HUNTER AND QUINN SAT on the boy's bed, doing their Math homework and talking about that day's Glee rehearsal.
"Do you think they know?" Quinn nervously asked.
"No, I think you're good," Hunter shook his head, "Finn and I talked to Mr. Schue and you won't have to do as much dancing as before."
"Thank you, Hunter," The girl told him, making him look up, "For everything."
"Of course," Hunter smiled, "We're a team."
Quinn sent him a soft smile, gently putting her hand over his, "We're friends."
Hunter's smile widened, as they got back to their work, and the door swing open.
"Hey, Hunter, your Mum wants to know if-" Jonathan stopped talking when he saw his son sat on his bed with a pretty cheerleader sitting next to him, "I didn't know you had company."
"Dad, this is my friend, Quinn." Hunter introduced.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Larklee." Quinn greeted with a polite smile.
"Jonathan, please," The man told her as he nodded back at her, before giving his son a quizzical look, "What happened to Katie?"
"What do you mean?" Hunter asked, confused.
"Oh, uh, nothing," Jonathan shook his head, "I'll leave you two be."
"Thanks, Dad." Hunter muttered, as Jonathan closed the door.
"Unless," Jonathan's head popped back in the room, "Either of you would like anything to eat or drink-"
"We're fine, thanks, Dad." Hunter said, giving his father a look, making the man chuckle slightly and retreat.
Hunter cleared his throat, giving Quinn an apologetic smile, "Sorry about that."
Quinn shook her head, "It's okay."
"You're the third girl to have ever been in my room, so he gets a little... my Dad."
Quinn chuckled, "He seems nice."
"Yeah, he is."
"So, I'm the third girl, huh?" Quinn smirked.
"Well, you know, Mercedes, I've been friends with since I was eight, so of course she's been in here. And then Katie has, too." Hunter shrugged.
"That's your Freshman friend, right?"
"Yeah."
"You two seem to hangout a lot." Quinn noted with a teasing smile.
"Yeah, well, we're friends."
"For now." The blonde girl commented, making him look at her, confused.

Hunter struggled under the weight of his textbooks, as he tried to shove them messily into his locker. The boy smiled in triumph once they were all in there and closed the door of his locker, jumping when he saw Rachel standing next to him.
"I see that you've been hanging out with Quinn a lot lately." She said, arms crossed.
"Congratulations," Hunter rolled his eyes, beginning to walk down the hallway, the girl following him, "Just as I thought you couldn't get more annoying, you manage to pry your way into my personal life."
"You like her, don't you?" Rachel accused.
"Quinn?" Hunter scoffed, "No, she's just my friend. Believe it or not, Rachel, guys and girls can be friends."
"Why weren't you two in rehearsal today, then?"
"She wasn't feeling well, so I drove her home," Hunter said, as they stopped outside of his Algebra classroom, "Now, can I go to class? Because if I don't cop my seat early, then I'll have tp sit with that Jacob dude."
"Jacob Ben Israel?"
"Yeah," Hunter nodded, "I'm almost certain that there are things living in that fro," He muttered, causing Rachel to make a face of agreement and discuss, "So, can I go?"
"One more thing," Rachel said, making the boy groan, "Did you know that Quinn was pregnant?"
Hunter froze, grabbing Rachel's arm and pulling her to the side of the hallway.
"How'd you know that?" He asked in a quiet voice as he looked around him, trying to avoid anyone hearing them.
"Puck told everyone before rehearsals today." Rachel told him.
Hunter clenched his jaw and rolled his eyes, "Of course he did."
"So you did know?"
"I consoled her after she found out."
"So that's why you're so close all of a sudden?" Rachel asked, her shoulders dropping at the news.
"Yeah," Hunter nodded, "And I don't have a crush on her either, so sorry to burst your little diva bubble, Rachel, but you aren't breaking her and Finn up. They have a family now. And you better not get in the way of it." He warned her, before quickly walking into his class.

Excitement buzzed through the choir room, as the Glee Club were getting ready for their first show in front of a crowd.
"There you go ma'am." Hunter said in a cowboy accent.
Quinn felt her hair, "How'd you know how to do hair."
"Mom taught me." Hunter shrugged.
Mr. Schue then entered the room, clapping his hands together, "The house is packed. You guys are gonna kill it. Your first performance in front of a real audience. I can't wait. You guys are going to love it," The man scanned the room, noticing someone was missing, "Where...Where's April?"
On cue, a very intoxicated April Rhodes strutted into the choir room, "Yee-haw!" She exclaimed with a laugh, "Right on cue, as usual. Hey, roller-boy. Handsome. Oh, I like that colour. Have you been working on the, uh, moves we talked..." She went around addressing everyone, stopping in front of Puck and playing with his tie, "You've got something right there, on your..." She then placed a very sloppy kiss on the boy, before turning to Mr. Schue, "There's my boy."
Leaning over to Hunter, Mercedes muttered, "She smells like your Aunt Edna."
Hunter hummed, nodding in agreement, his nose scrunching up at the thought.
"Are you drunk?" Mr. Schue asked, as the woman also played with his tie, "You promised me you'd sober up for this."
"When? Last night?" April asked, "Well, I was drunk. You can't hold me to that." April waved off, before Miss. Pillsbury took Mr. Schue out of the room.
Hunter turned to Mercedes with a shrug, "I mean, she does have a point." He said, making her lightly elbow him in the stomach.
―
Hunter double high fived Finn as they exited the stage, the whole Glee Club on a high after having finished their performance.
April had quit and Rachel came back, so the rest of the show went swimmingly.
"That was awesome!" Finn exclaimed.
"I know!" Hunter cried, as they chest bumped, both grabbing their chests in pain afterward, "Yeah, we're never doing that again."
"Agreed." Finn nodded, as Quinn ran up to the boys, wrapping her arms around the both of them. The two of them hugging back.
"Hunter." A familiar voice said, making the boy turn around, smiling at the sight of the woman in front of them.
"Mom," The boy gasped, quickly going over and pulling her into a gentle hug, "You came."
"Of course I did," Elizabeth smiled, "It's a special night, so they have me a few hours," The tired woman said, "Your father and I are going to Breadstix with Mercedes and her family. Do you wanna come."
"Yeah," Hunter nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah, I'll come."
Elizabeth smiled softly at her son, placing a gentle hand on his cheek, "I love you, Hunter."
The teenager smiled back, "I love you, too, Mom."
