Scourge of Odin
(A/N: OMG. This season was amazing. Spoilers ahead!)
Astrid's been though so much lately. She got the deadly decease, - the Scourge of Odin that would've killed her within three moons. Hiccup had been so worried about Astrid lately. She had almost gotten killed and she got shot in the thigh by a Dragon Root arrow.
Every night after her sickness, Hiccup laid down in his bed, hoping that Astrid would be alright the next day. However, tonight, he helped her home.
It was the day she had defended Stormfly from getting shot. Heather had helped her slowly limp towards the arena.
However, that was hours ago and she had been sitting in the clubhouse ever since. "Hey," He said as he walked into the building, sitting down next to Astrid. "Hey," She responded back and looked down at her hands, flustered slightly.
Hiccup looked at her sincerely. "How's your leg?" He asked and scooted closer to her. "It's...fine, I guess. The only problem is that I can't get home now."
He smiled and stood up, grabbing her hand and bending down slightly, wrapping her arm around his neck. "Hiccup, what are you-?" He interrupted her. "Sshh, I'll take you home," He said calmly and slipped his hand under her knees and back softly.
Astrid smiled. "Thank you," She said and wrapped her other arm around his neck, her fingers disappearing under her hair as she messed with the auburn locks.
Hiccup liked to hold her like this. He knew that she was a tough girl but he also knew that she could talk to him about anything. They had a strong bond. Stronger than with anybody in the group.
However, holding her like this, also made him remember when she had fallen sick for the Scourge of Odin.
She had explained that she was out flying when she saw a fishing boat just drifting with the sea. She had landed to investigate if there were any people on board and when she had found the people, the only survivor had grabbed her arm and accidentally scratched her. The decease spread though her body and she was almost on the brim of death when they gave her the antidote; the saliva of the Buffalord mixed with the plant it was eating.
She had barely escaped death.
He was at least grateful that the antidote had worked and that she was alive and well.
Before they both knew it, they had reached Astrid's house and he pushed open the door, walking inside. Hiccup walked up the stairs and sat her down on the bed, sprinting down to close the door.
When he returned up, she was softly clutching a spot on her thigh, breathing deeply in and out. "What's the matter?" He asked and crouched down in front of her, placing a hand on her knee. "The arrow...well, the wound. It hurts," Astrid said and placed her hand on Hiccup's.
"Can...can I have a look at it?" He asked, gazing into her eyes as he took her hand and stroke it with his thumb. Flustered, she nodded and he helped her stand up.
Hiccup turned around to give her some privacy. He probably had to clean and take care of her wound too. "Hey, where do you keep the medical supplies?" He asked.
"Down the stairs and right."
He walked down the stairs and turned right, seeing a box. He opened it and found some bandages and wipes. Smiling softly, he pulled out what he needed and went upstairs.
He gulped when he saw her. Shoes removed, socks on, no leggings and no skirt. She was slightly flushed and her hands were laying in her lap. When he walked up to her, he noticed the wound on the side of her thigh. There was a huge blue mark around it. No wonder it hurt so much.
"Oh my god, Astrid. What did you do to yourself?" Hiccup asked, placing a hand on her thigh. "Fought in battle. You know, it's only fun if you-"
"Get a scar out of it, I know, I just...you shouldn't be hurting yourself like this," Hiccup said, his eyes slightly watery. Astrid noticed and turned towards him. "Hiccup, why are you crying, talk to me," Astrid begged, hands placed on his cheeks.
"I just, I came this close-" He gestured with his finger, "to loosing you just a few days ago. I don't want to shoot a flaming arrow to a boat, knowing that you're the one laying in it. You're important to me, Astrid. I don't know what I would do if you would've died that day you got sick. I..." He trailed off, tears streaming down his face.
Astrid exhaled and wrapped her arms around his neck. Her right hand placed on his head. He leaned against the blondes chest and sobbed, his arms slowly snaking around her waist. "Sshh, Hiccup, I'm here. Don't cry. I won't go anywhere," Astrid tried to comfort him as she was pressing small kisses to the top of his head. "Whether you want it or not, you'll never get rid of me easily."
Hiccup laughed slightly and pulled away. He looked down at the wound on her leg and slipped down the bed, sitting down on the floor beside her.
Leaning down, he pressed his lips to her thigh slightly, stroking her shin. Her breath caught in her throat and she closed her eyes, pleasure shooting though her body and staying at her core. "H-Hiccup," She stuttered out and placed a hand on his shoulder.
The young man pulled away, smiling before sitting up right. He took a piece of cloth and wetted it with water and some herbs-liquid.
Astrid bit her lip when the wet cloth came in contact with her skin and she felt the stinging sensation shoot though her leg.
"I'm almost done," Hiccup said and pressed the cloth directly to the wound, holding it in place and wrapping the bandaged around it.
The hand that was on his shoulder was gripping incredibly hard at the shoulder pad and he took her hand, stroking it with his thumb. Gazing into her eyes, he brought her hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it.
Astrid placed her other hand on his cheek and he slowly stood up, stopping when he was in eye-level with her. "M'Lady," He whispered and leaned in, his lips brushing hers.
The blonde's hands disappeared into Hiccup's hair and she smiled. Just when he was about to pull away, she kissed him back and moved her left hand to the strap on his chest, grabbing it and pulling him towards her.
He almost toppled over and hit her but she held him up as she slowly laid down onto the bed.
A while after, they eventually pulled away with a smile. Hiccup was leaning over her, his forearms holding him up while his hands fiddled with a loose strand of hair.
He looked her in the eyes and said, "You know, you are so goddamn beautiful, I think even Freya might be jealous of you." Astrid laughed. "Joke all you want, Hiccup, you won't fool me."
His smile turned into a serious face in a matter of seconds. Astrid stopped laughing.
"Hiccup...?"
"I'm serious, Astrid. You are beautiful. Just don't think that it's the only reason why I've fallen head-over-heels for you. You're smart, beautiful, kind-hearted to those you love, amazing, brave-"
"Just shut up already and kiss me you dork," She said and pulled him against her. A few moments later, she felt his armor cut into her in places she'd rather just forget were on fire.
Pulling away and slightly pushing him off, she fiddled with the straps of his armor. Failing, he chuckled and stood up, undoing the straps and buttons before pulling it off.
He heard a, "Much better," Coming from the girl laying on the bed. Astrid turned so she was laying in direction with the bed, and not across it.
A picture flashed in front of his eyes.
A sick and dizzy Astrid laying on the bed, complaining on him for pacing to much and worrying.
He shook the picture away from his mind and sat down on the edge of the bed. "Can I...ask you to do me a favor, Astrid?" He asked hesitantly. The blonde sat up and leaned against the headboard of the bed. "Well, yeah, sure? What is it?"
"Whenever something happens to you, please tell me right away, okay?"
Astrid looked at him before bowing her head. "...okay," She said. Her eyes drifted off to the bandage around her thigh and she grazed the edge with her fingers.
"Thank you. For taking care of me," She said, barely audible. "It was nothing," He said back in the same tone. Leaning in, he lifted her chin with his hand and pressed his forehead against hers.
"Astrid..."
"Hiccup..."
"I...I love you," They said in unison. Pulling away, they looked at each other before a huge smile played up on their lips and they leaned in, kissing.

"Well, well, how have you two slept?" Tuffnut asked when the couple came into the arena, Astrid still limping slightly. The herbs seemed to work. At least for now.
"Great, thank you for asking, Tuff," Astrid said and winked, shooting him the double guns. He furrowed his brows and leaned back slightly. "Uh..."
Hiccup begun to laugh, looking at Astrid. "Nice on, M'Lady," He said and pulled out a chair for her, letting her sit down while he got some food for them.
"Okay, what's happening?" Ruffnut asked and looked at Astrid. She raised her hands and said, "Nothing," Innocently. The blonde twin just rolled her eyes and muttered something.
"How's your leg feeling, Astrid?" Fishlegs asked, standing at a corner, fixing Meatlug's saddle.
"It's feeling okay, I think. Hiccup mixed some herb-liquid and water and fixed it so I'll guess a few days and the pain will at least be gone."
"That's good to hear."
"Good to hear what?" Hiccup asked as he walked into the room, a plate in his hand while holding a few fishes for Toothless in his other.
"Here you go, bud," He said and gave him the fish, patting the dragon on the head.
"Nothing. Fishlegs just wondered how my leg was doing..." She said and smiled at him. The young man smiled back, shrugging and walking over to her. Placing down the plate on the table, he lifted his hands and said, "These hands does wonders," Before sitting down beside her.
"Yeah, no wonder," Astrid whispered. "A litter more kissing and we would've broken a few rules." Hiccup smirked. "Not to mention, you wouldn't have been able to walk for a week after that," He whispered back and grabbed a piece of meat, eating it.
"Like I can walk properly now!" Astrid said, joking and pushing him slightly. "You are such a dork," Hiccup said and laughed.
"Me? Dork? Are you serious? You're the ones who's the dork between us. I'm fabulous."
"Of course you are."
Hiccup grabbed her arm and pulled her against him. Pressing his lips against her cheek, he smiled and realized that everyone had disappeared.
"Looks like they couldn't deal with us, M'Lady," Hiccup said, trailing his hand up her arm and stopping at her cheek. "Tell me about it," Astrid said and placed her hand on his.
Silence.
Silence.
Silence...
Silence!
"I'm bored."
"Me too."
Their eyes met and they smiled, thinking the same thing. "I'm already handicap enough, why not make me even more handicap?" Astrid asked.
Hiccup smirked and stood up, doing a millisecond happy-dance before lifting her up, walking up to his hut, smiling foolishly.
Astrid too, was smiling like a dork, her wish finally coming true.
