door to my room opened and my father walked in holding a small box. "Happy belated birthday. I'm sorry I was at a business meeting yesterday but here's your gift." I took the smallbox once I'd opened my eyes and hugged my father.
"What is it?"
He chuckled. "Open it."
Inside the box was a locket shaped like a heart. It was golden with a small pattern which had been made so delicately you could see the small diamonds sparkle in their small hiding places. I opened the locket itself and felt like crying when I saw the inside.
It was a picture of me, mama and papa. It was a little bit faded but her beautiful face was still visible. A small piece of paper fell out of the locket, and when I unfolded it to the normal size I stopped breathing for a bit. It was a letter from mama saying how much she loved me and how she wished that she could watch me grow up.
"Mama says happy birthday." Papa said.
"Thank you Papa," I hugged him tightly and squeezed my eyes shut. Fighting back tears is harder than it sounds.
***
An hour later, I waltzed downstairs in my new light pink dress and with my golden locket around my neck. My hair was tied up in a messy bun and I was wearing rose tights.
"What's for breakfast Papa?" I called out into the kitchen.
"Pain au chocolat and a letter."
"Strange combination, but alright."
I sat down at the table and took a pastry from the plate in the middle of the table. Over the previous nine years, I'd gotten used to having no servants. Papa said that it would be best for me to learn similar to how he learned. On his own without needed any servants to do your work for you. "I earned my way to the top, unlike you I wasn't lucky enough to be born in to it!"
"What does the letter say?" I asked still eating.
"..."
"Papa?"
He turned to face me, his face looked pale.
"We're moving back dear."
"..."
"..."
"WHAT!?" I screamed.
"Quiet you'll wake next door." Papa hugged me and said. "I'm sorry, I know how much you hated Magnolia but work insists that I return tomorrow."
"Tomorrow...? Papa, have you received any letters like that before?"
"... I received three last month but I tried to put it off."
"Why?"
"Because I didn't want you unhappy on your birthday again. My heart broke when you were younger, I don't want it broken again. Besides," He looked out of the kitchen window. "It's what she would have wanted."
I felt my heart slowly start to die, he was letting his company fail because of me.
"I'll start packing." I said, leaving the table. "When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow morning at seven. I've arranged for you to attend Magnolia High, it's a very good school Lucy. But to ensure you don't run in to them you're registered as Layla Hart."
"Layla Hart?"
"It seems fitting. It's similar to your normal name and it was her name."
"I love it. Thank you for doing that papa."
