Chapter Two - When I'm 64.

"If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door....?"  - When I'm 64, The Beatles.

-----------------

By the time the clock struck midnight, the afterparty was already in full swing. The entire grounds of the property was full to the brim, making it extremely hot inside. Everyone was wanting to speak to the members of the band, the girls were all over them and the boys were fascinated by how such normal lads from Liverpool could create such an outstanding reputation for themselves.

Paul was inside, giving a boy slightly younger than him some tips on the best way to learn guitar. He sighed contently to himself before pouting his lips slightly as he scanned around the area in which he was stood, trying to find Daisy. His eyes lit up the moment he spotted her, immediately walking in the direction of the balcony and toward her silhouette in the moonlight. He stepped quietly once he was outside, slowly snaking his arms around her waist and pressing a soft kiss to the side of her head.

"Hi, gorgeous." He whispered, resting his chin against her shoulder.

"Me?" Daisy crinkled her nose, looking back at him before glancing down at his hands against her stomach and then back at the sky.

"Who else?" Paul smiled softly, squeezing her gently, "What're you doing, baby?"

"I'm just amazed by the amount of stars that are out tonight." She shrugged, leaning against the railings of the balcony, "It really does make you wonder if there's something out there, doesn't it? Do you think there's more life out there?"

"What, on another planet?" Paul arched a brow, lightly rubbing his hands back and forth over her stomach.

"Yes," Daisy nodded, "We're currently discussing it in class, if we think that there is more life out there and what information we have to support it."

"Well, I mean... It is possible. Perhaps we'll never know and it'll be one of life's big unanswered questions." Paul replied, tilting his head. "Perhaps, for tonight, that can be our star." He reached over her shoulder, pointing towards the sky as he crinkled his nose.

"You do like to be soppy sometimes, don't you?" Daisy giggled, turning back to press a gentle kiss to his lips. Paul grinned playfully and kissed her back softly, bringing her further into him from his hands being around her waist. Daisy made a soft noise and kept her head turned toward Paul, repeatedly making their lips touch before smiling innocently as she pulled away, turning her attention back to the stars. Paul pouted his lips, narrowing his eyebrows once she had pulled away and stepped slightly closer to her again, hugging one of his arms around her waist and carefully brushing her hair over one of her shoulders. He slowly leant forward and kissed the side of her neck, inhaling her scent quietly through his nose. He paused for a second before continuing to trail light, delicate kisses back and forth over her soft skin. Daisy couldn't help but allow her head to hang forward just slightly, desperately forcing herself not to give in to him there and then.

"Come on, beautiful... I can find us a room. There's plenty of rooms.." Paul whispered against her skin, focusing on a certain patch as he lightly sucked on the sensitive area. Daisy let out a small groan, feeling herself growing more dependant on the railing in front of her as her legs weakened, "We can have it all to ourselves, baby... We can do whatever we want while we're in there."

"Paul..." Daisy whimpered breathlessly, keeping her eyes closed as Paul lightly kissed over her skin. Paul slowly lowered his hands and pressed them against her inner thighs, pushing her legs apart slightly as he smirked against her skin, "O-Oh..." She shivered in delight, taking a shaky breath.

"We can fool around behind closed doors, no one has to know.." He whispered seductively into her ear before capturing her earlobe between his lips and starting to tug on it lightly, taking sharp breaths through his nose.

"Paul, Paul..." Daisy whimpered as she repeated herself, "Paul, we can't..." She pouted her lips, making Paul slowly pull his head back with a confused expression.

"But why, baby?" He frowned, carefully spinning Daisy around so she was facing him.

"B-Because it's not our house.." She stuttered, swallowing nervously as she gazed up at Paul's face.

"So?" Paul scowled slightly, clearing his throat and speaking slightly quieter with a smirk, "It's not like it's something we've never done before... We've been to plenty of parties where we've ended up in.. Y'know, a room to ourselves." He shrugged, studying Daisy's face.

"I know, but.. This is Pete's house. He's your drumme-" Daisy tried to speak before Paul cut her off.

"Exactly, he knows us even better, so it's fine!" He widened his eyes slightly, keeping his eyes on hers.

"Imagine how disrespectful that would be towards his mum, though. Mo has done a lot for you boys, and catching you fooling around in one of her bedrooms is not the right way to say 'thank you'." Daisy shook her head, starting to sound slightly more serious about it. Paul took a deep breath and paused for a few moments before nodding in agreement, playfully sticking his bottom lip out.

"Alright, alright..." He frowned, reaching forward for her again as he wrapped his arms back around her waist, tilting his head slightly, "How about just a little smooch here then, hm?"

"Dear god, McCartney, you just don't give up, do you?" Daisy teased with a soft giggle, sliding her hands up Paul's chest until her fingertips met the collar of his leather jacket and starting to play with it as she raised her eyebrows. Paul pressed his lips harder together to stop himself from laughing and trying his best to maintain an innocent expression.

"Nope." He took another step forward, holding his breath slightly until Daisy leaned up and pressed her lips back to his, pushing her fingertips into the hair at the nape of his neck. Paul whimpered softly and tilted his head, kissing her back slightly harder than she had kissed him and started to gently massage his fingertips against her lower back. Before they could barely even take their first breaths, their tongues were already intertwined and meeting with each other, lapping against one another like an animal at it's water bowl. Daisy's fingers repeatedly dived between strands of Paul's dark hair, pressing his face harder to hers each time she did so. Paul smirked against her lips and playfully tugged at her dress, nudging his nose against her.

"Paul!" Daisy giggled, teasingly slapping his hand away as she continued to make their lips meet. Paul chuckled to himself and rested his hand comfortably against her waist, taking an uneasy breath against her lips, "Someone is going to catch us before long."

"Catch me kissing my girlfriend? I don't recall that being a crime." Paul replied against her lips, squeezing her waist gently.

"I don't think Mrs. Best would be very happy." Daisy tried not to laugh, pulling her face back and resting her hands against Paul's shoulders. Paul shrugged carelessly.

"We've done worse," He let out an uneasy chuckle, pushing his hair back at the sides with his fingertips, "What's so different about tonight?"

"I don't want to cause a fuss." She pouted her lips playfully and kept her eyes fixed on Paul's, "You know the amazing reputation you have here, you wouldn't want to get kicked out for using one of the family bedrooms to.. You know."

"I very highly doubt I'd get kicked out for kissing my girlfriend." Paul blinked hard, focusing on Daisy's face with a confused expression.

"I'm only thinking of you and the band." Daisy replied softly, pushing her hair out of her face.

"I'm not quite sure what you're getting at, love." He cleared his throat, resting his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket.

"I'm not trying to get at anything..." Daisy's voice trailed off as she looked around the balcony blankly.

"So you don't want us to kiss in here anymore?" Paul's eyebrows narrowed. Daisy fell silent for a few moments.

"Am I just something to kiss?" She arched a brow, setting her hands on her hips. Paul shook his head and maintained the confused look on his face.

"Darling, you're not making any sense." Paul replied bluntly, "Of course you're not just something to kiss."

"Then why is this such a big deal to you?" Daisy scowled back at him, moving her eyes back to his.

"It's not a big deal and I'm not going to force you to do it, or to do anything you don't want to do. But I do like to kiss you and show you affection of how much I love you." Paul responded calmly.

"I... I just don't feel comfortable doing that in someone else's house." Daisy mumbled, staring down at her feet.

"But, like I said, we've done so much wor-" Paul stopped himself from talking and took a deep breath, looking back down at Daisy, "That's fine. That's all you had to say. If I knew you were uncomfortable, I wouldn't have suggested it in the first place."

"Well, I've said it now." She shrugged and kept her eyes on the ground. Paul squinted his eyes, unsure of why she was acting this way and placed a finger under her chin, carefully lifting her head so her face met his.

"Are you sure you're alright, baby?" Paul swallowed hard, keeping his eyes glued to hers. She nodded slowly and stared up into his eyes, chewing the inside of her lip.

"I- I'm sure... I'm happy here looking at the stars. You're more than welcome to join your friends, if you like." Daisy spoke softly. Paul pouted his lips and nodded.

"Would you like a drink?" He tilted his head, slipping his hands into his pockets.

"I'll come and grab one in a bit." She spoke quietly, turning back to the balcony and leaning against it. Paul stared at her from behind for a few seconds, repeatedly going over their last conversation in his head. He scowled to himself and reluctantly walked away and towards the main part of the party.

"Macca!" A voice called from the corner of the room. Paul turned to the sound of the voice and shook his head with a playful grin when he saw John and George sat down at one of the sofas, each arm around a different girl sat at either side of them.

"Are you enjoying yourself, hm?" Paul crinkled his nose and walked closer to them.

"Oh, you bet," John nodded enthusiastically and widened his eyes mischievously, pursing his lips as he looked at the girls one by one, "Grab yourself a couple and come join us." He wiggled his eyebrows, hearing George chuckle at his comment.

"I've got a girl, thanks." Paul squinted his eyes teasingly and cleared his throat, discreetly glancing over his shoulder at Daisy and sighing under his breath as he spotted her still stood in the same position on the balcony, gazing at the stars.

"Suit yourself." John sniggered, pulling both of the girls closer to him while wiggling his eyebrows. Paul playfully rolled his eyes and shook his head with a soft chuckle before making his way back toward the sea of people and in the direction of the kitchen.

"Hello, girls!" He smirked as several groups attempted to approach him, "I hope you all enjoyed the show." He smiled softly and finally made his way through the squeals, instantly widening his eyes when he spotted all of the alcohol lined up on the kitchen counter. He quickly leant forward and took one of the bottles of beer, opening it carefully with the bottle opener that was in his pocket before taking a small swig.

"Paul... When are you next performing here, hm?" One girl asked, biting her lip nervously. Paul chuckled under his breath from the way she was acting around him.

"U-Uh, well, that was the last show we're playing here for a while," He replied, watching the girl's face instantly drop, "We're heading off to Hamburg again soon, so this was sort of more of a farewell show... Until we get back." He shrugged, taking another drink from the bottle.

"Oh... I think the place will miss you guys. Well, I'll miss you." The girl shrugged innocently and gently bit down on her thumb. Paul arched a brow as he watched her hand meet his arm, rubbing it gently as she gazed up into his eyes.

"Thank you, love. We'll be back before you know it." Paul smiled, starting to feel the situation getting rather awkward.

"Paul..." A voice mumbled from behind him, gently patting his back. Paul turned around and tilted his head slightly, finding Daisy looking up at him, "I'm sorry."

"Sorry?" Paul arched a brow, taking a small sip from the beer.

"For being so blunt with you..." She pouted her lips, gently reaching up to stroke Paul's cheek. Paul took a deep breath, suddenly feeling all the confusion from beforehand disappear. He smiled softly and shook his head, reaching up to take her hand and squeezing it gently. He couldn't be cold with Daisy. She was quite literally his weakness - she could say or do the right thing to make him happy in an instant.

"Don't worry about it, baby... I shouldn't have attempted to force myself upon you," He bit his lip gently, kissing the back of her hand and sighing softly, "You're right, we're playing here thanks to Pete and his mum, they wouldn't be happy if the way I said thank you was by them finding me and you together in one of their bedrooms." Daisy shook her head and leant up to peck Paul's lips, grinning.

"Shh. You didn't do anything wrong." She whispered, giggling quietly against Paul's lips as he kissed her back and feeling his free arm snake around her waist. Paul watched from the corner of his eye as the other girl left. He didn't even care. Before he met Daisy, he wanted to be surrounded with as many girls as possible. Now she was the only girl he wanted to be with.

"Do you want to head off, love?" He whispered softly as they slowly pulled out of the kiss. Daisy nodded and pressed her lips together, hugging Paul's arm. Paul crinkled his nose and leant down to peck her head, "I'll just tell the lads we're off."

"Alright, I'm ready when you are." Daisy smiled softly and walked with Paul as he made his way back over to John and George

"Lads, we're going. I think I better get back before dad calls out a search party." Paul chuckled, shaking his head.

"What that translates to is, 'there's no available rooms, so we're going down a dirty alley way for a knee trembler'." John crinkled his nose, chuckling to himself as George laughed along with him.

"Piss off, Lennon." Paul playfully rolled his eyes, shoving him teasingly with his hand against his shoulder.

"Stay safe." John winked, clearly amused by Paul's reaction. Paul shook his head and narrowed his eyes, lightly rubbing Daisy's arm.

"I'll see you at band practice." Paul smiled sarcastically and turned away, heading toward the door on the left, "I'm just going to use the bathroom, love." He sighed softly and turned to push the door open, instantly widening his eyes as he was met with the scene of Pete drowning in several women. He gasped softly and glanced down at them, only to immediately regret it seconds later. Pete didn't even notice. He was too engaged in his pile of women. Paul chuckled to himself, turning back to Daisy as she laughed in a shy tone, almost feeling embarrassed for Pete while Paul closed the door, "And you were worried about Pete or his mum finding us in a room."

"Shh, you." Daisy giggled, playfully pushing his sides and walking back toward the exit with him, "Aren't you going to use one of the other bathrooms?"

"I won't bother, I'll probably run into someone else in another bathroom." Paul laughed, reaching back down for Daisy's hand and squeezing it gently. "I can wait, baby."

"Oh, you're a big, grown boy, are you?" Daisy teased, following Paul out of the door and down the stairs.

"Well, you can answer that." Paul winked as they reached the bottom of the stairs. Daisy gasped dramatically and squeezed Paul's hand harshly, feeling her cheeks growing pink. Paul grinned smugly to himself and lead them both around the corner, instantly smiling widely at Mo.

"Paul! Are you two taking off?" She raised a brow, holding her arms out for a hug.

"Yes... Dad will be worrying." Paul shrugged with a playful pout, leaning forward to hug Mo goodbye.

"Ah, well, get home safe!" Mo grinned, squeezing Paul gently before giving Daisy a hug.

"Thanks, Mo. Thank you for allowing us to play here again." Paul smiled appreciatively, zipping his leather jacket up as the chilly breeze started to whistle through the air.

"You're welcome, as always, Paul. You boys really are something else." Mo sighed softly, waving as Paul and Daisy made their way down the path, "Have an amazing time in Hamburg, we'll be here to welcome you with open arms when you get back!" She called, holding her arms out playfully.

Paul shook his head with a wide grin and gazed down at Daisy, gently rubbing her side as they strolled down the dark street.

"She's bloody fantastic. I love Mo." Paul beamed, hugging his arm around Daisy.

"She is pretty great, she's so good to you guys." She crinkled her nose, walking closely by Paul.

"She sure is." Paul spoke as the corners of his lips curled into a smile again. He couldn't help but smile, everything right now was so good for him. He had everything he'd ever wanted. The band, almost the career, the family, and the girl. Although, what he wished for more than anything was that his mother could be here to see it. He hoped he was doing her proud, the thought of her guidance watching over him was one of his biggest drives in life. He also hoped that she was happy with the way he was treating Daisy; he'd been brought up to treat everyone with respect. Daisy was like finding gold for Paul; he didn't ever want to let her go and he treat her like the most valuable thing on the planet. Every time he saw her, he couldn't help but fall in love with her.

Once they reached Daisy's street, Paul turned to her and brought her hand to his lips, lightly rubbing them against the back of it.

"Would you like to stay at mine for the night?" Paul questioned, turning to her and taking both of her hands, rubbing his thumb against the back of them gently, "Or am I dropping you off here?"

"You know your dad doesn't like it when girl's stay the night." Daisy frowned and turned to face Paul, squeezing his hands gently.

"I don't care, love... We could have a lovely night." Paul bit his lip, raising his eyebrows.

"We can't, Paul..." Daisy shook her head, narrowing her eyebrows.

"We can sneak around! It'll be fun, baby... Plus, I want to cuddle you. I haven't slept next to you for too long." Paul pouted his lips and blinked hard, lacing his fingers with hers.

"I- I need to go, Paul. I need to go inside. If mum and dad see us out here, they'll go insane. I'll have to sneak into the house as it is." Daisy swallowed hard, leaning up to peck Paul's cheek. Paul scowled slightly and cleared his throat, nodding slowly.

"Alright, baby... I'll see you soon." Paul whispered, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her lips.

"You will. Get home safely, Paul." Daisy smiled softly and kissed him back gently, resting her hands on his chest.

"I love you." He spoke softly, sliding his hands into his pockets as she walked up the path.

"I love you, Paul." Daisy turned her head, looking back as she spoke. Paul smiled lovingly, waving at her and watching until she had stepped inside her house and closed the door. Once he knew she was safe inside, he turned back toward the path and in the direction of his house.

As he made his way back home, the confusion re-entered his head. Why didn't she want to be with him tonight? One minute she did, next minute she didn't... He didn't know what to think.

He swallowed hard and pushed his gate open before walking toward the door and placing his hand firmly on the handle, trying to open the door.

"Goddamn it." He mumbled under his breath. He should've taken his dad seriously when he said that he would lock the door and not allow Paul to have a key. Paul sighed heavily. He knew what he had to do, this had happened quite a few times before. He pushed his hands back into his pockets and walked through the small alley-way between his house and his neighbour's. Once he entered his back garden he walked toward the drainpipe fixed against the wall, looking it up and down as he rested his hands on his hips. He took another step forward and took a deep breath, rubbing his hands together before gripping onto the drainpipe firmly and jumping slightly, starting to hoist himself up it and toward the bathroom window. He could hear his leather pants and jacket squeak with each movement, scowling slightly as he tried his best to keep his concentration. As he got closer to the window, he noticed a figure peering out of it. He gasped quietly, unable to tell who it was for a few moments.

"You should've listened to dad." Mike's voice chuckled as he opened the window, holding out a hand for Paul to grab onto as he made his way closer to the window.

"Shut up." Paul chuckled, grasping onto Mike's hand and stepping onto the window ledge before lifting himself up slightly and working his way through the open window, stepping down onto the toilet seat as he let go of Mike, "How did you know I was here?"

"Well, I think you're the only person who uses our drainpipe as an entrance to the house." Mike laughed back at him and shrugged his shoulders, leaning up to close the window.

"You have a point... He didn't her, did he?" Paul asked, swallowing hard as he walked toward the door and in the direction of his room. Mike shook his head, following Paul out of the bathroom.

"Not what I know of." He replied.

"Well, thank god." Paul widened his eyes, pushing his bedroom door open, "Goodnight." He spoke as he walked into his bedroom.

"Night, Paul." Mike nodded, making his way into his own bedroom.

Paul hung his jacket over the back of his door, stepping out of his shoes before pulling his pants and shirt off, leaving himself in his boxers. He carefully tucked his clothes away, hopefully somewhere where his father wouldn't see. He brushed through his hair thoroughly before shaking his head firmly, trying his best to get some of the vaseline out before placing his brush down and climbing into bed. He pulled the covers over him and turned on his side, tugging them over his shoulder. He longed for Daisy to be in front of him. He wanted to wrap his arm around her and fall asleep with his face buried in the crook of her neck. Instead, he fell asleep with the confusing thought of why she didn't want to be there.
