Chapter 10: Apologys

She head felt heavy and her body felt so much pain, like tiny knives stabbed her skin even time she moved. Both cold and burning at once, a storm of contradiction brewing in her body. She opened my eyes and looked around, the silk sheets shifting as she sat up slowly.

"Mmmmm...where am I?" She asked herself. lifting her body to a sitting position and taking in her surroundings. From what she saw she was in some type of tavern resting in a rather luxurious bed after that minor set back in the throne path, the effects of which she still felt on her skin, lightly stinging her nerves with each movement. The bed was a round mattress set atop golden rod keeping it about 4 inches from the ground, clearly made for a human sized being to lay in, the rods extending above in a ring over her head and hung what she liked to call 'Sleeping Beauty curtains'. Just some sheer   white fabric that showed only shadows around her.

She heard the faint sound of rain and distant chatter through the walls of her room, clanking dishware. The smell of her favorite diner foods filled the air as she walked for and song birds singing just below all other sounds.it was a pleasant way to wake up after such a sudden and honestly terrifying wake.

Feeling that she had taken in enough of these overly fabulous surroundings she slipped out of the bed and walked to the door. a light push set it flying open and revealing the labyrinth again. Right where she left Hoggle.

Hoggle stood frozen, everything did. even stranger birds overhead stood still as she opened the door but once she stepped foot onto the cobblestone path, everything began to move again and the faintest sounds of a clock ticking rang in the back of her mind. As if time froze for her.

"Ah Yolanda, come on we're close to the center.' Hoggle said as he continued to walk forward in the path.

Yolanda looked at him in confusion and followed behind him, her mind pondering the whole time. 'Was that a dream, a hallucination, a brief mental snap?' She wasn't sure but when she puts her hand in her pockets she didn't find the crystal ball but a small scrape of parchment in it's place. Pulling it out she read the scribbled script on the paper, it was an apology for such a shock however the person that wrote the letter had said they were impressed with how they had handled this small test and was excited to see how she does moving forward. She could only stare at the handwriting, amazed that it was simultaneously spiritic and scribbled onto the page, and yet it was constant and neatly scribbled, giving it a elegant and frantic manner. She decides to keep it as she shoved it inside her pocket  where she had first found it, still slightly sad that she had lost such a beautiful crystal. It did confirm one thing for her, the game was rigged to help her win and that week she had spend in this dream world was real. she would have to see if she could confirm more of her theory.
