Chapter 8 - Boys in the Springs

The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the hot spring as the boys gathered in the water, the steam rising around them. The atmosphere was relaxing, but the peace was about to be shattered by none other than Denki Kaminari and Kirishima.

Without warning, both of them sprinted to the edge of the hot spring, and in a synchronized move, they leapt into the air, performing massive cannonballs that sent a tidal wave crashing into the others.

SPLOOSH!

The shockwave hit Bakugo full force, drenching him in water. He shot up, face twisted in fury. "You damn idiots!" he yelled, his voice rising above the laughter of the others. "You're dead!"

Kirishima and Denki, still laughing, sprinted away from the edge, dodging Bakugo's wrath as he stomped after them, cursing like a storm.

"You think that's funny, huh?! COME BACK HERE, YOU BASTARDS!" Bakugo's voice echoed through the springs.

The three of them darted around in a wild circle, Bakugo chasing them with all the speed and rage of a feral animal, his explosive quirk sparking at his fingertips. Denki and Kirishima were clearly enjoying every second of it, weaving around the water, each time just barely escaping Bakugo's grasp.

Meanwhile, Mineta was taking a break from the chaos. "Hey, Sero! Koda!" he said with a mischievous grin, "Wanna come with me to peek at the girls in the hot spring?"

Koda's face turned pale at the suggestion. "What? No way!" he exclaimed, horrified at the thought. "I'm not doing that. That's creepy."

Shoji, who had been silently enjoying the hot spring, turned his head, his many eyes narrowing at Mineta. "Mineta, knock it off. Koda would never do something like that."

"Yeah, Mineta, that's... that's gross," Sero added, looking disgusted. "You really need to stop being a criminal."

Mineta groaned, sinking lower into the water, his cheeks turning red from the teasing. He muttered under his breath, "Geez, you guys are no fun."

"Are you guys—are you gay or something?" Mineta asked loudly, looking over at Sero and Koda, who were clearly avoiding Mineta's antics.

The question caught the group off guard, and for a moment, the water went still. Then, as if on cue, a burst of laughter echoed from the group, led by Deku, Sato, and Iida.

"What?" Mineta barked, splashing the water in frustration. "I'm just asking! It's not a crime to—"

"Shut up, Mineta," Bakugo snapped as he ran past, still chasing Denki and Kirishima. "You're really starting to piss me off."

Tokoyami, who had been standing quietly on the edge of the water with only his feet submerged, suddenly caught Deku's attention. He had been unusually reserved for the entire trip.

"Hey, Tokoyami, why don't you get in the water?" Sato asked, his deep voice cutting through the conversation. He stepped out of the spring, droplets of water dripping from his muscular frame.

Tokoyami, however, didn't answer right away. He was lost in thought, his sharp eyes fixed on something distant.

"I... I'm fine here," he muttered.

Deku looked at him with concern. "You sure? You've been standing there for a while. You should relax, man."

But before Tokoyami could respond, Dark Shadow suddenly emerged from his shadow, causing the group to freeze for a moment.

"He's thinking about Tsuyu!" Dark Shadow shouted, his voice far too loud for Tokoyami's liking.

The boys froze, looking at Tokoyami in surprise.

"Wait, wait, what?" Bakugo said, his voice dripping with disbelief. "Tokoyami's thinking about Tsuyu?"

Tokoyami's face turned a shade of red that could rival a tomato, and he quickly tried to shove Dark Shadow back into the depths of his shadow.

"Shut up, Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami hissed, clearly embarrassed.

"Oh my god, Tokoyami!" Mineta yelled, suddenly grinning. "You kissed her?! You're making moves on vacation?"

Bakugo, who had been ready to punch Mineta for being annoying, paused. "No way. You're actually making out with her?"

Tokoyami grumbled, looking away, his face still flushed. "We did not kiss—"

"Then why are you blushing?" Mineta teased. "Come on, tell us! How did it happen? How did you know?"

Tokoyami crossed his arms and sighed. "I just... I like her, okay?"

Todoroki, who had been relatively quiet until now, leaned forward, his eyes narrowing slightly. "How do you know if you like a girl, though?" he asked, genuinely curious.

The group fell silent, and each boy began to offer their own thoughts.

"If you're always thinking about her," Sero said, his tone light and casual.

"If she's got a luscious body," Mineta mumbled under his breath, earning a glare from the others.

"If she makes you feel manly," Kirishima added with his signature grin.

"When you can listen to her talk for hours without getting bored," Deku said, his voice filled with sincerity.

"When she scolds you and hits you," Denki said, his face serious but his tone full of mischief.

The entire group went silent for a beat, staring at Denki in disbelief. Bakugo, who had been ready to scold him, exploded into laughter.

"What the fuck, Denki?" Bakugo laughed, wiping tears from his eyes. "Seriously?"

Todoroki, still processing all the information, turned to Tokoyami. "Is that... what love is? Do you agree with that?"

"No," Shoji said, shaking his head with a deep sigh. "That's just... not it."

"Okay, okay, we're just not going to listen to Denki," Iida interjected, trying to regain some order.

The group burst into laughter again, and the tension surrounding Tokoyami melted away. The mood lightened, and they quickly shifted to playing a game of truth or dare.

One dare led to another, and with each challenge, the group grew closer, the Eerieness of Tokoyamis silence slowly fading away as the boys had fun and forgot their worries. But in the back of Tokoyamis mind, one thought lingered: Tsuyu.

And as the laughter continued, Dark Shadow whispered quietly, "You'll figure it out."
