Rolly Chair!
"Dadd, can we play Shark?"
"Aw sorry mate, I cant play games with you, my arm's hurt,"
Bluey doesnt know how she managed to forget that her dad's arm was in a large dark blue sling in a bent position. Its pretty noticeable now that she backed up her head a bit.
"Oh..." Bluey's tail dropped and Bingo's ears fell forward as they looked down.
"Sorry girls," her dad frowned.
"How did you break your arm anyways?"
"Uh.."
=========
The Maroons won!
Everyone watching jumped and yelled in joy.
Socks and Muffin were with Chilli at their cousin's house, so they could be as loud as their heart desired.
Stripe hopped on the couch, spilling a bit of his beer in the process, "FUCK YEAHHH," he let out a war cry as his tail helicoptered behind him. He started to do his victory dance, swinging his hips side to side and moving his elbows back and forth.
Mackenzie's dad and Frank side hugged and lifted their drinks, celebrating the Maroon's victory.
Pat grabbed Fido, who has been staring at the screen blank-faced since the beginning, and lifted him up in a tight hug.
"Woah mate!" Fido chuckled in confusion. Bandit knew he has never been much of a sports guy, but Pat dragged the chocolate labrador along to watch the game that night anyways.
In a moment of excitement, and Bandit has to admit, a bit of drunkenness, he joined his brother on the couch.
He then let out a cry just like Stripe, but instead of dancing, he leaped forwards.
Arm first right onto the foldable table.
========
"A little accident happened last night," Bandit smiled nervously and looked away.
Bluey worked her brain to think of another game that she can play with her sister and dad.
"I got it!" Bluey yelled out, "we can play hospital!"
Bingo perked up, "yeah!"
Their dad looked up nervously, "oh no,"
========
Bluey clicked away on her computer.
Working as a hospital receptionist is rather stressful, she thought, theres so many documents to go through everyday.
She suddenly heard footsteps in front of her and looked up to see a large blue heeler, his arm is in a sling.
"Can I get the doctor to check on my arm please?"
Bluey shook her head, "Daddd, you cant wear your sling! You havent went to the doctor yet remember?"
Her dad sighed and frowned, "come on Bluey, cant we just pretend?"
Bluey shook her head again, why cant he just understand?
"No, we have to make this realistic!"
Bandit sighed one more time, "ok then,"
He walked backwards, took off his sling, and layed it on a chair. Bandit let out a bit of a wince and quickly used his other hand to support his arm.
"And pretend you're in a lot of pain!" Bluey added.
Clearly displeased, Bandit nodded, and just like a lightswitch, he started yelling in pain and stumbled towards the receptionist desk.
Bluey got concerned, "Okay sir, can I get your name?" She spoke quickly to get him help as fast as she could.
The heeler breathed heavily, and he fell onto one knee, "Tibbles,"
Bluey nodded and typed it into her computer, she got up and put her hand onto Tibble's shoulder, "Wait here sir,"
Bluey ran upstairs and grabbed a rolly chair from her dad's office.
Dad doesnt use it anymore so its fine.
She started to pushed it back to Tibbles but encountered the flight of staircases.
"Well thats a problem,"
Within 5 seconds of problem solving, she lifted up the chair and started carrying it downstairs.
Thank the skies for her unusually strong 6 year old muscles.
She moved it downstairs and started pushing it to Tibbles again.
"Here you go sir, please sit on this wheelchair,"
Tibbles grunted and pushed himself up onto the chair, he was still breathing really heavily Bluey noticed.
Bluey started pushing Tibbles, she ran at full speed through the house, occasionally swerving around random toys on the ground.
"WOAH! Bluey slow down!" She heard her dad yell in front of her, he sounded very nervous.
Of course, she ignored him, "I have to get you to the doctor's room quickly,"
With one tight swerve around a corner, they arrived at their destination.
Bandit was quite shaken up, Bluey helped him off the rolly chair and laid him on a mattress. She stood next to him with her hands behind her back.
She pat his muzzle in a reassuring way, "The doctor will be here soon,"
Bandit sighed and relaxed into the mattress, still holding onto his arm.
========
Soon, Bingo appears at the doorframe with stethoscope around her neck, she strode over to her dad and leans over him.
"What has been bothering you sir?" She spoke with a light she-doesnt-even-know accent.
"My arm really hurts doctor, can you take a look at it please?"
Bingo took off her stethoscope and put it on properly. She placed the chestpiece against her dad's arm and listened intently.
A few seconds later, she retrieved the chestpiece and nodded to herself, "Yeah, its broken. Looks like we need to move you to the surgery room,"
Tibbles raised an eyebrow, "what, why? Cant you just put my arm in a plaster and call it a day?"
"Doctors orders!" Bluey cut in. She pulled up Tibbles into a sitting position and pulled him towards the rolly chair.
She heard a sharp and painful yelp behind her.
"Bluey, careful!"
Bluey didnt notice that she had grabbed him by his broken arm.
She hoisted Tibbles onto the chair and stood behind it, "Okay, next destination, surgery room,"
Bandit could only gulp before being pushed at full speed again.
The bumpiness caused by the wooden floor made the ride way more scary than it already was. Bandit tried to grip onto the seat but quickly realized that he shouldnt be doing that when he felt a sharp pain in his arm. He reached back up to support his broken arm.
There goes his little bit of security.
They skid to a halt at the foot of the staircase that leads up to the bedrooms.
"Wait a minute, we're going upstairs?!"
"Yeah, thats where the surgery rooms are," Bluey placed her finger on her chin, "hmmm, how do we get you there?" She mumbled to herself.
Bandit immediately shot up out of the chair, "Dont worry about it nurse, I can get up the stairs by myself," he smiled, insisting on letting him go up by himself.
Bluey protested, "But you're hurt!"
"Im feeling a lot better now, promise. I insist nurse, I dont want to bother you by helping me up the stairs," Bandit put his hands up.
"Hmmmm, fine. But as soon as we get up there you're going right back on the wheelchair mister," she put up a finger and quickly turned it downwards towards the rolly chair.
The two made their way up the stairs, and to Bandit's surprise, Bluey carried the chair with very little problems.
"Okay we're up, now get back on the chair Tibbles," Bluey bossed.
Bandit had to suppress a groan before flopping back onto the rolly chair, "Remember to be careful with me Bluey," he added more seriously.
"Yeah yeah," The blue puppy waved it off, "lets go!"
They were off again.
Bandit felt fear corse through him the same way the wind is rushing through his fur as they sped through the halls.
Suddenly, the wheels on the chair were caught on a stuffed pig that was forgotten about.
With the sudden stop and momentum from being launched forward on the stuffie, Bandit was flung forwards.
He cried out painfully as he crashed onto the floor, landing on his bent arm.
"Dad!" Bluey called out as well.
She ran around the rolly chair and knelt next to her dad.
Bandit lied on the ground, curled up and gripping onto his arm. His teeth were gritted and his eyes squeezed shut in a pained expression.
"Dad are you okay?" Bluey asked, concerned. When she was ignored, she kept kneeling next to her dad. Regret finally hit her and she frowned.
After a while, Bandit let out a shaky breath and picked himself up to sit cross-legged. His eyes remained closed and he started taking slow and deep breaths.
"Are you okay dad?" Bluey asked again.
Bandit slowly opened his eyes and turned towards his daughter, "yeah mate, Im fine,"
"What happened?" Bingo appeared out the door of her parent's bedroom after realizing that her patient was taking longer than usual to arrive.
"Im so sorry Dad. I should've been more careful," Bluey apologized, her head down and her tail between her legs.
Bandit weakly smiled at her, "I forgive you Bluey,"
Bluey lifted her head and smiled back.
Despite not having any context, Bingo jogged over, "Are you going to be okay dad?"
Bandit nodded, "yeah, it'll just take longer to heal. Can you go get my sling from your playroom Bingo?" He nodded towards the room.
"Okay!" Bingo hurriedly ran to the room and soon came back with the sling. She handed it to her dad, who thanked her before putting it on.
Bluey looked down again, "you can stop playing hospital with us dad, you dont need to play anymore until you're okay again,"
She looked up when she felt a strong paw on her head.
Bandit rubbed her in between her ears, "its alright kid, as long as the game doesnt involve anything risky, I can play,"
"Oi Bandit! You good mate?!" They heard Pat call from outside. Seems like he heard Bandit yell in pain.
Bandit got up and went over to the balcony. He looked down to look at Pat leaning on his fence and called back, "Im good Pat! Bumped my arm a bit!"
"Hows your arm holding up table diver?" Pat smiled.
Bandit rolled his eyes, "its doing fine! How's your car doing drunk driver?!"
Pat furrowed his brows and opened his mouth while placing his hand on his chest and taking a step back, in what Bandit was guessing, was an offended gasp, "Fido was driving me just so you know! All I did was distract him! And for the record, we only bumped into a tree!" He yelled back.
"Try getting the mechanic to believe that!" The blue heeler retorted, his smile big on his face.
Bluey tilted her head at what her dad said, the gears in her brain started turning.
"I got it!" Bluey blurted. Bandit turned around to look at his daughter, "I know what we can play without hurting dad!"
=========
Bingo walked over to her customer with her crate of tools in her hand, "What seems to be the issue here?"
Bandit layed still on the ground.
"My car is making really weird noises mechanic, can you take a look at him please?" Bluey spoke to Bingo.
Bingo nodded and started to lightly poke and prod at her dad's head.
"BROOM, BROOM BROOM! VRRRRRRRRRR-" Bandit emitted noises as his daughter poked him.
Bingo did a double take, "woah," she stopped and turned to bluey, "Yeah, your car is very broken miss,"
Bluey's eyebrows furrowed in concern, "can you fix it?"
The red heeler's tail started wagging, "of course I can! But Im going to need your help,"
"I can help!" Bluey's tail started wagging too.
As they poke and prodded at their dad with various tools, their dad made various noises too.
Suddenly...
"BOOM!"
"Oh... thats not good,"
