Significant event from my youth.

So I'm bucking the trend of positive events and here's this, instead.

When I was very young, my family lived in California, and there were wildfires. I don't think they actually got to where we lived, but I'm pretty sure we still evacuated to a friend's house, just in case.
Now, I don't remember this at all.
I have one memory from this time, but I thought it was about something else. Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure this is why I'm afraid of fire.

I feel like when I say nevertheless it sounds pretendious, but it was just the word that best fit the sentence. So yeah.
