Chapter 12: Keeping The Promise
Lucy's P.O.V.

Now:

"N-Natsu?" I studered. Standing before me was none other than my Natsu. My fiance. The father to my child.

"Hey Luce!" He gave me his oh so familiar smile like nothing had happened. Like he had not been dead for the last five years.

Before I knew it I was crying. I stormed up to Natsu, slapped him across the face, then pulled his face to mine for a kiss.

Once we finally pulled away I slapped him again.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?!" Natsu yelled

"That was for dying." Another slap. "That was for leaving me." Slap. "And that was for not telling more about-" as if right on que, Nashi sprinted into the room.

"Storm couldn't play, mommy," she said completely oblivious to Natsu.

"And why was that?" I asked kneeling down to her height.

"Auntie Juvia is having more babies!" Nashi cried happily.

"Babies?"

"Two of them!"

"Twins? Huh, Grey doesn't seem like he'd have three kids."

Natsu cleared his throat. Nashi turned towards him and made a face.

"Who's he?" She asked looking sorta disgusted.

I laughed. "Nashi, sweetie, this is Natsu. Your father," I said.

Nashi gave him a once over.

"No."

"What?" I asked, startled.

"I said no," Nashi replied crossing her arms. "He doesn't look like a hero. You said daddy was a hero."

"I don't... WHAT?!?" Natsu yelled.

Nashi stuck her tounge out at Natsu. "Also, you said that my daddy wasn't ever coming back. This person is here, therefore he is not my father."

"Oh, why you little-" I cut Natsu off.

"Nashi, baby, I thought your father wasn't coming back. Even you can't deny the similarities between you and Natsu," I reasoned.

Nashi once again gave Natsu a once over. Then she looked at me, tears if happiness streaking my cheeks.

"But he made you cry."

"These are tears of joy, honey."

"No, not now. Everyday. You cry over daddy everyday. You think no one can hear you, but I do. Mommy, he made you cry." She glared at Natsu.

"Well how would you feel if you thought Storm died?" Nashi gasped.

"He wouldn't do that. H-He promised he wouldn't."

"Yeah? So did Natsu." Natsu hugged me from behind.

"But I came back," he said. I felt tears on the back of my head where Natsu's head wad laying. "There wasn't a day I didn't think about you. You need to know that."

"How did you survive? You were dead."

"Well..."

Flashback!!!
Natsu's P.O.V.

When I woke I could only think of one name.

Lucy.

My head was in so much pain, my chest felt like it was I fire. I didn't know where I was. I was in some sort of cave, a lot like mine, only out looked like a blue geode.

"Where am I?" I asked groggily to no one in particular.

"NATSU!" A sweet voice said from across the room. I looked to see the owner and saw my cousin, Wendy, and her cat, Carla. "You're awake!"

"Wendy?" I asked, sitting up. That was a bad idea.

"Don't sit up!" Wendy cried. "You need your sleep!"

"What happened?" I asked laying back down.

"You died," she said simply. "I couldn't get to you sooner. I'm sorry!"

"What about Luce?"

"Queen Heartfilia? She's alive, if that's what you're wondering. But she's still at the castle. Why?"

"When the soonest can I get out of here?" I asked.

"Well, considering you died..." she made calculations on her fingers. "About four and a half years."

"WHAT?!?" I yelled. "LUCE CAN'T TAKE CARE OF HER ON HER OWN!" I freaked out.

"Calm down Natsu," Wendy pleaded.

"You need to take care of her," I said to Wendy. "Please take care of Luce. She can't raise her on her own. Please!"

"I... You... fine," Wendy finally caved. "But in return you need to rest. I'll go to the castle right now."

I grabbed Wendy's arm before she could leave. "And please don't tell her I'm alive. She'll come looking for me. She can't do that on her condition."

"Fine."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

After Wendy left I mumbled to myself. "I will keep my promise Luce. I'll come back."

End flashback!!!
Lucy's P.O.V.

I turned to Nashi. "Do you think he knows we can't see flashbacks?"I asked her.

"I don't know," she replied.

"Basically Wendy healed me and I had to rest for these five years," Natsu said clearing that up.

"Yes," Nashi suddenly said.

"Huh?" I asked.

"I said yes. Natsu is my daddy. Mommy loves him, so I do too," Nashi smiled.

TADA!!! Hello hatchlings. I know that was probably a ready crappy ending but I don't care.

I'm debating on doing an epilogue. Thoughts?
