They had come back to Berk from Dragon's Edge due to the volcano eruption and they were in the Academy, talking through the things they had to get back. If there would be anything to get back from there. While listening to the others, Astrid's father had found him and he wanted to have a little chat with him.
Lars had led him away from the Academy and they had walked into the Hoffersson's house, Audhild greeting them with a warm smile.
Hiccup hesitated. "What did you want to talk with me about?" He asked, his eyes drifting between Astrid's mother and father.
Audhild smiled and walked up to Hiccup, placing her hands on his shoulders. "We wanted to talk to you about Astrid," She said softly.
Hiccup's eyes widened a little. "Astrid? Why?"
Lars smiled and walked up to his wife, placing a hand on her shoulder, looking down at him.
"Come on, son, sit down," He said and gestured to the table.
Hiccup nodded, a little surprised and scared at what they were going to say. He had Astrid had gotten together some time ago and they were very happy with each other. He would be heartbroken if her parents said that they couldn't be together.
He loved her.
Although they hadn't said that to each other yet, he really wanted to let her know how he felt.
Finally settled down at the table, Audhild smiled at looked at him. "We wanted to thank you for making her happier. We both know you two are together now and we're happy for you. We really are. Astrid is so much happier when she gets home and we've seen that she's changed. She used to be all grumpy and mad at us when she came home. Now, she enters the house with a smile and hugs both of us. That has only happened year back. Thank you," She said with a smile.
Hiccup smiled awkwardly. "I guess you know about me and her now. We both wanted it, although I've been dreaming about this ever since I was small," Hiccup said, opening up like a book to them.
Lars smiled. "However, this isn't the only thing we want to talk to you about. There's a few things we want to discuss," He said.
Hiccup looked at them with scared eyes. "Oh, don't worry, boy, nothing too bad. What we wanted to talk to you about is all about you two."
"Okay? What about it?" He asked slowly, questions flying all around in his head and he shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
"We're really happy for you guys. But, we don't want our daughter to get hurt. We know you're not that kind of guy but we want to make sure anyways. Can you promise us somethings?" Lars asked and looked at Audhild before looking at Hiccup.
"Yes," He said, not hesitating a bit.
"Okay. Good. Can you promise us you won't hurt her? That you will keep her company when she needs it? That you'll be beside her when she needs you or asks you to? Will you protect her?"
Hiccup stood up swiftly, putting his hands on the table. "I promise I'll be by her side to keep her company and I promise I will never hurt her. I could never hurt her. I'll never leave her and I promise, I will protect her no matter what happens," He said, his voice confident.
Lars stood up. "Do you want to have her by your side for as long as you live? Do you want to marry her?" He asked, placing his hands on Hiccup's shoulder, reaching over the table.
"I do. One day."
"You have my blessing, son. Keep her safe. You're free to go."
Audhild stood up and walked around the table, walking up to Hiccup. He turned toward Astrid's parents and smiled. "I promise," He said to Audhild.
The aged woman smiled and patted his shoulder softly. "I know. Now, go. If I know Astrid right, she's probably searching for you."

"Hey there, M'lady," Hiccup said after landing behind her on Toothless. Astrid turned her head towards him and smiled. He leaned down once he stood beside her and pressed a small kiss to her lips.
"Mm," Astrid hummed once he pulled away. Hiccup settled down beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Astrid closed her eyes and laid her head onto his shoulder, wrapping her arm around his waist.
He grabbed her hand with his free one and moved his thumb over the back of her hand, caressing it.
He smiled and buried his nose into her hair, smiling at what her parents have said to him. "Astrid?" He asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Yes?" She responded with the same tune.
Hiccup pulled back and looked at her. Astrid raised her head from his shoulder and looked at him for a second before she turned her head to look forwards, at the lake.
He breathed out a small laugh before taking his time in admiring her. She looked beautiful. The way the sun shone right onto her. She was gorgeous. He wanted to see her with her hair down.
She would be a goddess. Even more then what she already is.
Perfect.
Astrid.
Devine Beauty.
Hiccup's smiled widened slightly and he leaned in, closing his eyes. His lips met her cheek, just above her jawline.
Astrid smiled and looked back at him once he pulled away. "I want to tell you something important..." Hiccup said, his voice slightly fading. "What is it, Hiccup?" She asked, her hand squeezing his.
"At the academy, your father found me and he said he wanted to talk to me about something. I didn't know what it was but, I went with him and he brought you home to your house. Your mother greeted me and they started talking to me," Hiccup paused, wanted to see the reaction on her face.
Astrid's brows furrowed and she looked at him. "About what?" She asked, a little impatient.
"They started talking about me and you and us. Apparently, they know we're together and they were so happy. However, they started asking me if I could promise things about you. I did. I promised then that I would never hurt you and that I would never leave you alone, only when you needed it. I promised them to keep you safe and protect you - even if I and everyone else knows you're perfect capable of taking care of yourself. "I promised them to...I promised them to always be by you because you're the one one I want in my life. I promised them that...I would love you until the day I die," Hiccup finished, his eyes watery as he looked at her.
Tears were streaming down her face.
Astrid sobbed and let him go, moving out of his arm and carefully sitting into his lap, her hands on his cheeks as she looked at him with the most sincere look ever.
"Thank you, Hiccup. It...it means more then anything to be to hear it from you...thank you," The last two word came out as a whisper as she leaned in and placed her lips onto his.
Hiccup smiled softly and kissed back, a tear slipping away from his eyes and down his cheeks.
"Thank you," Astrid whispered into the kiss. Hiccup pulled back and leaned his forehead against hers. "No. I have to thank you."
"For what?"
"For being beside me. For accepting me and for believing in me," He said with a whisper and pressed a small kiss to her cheek.
"Remember something," He started as they leaned in once again. "Anything," Astrid whispered. "I promised I will be by you everyday of my life until I die."
"I know."
Their lips met.
"I promise."
