Hey guys! Ack, I never know what to post on this book. But I have to keep the This Is Me tradition going. Until 100 chapters, I will not post the next book. That will probably come a long, long..long time from now.
I thought I should update you on some stuff happening in my life. I'm in a musical! Yes, I am a youth musical theater actress and avidly participate in musicals. The production I'm currently apart of is called "Bye Bye Birdie", a 50's play about a beloved rock star, Conrad Birdie, going into the army. Everybody makes sure he has a grand send-off and all the girls faint and go ga-ga over him even though he's not really that nice of a person from my gatherings. However, I am one of the girls that go ga-ga over him.
I was cast as apart of the teen ensemble (which is AWESOME because I get to be in almost every single dance number) and I was also cast as the Mayor's Wife, also named Edna. I really enjoy my role as the mayor's wife, it's honestly one of the funniest roles I've played. My biggest scene where I get the most exposure is in the song "Sincere." Conrad is singing to a crowd of young girls, young boys, my theater "husband", the mayor, and me, his theater "wife." In the beginning of the song, when Conrad first starts singing, he looks into my eyes and I succumb to his charm and start to almost faint. I stumble around and eventually fall into the arms of the mayor. He helps me up and I say I'm okay. Conrad continues to sing and then I faint, falling to the floor. Actually falling. Thankfully, I don't hit my head, but I get a little sore after doing this.
Then, the mayor has to try and get me up, saying things like, "Come on, Edna, what's the matter with you? It's just the singer! Man, I'm never going to get re-elected, Edna! Why don't you ever faint for me, huh?" The boy playing the mayor is a very nice guy and I can't help but laugh whenever he says something like that while trying to get me up, even though I'm technically supposed to be unconscious. All the girls next to me try to stifle their laughter as well. It's funny for absolutely everyone, including the choreography and director. Honestly, it's such an awesome part that I'm so glad to have! It's a great cast, and it gives me a chance to act and to actually be funny and entertain people. Usually, I'm so shy I can't even talk to people. Now, I have to do it because it's my JOB and my character!
Aside from that, the other thing is in the matter of my piano. I have been taking piano lessons for about 2 or 3 years or so..I don't exactly remember. But my teacher says I have been progressing, and I'm starting to see it for myself. I have just recently learned on my own how to play the first part of "Alla Turca" otherwise known as "The Turkish March" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The song is very lively and at the same time beautiful, the original Mozart way. I really am passionate and spend hours practicing on the piano. I never thought I would reach this point, especially when I was just starting out. I think I have now reached the level of easy intermediate! I'm so excited to be progressing like this over the years.
Now, the last subject of this update. Well, last subject before this mini announcement - Imaginary Friend is almost complete! I know how I'm going to end the story, I'm making the final edits, and then it will be published for good! I'm so excited, I love the story of Imaginary Friend and I've had so much fun writing about the adventures (and misadventures) of Celia and Jack. They're such lovebirds and I shipped them from the start.
NOW the last subject of this update! Can we do an ask or dare me? In the comments, if you want, go ahead and ask me something or dare me something, or do both! I'll answer them in the chapter to follow if you do post. If it goes well, I'll continue it!
That's all for now guys. Thanks for reading! Stay kawaii and bye for now!
