You Okay?
She placed her hand on her knee and pushed herself up, instantly becoming dizzy and she started to loose her balance.
Just yesterday morning, had she been on patrol and landed on an abandoned fishing boat to investigate. Turned out, people on the boat had suffered from the Scourge of Odin, a rare sickness that could wipe out entire Viking villages in days.
One person had survived when she was there. He was barely alive but he had managed to grab her arm and scratch her.
She had got the sickness and was half gone when Hiccup had given her the antidote. The green solution, - the saliva mixed with her plant the Buffalord was eating.
Astrid looked up and her vision went black for a second. Just like those times when you stand up to fast and you're vision darkens for some moments before it returns.
She lost her balance and prepared herself for the hit but there was none. Her hands met the warm leather of a familiar person.

Hiccup's hands landed on her shoulders and he bent his knees to make her landing a little softer. Slowly, he straightened himself with a small smile.
Astrid's hands had landed on his chest, - or, like, slightly under it. Not that he minded. He cared about her. He had even said that he couldn't imagine a world without her in it.
Because, it was true. He couldn't. He didn't want to imagine what a world without Astrid would feel like.
He loved the girl. And, if it meant to sacrifice his own life for her, then he would. He just hoped that she would forgive him after that.
Hiccup turned his head towards Fishlegs who was standing slightly in front of them. "Get the arrows ready, we have a funeral to attend to, today. We'll be there soon too," Hiccup whispered and Fishlegs nodded before smiling at Astrid and striding off, telling the others.
The gang took a last look at them before flying off. Toothless and Stormfly stayed, of course.

She didn't really have the strength to straighten up and to hold herself up just jet. So, she leaned into his warmth, her eyes closed. The side of her head met his chest and Hiccup smiled slightly, moving his hands to her back.
"I'm glad you're alright, Astrid," He said and looked down at her. Astrid swallowed, still a little beaten up by the sickness. She was still slightly green around her eyes and her nose was still a little red but it would be over soon.
He hoped that it would, at least.

They stood there, Astrid slightly shivering by the wind that was blowing over the island. Hiccup tightened his arms around her to keep her warm and pulled her against him. Their stomachs met and he just felt so full of life suddenly.
Why? He didn't know.
Was it probably because Astrid was in his arms? Of because she had just survived the worst decease there was? Probably.
The blonde smiled and moved in his arms, her hands gripping the leather slightly. She felt her strength coming back to her and stood up, holding onto Hiccup for support.
Astrid looked up and was met with the soft smile of the boy she cared deeply about. "Hiccup?" She fought out, her voice a little raspy. "Astrid. How are you feeling?" He asked slowly but directly.
"F-fine I guess."
She cleared her throat and placed her hands on his shoulders, looking him in the eyes. "I'm glad you're okay," Hiccup said and exhaled deeply. "I was so worried about you."
"Huhm," She hummed and slokwy pulled away her hands from his shoulders. However, her right hand trailed down his arm and her fingers slowly shod over his hand, lingering at his fingertips before letting go.
"Come on, we have that funeral now for the persons on the fishing boat. Do you, probably wanna say their goodbye?" Hiccup asked and looked at her curiously.
"I guess I could do that."
"You don't have to if you won't want."
"Nah, it's fine."

"...There do I see my father, my mother and my brothers and my sisters. They bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla. Where the brave shall live...forever."
They shot their flaming arrows at the ship and watched as it slowly caught fire.
Astrid bowed her head after the others had left and it was only her and Hiccup left. "Astrid? What's wrong?" He asked and flew closer to her.
"I...I just, I wish I could've done something. Maybe, if I could've discovered the ship sooner, then they wouldn't have been-" Hiccup interrupted her.
"There was nothing you could do, Astrid. That is the past. That's is how it was supposed to be. There was nothing neither of us could've done. I'm sorry, Astrid," Hiccup said and looked at her.
Astrid signed and looked at the ship. "I'm sorry," She whispered, her voice disappearing in the wind.
Hiccup smiled at her and breathed in. "Come on, let's go home and relax."
•••
They got off their dragons at their own huts and prepared to walk in before they looked at each other.
Astrid looked down at her hand that was laying on her doorknob. She looked at Hiccup who was still standing there.
Without thinking, she let go of her door, told Stormfly to get inside and a second later, begun to run. She ran over the bridge connecting their huts and towards him.
"Thank you!" Astrid exclaimed just before running into his arms and wrapping her own around his neck. "I don't know what I would've done without you, today. Thank you so much for everything, Hiccup."
"It was nothing, you would've done the same for me."
"Yeah."
Silence.
"I can't imagine a world without you in it, Hiccup," Astrid said, her heart beating rapidly in her chest. She was sure Hiccup could feel it too.
"Astrid..." Hiccup begun with a soft voice, his nose and mouth buried in her shoulder. "Yes?"
"...Look, I care about you. Even if it fest look like it a few times, I do. I care very much about you and you're well being and how you feel. I just hope that you'll understand and accept-" This time, she broke him off.
She pulled away and placed her left hand directly on his cheek while placing her right hand on his chin. Turning his head slightly and softly, - making sure not to hurt him - she stood up on her toes and pressed her lips firmly against his cheek.
"Shut up, Hiccup," Astrid murmured against his skin before pulling away and smiling. "I like you. Very much. To much for my own well being. So, don't go and do something wreck less that may cost your life because I will kill you."
Hiccup smiled and wrapped his arms around her back tightly and pulled her against him.
Astrid smiled and placed her hands on his chest. "You're amazing," They said in unison. Laughing, they heading into his hut to somehow spend the night.
They got really flustered but somehow managed to find a good position to sleep in. Toothless just chuckled and covered his face with his tail.
