Perspective
(A/N: What if the kiss in, "A Matter Of Perspective," would've lingered?)
"It's all about perspective. Astrid, when you look at things differently, you see things that you might never have seen before. It's pretty cool to think about, actually," Hiccup said and looked over the edge and the setting sun.
Astrid looked over at him as he spoke, a small smile forming on her lips.
Perspective.
Yeah. She got a new perspective of Hiccup. Before, she called him her best friend. Now, she calls him her boyfriend, - her betrothed.
It felt so weird to say.
Betrothed.
To be wed.
She honestly wouldn't want it any other way, even if they had to wait for years to get married. She just wanted him to stay with her and she knew he would.
He had confessed that he would when he asked her for her approval on the betrothal.
She trusted him and she knew he trusted her.
Hiccup stopped speaking and paused for a second, looking at her.
The time seemed to stand still.
She looked at him closely and noticed a light scruff on his chin. Why hadn't she noticed that earlier? And there was a freckle that stood out of all the other ones. It was darker and it was just at the edge of his eyebrow.
Her eyes met his for a second before she looked down at the dome under them.
She felt his fingers wrap around hers and her thumb being trapped to her palm. It was an awkward hold but she adjusted her finger and gripped his hand, squeezing it.
Hiccup smiled and she looked at him again. "You know what? Ihr had enough thinking to last me an entire week," She said, pausing and pulling him slightly closer to her using the hand she held.
"I'm going to get some sleep," She said before slowly putting her hand on his chest, her fingers grazing the edge of the neck of his armor.
She felt his hand on her forearm, his forearm wrapping around her wrist.
Hiccup leaned towards her and she met him halfway, their lips meeting in a soft kiss. Instead of pulling away, they lingered, pressing slightly more pressure against each other's lips.
Her hand slid from his chest to the side of his neck and her fingers tightened, holding him there.
Pulling back, she leaned into him and pressed a kiss to his chin, just above his jaw, lingering there too. The slight scruff on his chin pricked her lips and she pulled away.
The hand on his neck went around it she pulled him closer to her, pulling her hand away from his and wrapping that arm around his waist.
She hugged him tightly, not wanting to let him go even if she was tired and she needed sleep.
Hiccup looked at her with a questionable face, wondering why she hugged him but didn't hesitate with wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer.
Her head was laying on his collar and he kissed the side of her head, smiling against her ear.
"If you want to, you can stay at my place for the night," He whispered soothingly into her ear and pulled back to look at her.
Astrid lifted her head from his collar and looked at him.
She nodded.
Without a word, the two changed positions, - Hiccup's arm around her waist and hers the same - and they walked into the Haddock hut.
Hiccup insisted on her sleeping on his bed and she finally agreed.
He fell asleep beside Toothless but awoke in the blondes warm embrace the next morning, - with her arms around him and her nose buried into his hair and his head pressed into her chest.
Neither of them complained and they agreed on falling asleep beside each other later.
(A/N: This is cheesy and shitty :') Sorry.)
