The Looks
(A/N: I don't remember anything about what this was about to just go with me. I love the picture. It was about Heather, right?)
Recently, more like, a minute ago, Tuffnut and Snotlout had become, "official best friends."
Of course, Hiccup and Astrid was ignoring them. As usual. They where having their own little, "moment" on the other side of the stables, talking.
"Astrid, Heather will be fine, she got Windsheer with her," Hiccup said, turning towards the girl he'd once almost lost.
Astrid braced herself, grabbing her arm with her right hand. "I know. I'm just...worried that she might get hurt or killed..." She said, looking down.
Hiccup leaned down his head a little, smiling softly. "Don't worry about her. It's Heather we're talking about..." He said, wanting to place his hand on her shoulder but hesitated when he saw her look down to the floor.
"Look, she'll be alright. She's a fighter, just like you..." He said. Astrid looked up at him for a second before looking towards Snotlout and Tuffnut.
"It'll be alright, Astrid," Hiccup reassured, taking a small step towards her.
Astrid turned to look at him. "You're right. I should maybe stop worrying and just relax..." She said, leaning towards him a little.
Hiccup smiled, his eyes drifting from hers to her pink lips.
They heard Toothless groin. A second later, the dragons snout was pressed against Hiccup's back and he was pushed forwards.
He stood up straight, making him several inches taller than the blonde in front of him.
"Toothless..." Hiccup said through gritted teeth. There was a dragon like laugh heard before he turned back towards Astrid.
"Sorry about that, he's a little eager-" She interrupted him by placing her hand on his cheek and stroking his lower lip with her thumb.
"You know...I never got to thank you for saving me the time I almost drowned. If you hadn't dived in after me, I would have been laying on the bottom of the ocean right now..." Astrid said softly.
Hiccup shuddered slightly, making Astrid smile. "Thank you, Hiccup. For saving me..." She said, pulling back her hand and wrapping her arms around his neck, hugging him.
"Oh, it was nothing, really," Hiccup said, slowly wrapping his arms around her back.
One his hands "slipped" on her shirt and landed on her waist. "If it was nothing...then why did it take so long then?" Astrid only meant that as a joke but when she got an answer, she haltered herself.
"I'm sorry. I was searching for you from our beaches to the outer parts of our sea line. When Snotlout told me which way you liked to fly, I use it as an coordination to find you. I'm sorry that I couldn't come sooner. I'm sorry..." Hiccup whispered, burring his nose into her neck.
She pulled back, holding him by his arms. "It's fine, Hiccup. You got there in time, alright. Don't worry about it anymore. It's fine now. Everything's fine now..." She said, ignoring it when Snotlout and Tuffnut rushed past them with a wheel cart.
Hiccup smiled, holding her by her waist. Astrid move her hands over his shoulder pads, up his neck and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Hiccup pulled her closer.
"What would I do without you?" She asked.
"I don't know. But I know one thing that I'll promise you..." Hiccup said, pulling back his head.
"And what would that be?" Astrid asked, looking up to meet his eyes.
"That I'll protect you. No matter what. From Dagger, from Ryker and from Viggo. No matter what it will cost me..."
Astrid raised her brows. "No, Hiccup...I can defend myself. I'm a warrior, as your father says. And we live by a code..." She said, grabbing his hair softly.
Hiccup pulled away from her fully, slowly beginning to walk towards his hut. Astrid followed him.
"So...what did you two talk about?" He asked, looking at her. Astrid shrugged.
"Not much. I had this weird feeling inside of me that I could've been there to prevent the attack. Stoick talked me though it and have me a few tips. You try to live with it, and make everything you can to not feel it again..."
Hiccup looked at her, hesitating but slowly grabbing her hand and holding it lightly in his.
Astrid looked down at the ground in front of her.
"You know, we're here if you need help, Astrid. We are a team after all. And teams stick together..." Hiccup said, trying to comfort her a little.
"I know. I'm just...I don't want people to laugh at my feelings. You know what I mean?" She asked, looking up at him in the eyes.
"Of course I get what you mean. And, we won't laugh at you. You're the one we rely on the most around here," Hiccup said, opening the door to his hut. Astrid stepped inside, followed by the man who where still holding her hand.
"I though that you where the leader around here."
"Everybody needs a second-in-command..."
Astrid smiled, carefully sitting down by the edge of the fire pit, warming herself.
Hiccup grabbed a blanket from his chest at the side of the room, draping it over Astrid's back and shoulders before sitting down beside her.
They sat in silence for minutes, only staring into the fire pit. Hiccup suddenly turned his head towards her. Astrid seemed to notice but didn't look at him.
He brushed away her bangs and laid them behind Astrid's right ear, looking at her with such affection that she had only got from her mother and father.
"What?" She snapped at him, smiling afterwards. Hiccup smiled, shaking his head slowly.
"No, nothing. I was just admiring how beautiful you are," He whispered, barely audible over the cracking noises from the burning wood.
Astrid's eyes widened and she stared at her. "Did you just say what I think you said?" She asked.
Hiccup looked into the fire. "Yeah. You heard right. I said that you where beautiful. Punch me if you don't like it..." He said with no emotions.
However, the expected punch never came. The only thing that happened after that was Astrid draping the leftover blanket over his back and shoulders.
Hiccup looked at her, scratching the end of his eyebrow.
"You...you're not mad?"
Astrid leaned back, looking at him. "Why would I be mad? Do you know how long I have waited for you to say something like that?" She asked.
Astrid smiled, leaning in slowly but stopping. Hiccup leaned in too, smiling.
"Well, you gunna kiss me or stare at me all evening?" Astrid asked with a chuckle.
"Oh, you little-" Hiccup said and laughed before grabbing her by the waist and pulling her into his lap.
Astrid wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling. Hiccup smiled deviously before moving his hand and placing it on the back of her head.
He leaned in, slowly, which was almost killing her. When their lips met, they almost became clingy, wanting for more.
Astrid pulled away for a second, her lips still pressed against Hiccup's. "Thank you for being in my life, Hiccup."
She then kissed him but he pulled away a second later. "No...I should thank you, Astrid..."
Their lips met, tongues fighting for dominance as if it was the last time that they saw each other.
(A/N: So, I was actually surprised but almost expected it in Team Astrid. She's got parents! Oh, this will be a great chapter for my other Hiccstrid One-Shot book.
I feel sorry for Astrid. First, she almost looses her parents but looses her home where she grew up in. She almost drowns, gets killed and ect.
The new season of Race to the Edge left me crying at the end of Maces and Talons, part two. Comment if you feel me.
Ignore me if you haven't seen Race to the Edge.
