(A/N: I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW.)

Noises of dragons where heard from behind them. Toothless and Stormfly where playing together, running after each other and just...having fun after everything they had been through.

Hiccup and Astrid sat on the edge of the landing area, at the stables, looking out over the vast sea and the sunset.

He turned his head to look at her. She was just so beautiful in this light. Not that she wasn't always beautiful but right now, after everything that had happened, he was just so happy for her to be there, well.

"Are you sure you're feeling okay?" He suddenly asked and turned his head towards her, fully taking in her beautiful silhouette. He was so worried about her.

Earlier, there had been a storm on Dragons Edge and there was rain and lightning everywhere. One second, she was in the Club House, talking to him, the other second, he found her laying on the floor at the entrance of the stables, smoke and marks covering her face and her clothes.

She was unconscious when he brought her into the Club House but she soon awoke, confused at why she couldn't see.

She told them that, when she was going to go out of the stables, a lightning bolt hit the ground in front of her and then everything had gone black.

They realized she had gone blind because of that and Hiccup was so scared. He didn't want the girl he loved endlessly to be...blind for the rest of her life.

Astrid was more then scared. She was terrified.

But, he was there.

A lot of things happened after that but, she made it through. Obviously. She's Astrid for Thor's sake.

After things had calmed down, Hiccup flew her to Berk where she visited Gothi and she gave her some saliva, wrapping her eyes with gauze.

She got her sight back and they came back to Berk and there they were now.

"I'm fine, Hiccup. Stop worrying about me now," She said and looked at him, with an half amused, half annoyed face.

He smiled at her.

"I'll...never stop worrying about you. That's just the way it is."

Astrid smiled and looked away for a second. "Yeah, yeah. I guess that goes for me too..." She said before looking up and at the beautiful scenery before them.

Hiccup looked at the sunset for a second before scooting closer to her, making sure to nudge her arm. She pushed his arm away with his and he looked at her. "Hey.."

Astrid laughed for a second.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, sure."

She looked at him, eyes gazing into his. He looked at her with a small smile. "Back in the forest when..we were, you know..."

"Yeah...?"

Hiccup had been talking to her in the forest when they were fighting a Triple Stryke, Astrid had suddenly gotten so terrified of her remaining blind that she had just...lost all hope. Hiccup was there. He held her to him and he said the most amazing thing to her she'd ever heard from him.

"Astrid, you and I have been through, everything together. You don't think we can handle this? Astrid, you have me. No matter what. Whatever that means, whatever you want it to mean, I am with you. There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid. Always."

Even though she had been blind, she had used her other senses and she could feel him lean close to her face, wanting to kiss her but he never got to do it.

"Were you about to...?"

"Oh...uh, you felt that, huh? I thought I could get away with it..."

Astrid smiled and looked down at the ground below them before looking up and asking, "Well, why didn't you?"

"Oh..." Hiccup begun before realizing what she just asked. "Oh, well, I...it wasn't perfect. I always thought that if it ever happened, eh, - and, yes, I've thought about it. A lot, - uh...and it had to be just perfect," He said, honest.

He really thought about kissing her. He always felt like...if he wanted them to get anywhere, he had to make the first move and the last time they kissed...had been on Thawfest a few years prior.

Astrid's smile widened slightly before looking at the sunset once again. She saw as the sun slowly climbed down the sky.

Maybe...this is my only chance, She thought. "Well, this seems pretty perfect to me," She said and turned her head towards Hiccup.

He gazed at her for a second before looking forward. "Yeah," He smiled and his eyes shone brightly. "Yeah...yes, it does," He said before turning his eyes towards her.

Leaning in, he turned his head to the right for a better angle and his mouth opened slightly before his lips met hers.

It was amazing.

The feeling of being home, - even more home then ever - flowed through him and he smiled, pressing his lips against hers with a little more force before pulling away.

He sighed, a little dazed and slowly closed his mouth, gazing into the eyes of the girl he loves endlessly.

Astrid suddenly looked down at the floor and scooted closer to him, wrapping her arm around his waist and laying her head on his collarbone.

Hiccup smiled widely and wrapped his arm around her waist as well, pulling her closer.

They sat there for quite a while. Even after the sun had gone down and it was dark and only the moon shone on them from behind, they still sat there.

Hiccup suddenly sighed. Astrid pulled back and looked at him. "Is something wrong?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Nothing is wrong, trust me," He said and took her hand into his, stroking his thumb over the back of her hand to reassure her.

"Then...what is it?"

He smiled. "It's been so long..."

She looked at him with a confused face.

He laughed. "It's been so long since we kissed. Last time was on Thawfest and you kissed me because I let Snotlout win and I just missed it and-"

She cut him off by placing her free hand on his shoulder, her fingers touching his neck and pressing her lips against his. He was surprised at first, - usual Hiccup behavior - before he settled into the kiss and squeezed her hand with his.

Astrid pulled away and smiled, her thumb slowly moving along his yaw. "You ramble too much," She said before standing up and pulling him up with her. "Yeah..."

He took her hands into his and just...held her hands, gazing into her eyes.

"So...what does this make us now?"

"I think it's pretty obvious..."

Hiccup smiled and pressed his lips against her forehead, letting go of her hands and wrapping his arms around her back and waist.

"Thank you, Astrid."

"For what?" She asked, her voice a little muffled since she had buried her face into his shoulder.

"For being there for me. And for not giving up, for helping me and for being my best friend throughout all of these years. Not to mention you being my girlfriend right now..." He whispered, burying his face into her neck.

She smiled.

"Thank you."

Pulling away, they looked at the moon and realized it was about midnight. "We should really get to bed now..." Hiccup said softly and looked back at her. "I don't want to..."

"We have to. We don't know what tomorrow has to offer for us tomorrow. It's better if we get to bed now.."

He was right. They didn't know what each they had to offer so it was best to have a good nights rest. Who knew when they had to stay up days in a row next time...

"Okay..."

He smiled and took her hand, slowly beginning to walk towards Hiccup's hut. That's the way Astrid used to get home if she didn't have Stormfly with her.

Take the bridge between her house and Hiccup's and get home that way.

The walk seemed to take an eternity but, for once, they didn't mind it.

Hiccup stopped outside of his hut and Astrid stopped in front of him. They smiled at each other before Hiccup leaned down, closing his eyes, slightly opening his mouth and pressing his lips against hers.

It felt so natural but at the same time, it was so new. Astrid smiled into the kiss and just as he was about to pull away, she placed her hand on his waist and he stayed, smiling slightly too.

Finally, they pulled away and they smiled at each other. "Sleep tight, M'lady," He said softly and let her go. "Yeah, sleep tight, Hiccup..." She whispered, licking her lips and turning around, slowly starting to walk to her hut.

He watched her go until she reached her door. She turned to look at him and smiled, waving slightly.

Hiccup smiled and watched her walk inside before he himself went inside, greeted by Toothless.

She found herself in his bed when they woke up.
