Ruby stared at the mysterious figure, a mix of curiosity and caution in her eyes. She had never encountered a Grimm that could speak, let alone one that appeared to be human. The man named Wolf seemed calm and composed, his eyes holding a hint of something she couldn't quite place.

Ruby: I'm Ruby... Ruby Rose. I'm a Huntress. What... what are you?

Wolf: A complicated question, Ruby Rose. I am a hybrid, a mixture of human and Grimm. A being caught between two worlds.

Ruby's eyes widened in surprise. Suddenly, you lets out a small chuckle and take off your glove.

Wolf: Just kidding. I'm human.

You reassure her as you wiggle your fingers around. Ruby stares at you before giving you a 'really' look. Nonetheless, she shakes off her lingering uncertainty and walks towards you, cautiously. She pokes your open hand then looks at you.

Ruby: How do I know you didn't just take off the glove to show another glove that was under that glove?

You stare at her as if she was crazy. You sigh and place your glove back on before lifting up your mask to show your face.

Wolf: Happy?

Ruby looks at your features and narrows her eyes.

Ruby: Hmm...Yep! Okay I'm convinced.

You just shook your head and lower your mask back around your face.

Ruby: So...Wolf? Is that a code name or your actual name?

Your head jerks to your right as you take Ruby's hand and run towards a bush.

Wolf: Get down!

Ruby lets out an 'oof' as you both dive into a bush. She looks at you and sits up.

Ruby: Why did you do that?!

You put a finger on your lips, signalling for her to shush. You put your hand out as a sniper appears in your hand.

Ruby marvels at the weapon for only a moment as she suddenly hears a twig snap and snaps her head to look into the open. She double takes between you and the open before equipping her own weapon in its sniper form.

Ruby and yourself watched as trees came tumbling down as a giant grey golem with four levitating limbs, its arms being boulders and its legs being trees, comes crashing through. The golem had red vein-like markings around its entire body. You look up from your scope for only a second and look in astonishment at the giant half rock half tree creature.

Wolf: Fee-fi-fo-fum. What beanstalk did you fall from...?

You whisper to yourself as you look for any sign of a weak spot.

Ruby: It's mask.

You look at Ruby then back at the stone golem through your scope to see the mask she was referring to.

(Y/n): Ah....Come on baby give me a candy bar.

You say. You steady yourself as the golem looks around then at the bush. You hold your breath and get ready to fire. Ruby, however takes the initiative and fires her sniper. She misses her mark just by and inch which makes you look at her as she looks at you.

Ruby: I'm sorry! I panicked! I thought it saw us!

You look back at the golem as it stands up straight before beginning its approach.

Wolf: Run!

You say as you pick Ruby up and push her forward, prompting her to run.

As Ruby and Wolf ran, the ground trembled beneath them with each heavy step the golem took. They weaved through the forest, ducking under branches and leaping over fallen logs, desperately trying to put distance between themselves and the relentless creature.

Ruby: Where are we going? We can't outrun that thing forever!

Wolf: There's a clearing up ahead! We need to make a stand!

They burst into a small clearing, surrounded by tall trees. Wolf quickly assessed their surroundings, searching for any advantage they could use against the golem. Ruby on the other hand, pulls out her scroll.

Ruby: Wolf, distract it! Im calling for back up!

You look at her as if she was crazy.

Wolf: Distract it?!

You see the golem charge through the tree and jump at you. You roll forward but get knocked forward and into a tree. You find yourself momentarily disoriented as you get up and look at the golem.

Wolf: Alright, big guy. Let's dance.

You dodge and weave, narrowly avoiding the golem's attacks. With each agile movement, you analyze its patterns, searching for any vulnerabilities. As the golem swings its arm towards you, you seize the opportunity and leap onto it, scaling its rocky surface.

You reach to your side and grab Rose by its grip.

You fire at the golem only to see its bullets only making little cracks in the rocks.

Wolf: Okay, it was a gamble but good to know it doesn't work.

Soul: Wolf, use your abilities!

You hear Soul speak in your head. You look to the side as you grab ahold of the golem's arm as it tries to shake you off.

Wolf: I don't know how to!

Soul: Remember, focus.

Sceptical about Soul's words. You take a deep breath and free your right hand. You start to focus and as you do, orange sparks emit from your hand. You hear them but focus nonetheless until you feel something appear in your hand. You look to see a glowing knife with flames surrounding it.

Wolf: Now that's a knife.

You say as you then stab the knife into the golem's arm which causes the glow to grow brighter.

Wolf: Oops. Uhh...

Soul: Let it go and jump!

You do as Soul says and let go before jumping off the golem just as the glowing knife explodes, blowing the arm to pieces.

Ruby almost drops her scroll at what she saw as she saw you do a super hero landing and stand up to look at the damage you dealt.

Soul: Now! Your left hand to get your grenade!

You look at your left hand and focus again to summon an interesting looking grenade in your hand. You toss it at the golem to see it get splashed by a bright light. You stood in place looking at the glow for a good three seconds before talking to Soul.

Wolf: Uh...Soul? Where's the kaboom? Isn't there supposed to be a stone and tree monster shattering kaboom?

Soul: That was a restoration grenade...

You freeze up as soon as your heard 'restoration' and stand up straight as the golem beelined towards you.

Wolf: Ah...a mistake has been made. And I own up to it.

You think as you are clotheslined by the golem hard that smacks you into a tree.

Ruby: Oh no!

Suddenly, an explosion hits the golem causing it to stumble to the side. Ruby covers her face then peaks to see Nora holding her grenade launcher up with the barrel smoking.

Nora: Ohh! Another Geist!

Ren and Jaune coming running in from behind. Jaune looks at the Geist and lets out a frustrated sigh before shrugging.

Jaune: At least I have my weapon's and new armour this time...

Nora charges forward, her hammer crackling with electricity, while Ruby uses her speed to flank and confuse the golem. Ren runs around the golem while firing at its face, the Geist however blocks its mask to avoid its most vital part from being hit. It swings on Ruby but Jaune blocks its arm with his shield then swings his sword only to scratch the stone.

Amidst the chaos, you were upside down with your feet in your field of vision and your arms lying flat in front of you. Soul appears in front of you and flies close.

Soul: Rough second day?

He states causing you to groan. His shell bursts, letting out a white energy that was identical to that 'restoration' grenade's effect. You fall to the side as you get up and look at the golem that is now identified as a Geist Grimm.

Soul: You angry?

You just nod as you open and close your right hand.

Wolf: Yeah...and weirdly full of energy...

You say as you look at your right hand. Soul flies next to you and with a serious tone, tells you what to do before disappearing.

Soul: Then channel that 'energy' and release it.

Your whole body begins to glow bright as you then explode in orange fire and hold up a fiery hand cannon which catches Ruby and everyone else's attention.

The eyes of the Grimm mask you wore had fire seeping out of the corners of its 'eyes' as the red eyes had turned orange.

The Geist senses your intense power and immediately charges at you. It throws a hook with its remaining arm but the arm immediately disintegrates and explodes which knocks it down.

You then hip fire blowing the rest of its limbs off and then casually walk towards it.

Wolf: Phew...so sticks and stones definitely break bones-

You then jump onto its middle body and aim at its mask.

Wolf: -But fire and bullets do worse.

You say as you fire and disintegrate the Geist as it ejects out of the boulder. Your cloak blows in the wind causing you to look dramatic to Ruby and the rest of the gang.

Wolf: Soul...if there's more power like this, you gotta show me all of it.

Soul lets out a chuckle.

Soul: One step at a time Guardian.

Nora: Wow...Ruby, who's your new friend?

You look at the orange hair coloured girl and step off the boulder.

Wolf: Wolf...and you are...?

Timeskip~

You sit on a bench with your hand cannon in your hands. You tilt it to the right, bringing out the chamber then tilting it back to the left to put the chamber back into place. You look up, seeing Ruby being paid and splitting it evenly. She then looks at you and comes towards you.

Ruby: And this is yours.

She says. You're surprised but take the money and look at it.

Soul: Their currency comes in the form of cards? How...peculiar.

You silently agree with Wolf and look at Ruby.

Wolf: How come you're giving me some of your guy's share?

Ruby: Well you ARE apart of our team now.

You raise a brow under your mask and pocket the money.

Wolf: I'm sorry...when did this get decided?

Ruby: When you followed us back to the village of course!

You sit there stunned. Although it was nice that she gave you some money that's actually exchangeable in this world. This girl is a nutcase. At least in your mind.

Wolf: Look, Rubes. Can I call you Rubes?

She blushes at the nickname but nods nonetheless.

Wolf: I appreciate the money, mainly cause I can now get a descent bedroll. But, I can go on my own from here.

You stand and holster your hand cannon as Ruby watches you nod to her then nod to the rest of her comrades. You begin to walk off until you hear Ruby again.

Ruby: Nope.

You stop and turn your head slightly.

Wolf: E-Excuse me?

Ruby skips to you and faces you.

Ruby: I said nope.

Wolf: Uh, okay. What do you mean by "nope"?

Ruby: I mean, you can't just walk away now. You're part of our team, whether you like it or not.

You stare at the stubborn red cloaked girl and hear Soul let out a giggle in your head.

Wolf: But I... I didn't agree to join your team. I just helped you out with that Grimm.

Ruby: And that's exactly why you should stay with us! You're strong, resourceful, and we could really use someone like you on our side. I mean, who wouldn't want someone who can hold a fire gun that goes 'BANG' and 'PWOOSH' making Grimm go 'ahhh....' as they explode.

You stare at Ruby, unsure of how to respond. Part of you wants to accept her offer, especially if she was nice enough to give you some of her group's pay, but another part of you still wants to be on your own.

Wolf: Look, Ruby, I appreciate your confidence in me, but I can handle myself.

Ruby: Believe me I saw that, three witnesses saw that too.

She says referring to Jaune, Nora and Ren.

Ruby: But sometimes it's nice to have people you can rely on. We're a team, we watch each other's backs. Besides, you don't have to be alone anymore.

You pause, considering Ruby's words. Until she opens her mouth again while avoiding your gaze.

Ruby: I...have a friend who thinks the same as you. I still think about her everyday and wonder how she's doing...

You could hear the sadness in her voice, even if you were a mile away. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to give this team thing a try. You sigh in a defeated manor.

Wolf: Alright, Ruby. I'll give it a shot.

Ruby grins, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Ruby: Yes! Welcome to Team JNRR, Wolf!

She says and takes your hand while jumping up and down. Jaune and the others look on. He scoffs with his arms crossed.

Jaune: Good to see Ruby's 'Nope' tactic still has effect on people.

He says as Nora wraps her arms around his and Ren's necks.

Nora: You know what this means right?

She asks the two boys as they look at her quizzically.

Nora: A new team name!

She shouts overexcitedly causing Jaune to groan.

Jaune: Nooo...it took us months to come up with an official team name with Ruby.

Jaune grieves while Ren looks down with his eyes darting left and right as if he was already brainstorming.
