Act 30; Please go on a date with me!

Ren's P.O.V:

"So what are we betting?" Tsukishima-kun questioned before giving a smirk.

What a weirdo.

I placed my hand on my chin, investigating the chess board.

I'm playing black again? That means he gets the first move.

I gave a slight grin, I don't mind. I have confidence in this game.

"Oi, are you going to answer me or not?"

"E-eh, what did you say, Tsukishima-kun? I didn't really get that." His right eyebrow twitched upwards, "what are you, deaf?" I crossed my arms and huffed, "no, I can hear you clearly, Bakashima."

"What was that?" I snickered, "maybe you're the one who's deaf." The beanpole clicked his tongue, looking back down at the board. "Whatever, shorty. Let's just play." I smiled, gazing up to Yamaguchi-san, "alright."

The blonde sighed, "what are you betting?" I thought about it, long and hard, before snapping my fingers in effect. "I know! Well, if I win..." I eyed back over to the first year standing up, "you have to be nice to Yamaguchi-san for the rest of the year!" The brunette flinched back, "eh?! What..?"

"You heard me, Yamaguchi-san. If I win this chess match, Jerkishima-kun here has to be kind to you. A-and pay more attention to you as well!" Tsukishima-kun popped a vein, "who do you think you are you calling a jerk? And why do you seem so confident?"

"Hehe, I have my ways, Tsukki~"

"Don't call me that." I rubbed my neck, "yeah, sorry." I really wasn't that confident. Sure, I have won a few matches here and there in America, but Tsukishima-kun has stated he has as well... "Y-yoshida-san? You really don't need to waste such a thing on me. See? I'm fine-"

"Yamaguchi-san?"

"Y-yes?" I gave a big grin, "don't worry, I'm doing this because I want to." He nodded, and I could swear I could see his cheeks turn red, but I guess he was just embarrassed. "I accept. I will do it." Tsukishima-kun bluntly said like always, "now it's your turn to give me a bet."

"Alright, Yoshida..." Again with the Yoshida?!! It's making me nervous! "If I win this game, you will have to ask one of the third years on the volleyball team on a date." It took me a while to get that through my head, before the blood rushed to my face. "Eh, b-but, What if they all say no?!"

Tsukishima-kun gave a devilish snicker, "then you'll be my servant, plus you'd have to ask one of the first years."

Why's he skipping the second years??!! That's not the point here, Ren! Why a servant!?

"A-and if the first years say no..?" He gave a grin, "oh, trust me. They won't." I puffed out my cheeks, and breathed. What does that mean? "A-alright. I accept... So all I need to do is win, right?"

"Yeah, we'll see about that." Tsukishima-kun started off by moving his pawn first, which seems pretty normal in my opinion. "Pawn to E4."

Oh cool. He does the talking thing.

I touched my fingers onto the same pawn, "pawn to E3." Yamaguchi-san watched in astonishment, "I haven't seen anyone start a move like that; it's very rare." I smiled, as Tsukishima moved his bishop out.

Typical.

I returned it with my queen, taking one of his pawns in the process.

I'm making progress! Take that; guess who doesn't have to go on a date? This girl!

It didn't take long for him to corner her though, to my misfortune. "What are you going to do? I thought you were good at this game."

H-how?! He has a knight, his queen and a few pawns. Does he dare say I'm losing?! Whoa- Akashi has gotten to me.

I counter attacked with my rook, but he ended up turning the tables on me, and taking it, "Check." Damn, he is good, I smiled, making him look at me oddly. "What's so funny?"

"Ah, nothing, Tsukishima-kun," I sighed, "I haven't just heard that word in a while." I grabbed my bishop and threw him in front of my king, "how about that?" He smirked, taking his horse and killing the bishop violently. "Check."

Check, check, check.

I huffed, is that all he can say..? But still... He's better than I thought.

I moved my king to the left side, and he brought down a pawn. I did the same until he reached closer, I got rid of it.

That was a big mistake.

Tsukishima-kun put down his queen next to my king, and I had no choice but to move him up. "Bye queen." I muttered under my breath, as he mercilessly took it away.
A king, a pawn and a queen; I still had a horse, a king, a rook, and two pawns. Even though I obviously had more than him- I can't help but feel like he has the upper hand here.

Come on, Ren! You'll have to risk your first date on this!!

I mentally screamed at myself, and shifted the pawn towards the end of the board. In a swift movement, he ignored it, and placed his queen in front of my king. "Check." I removed him from danger and he repeated his words with his next move.

He's totally not letting me get my queen back!

After a while of the same things happening, I finally realized he was cornering me towards his king. I had nowhere to move. I was stuck. "Stalemate, that's a stalemate!" He eyed over to me, standing up, "I know."

"Whoa, Yoshida-san; that's the first time anyone has gotten him down to three pieces!"

"Eh, seriously..? He wasn't even that good." I teased, but it seemed like it had no effect. "Why did you put us into stalemate- you were well aware of what that was?" I changed the subject, curious into what his answer would be. He shrugged, making me cross my arms.

"I would have been defeated- it would be cowardly if I don't accept it." Tsukishima-kun scoffed, "it would. But typical Yoshida here doesn't have the guts to ask anyone on a date. I simply pitied you." I furrowed my eyebrows, quite offended by the comment. It was totally irrelevant! Well... sort of.

As much as I hated to admit it, I couldn't ask anyone out. I was too inexperienced. "I lost, okay?! I'm going to ask a third year out; you just watch. And I have total confidence. If I don't- I'll be your servant for a week, Tsukishima-kun."

Wait... What..?Did I just..?

I widened my eyes as the bean pole chuckled teasingly. "You better keep that promise, Yoshida." He then walked out by himself. "E-eh," I pouted, as my face burned hot. Why. Why, why, why, why.

I placed my hands on my face, burying myself in what I had just said. Just then, someone patted me on the back gently. "It's okay, Yoshida-san..." Yamaguchi-san was lost for words, so he stepped out of the room as well. "Damn you, Tsukishima-kun!" I yelled to myself; thank god no one was around.

We still had 15 minutes till class started.

Damn you for making me feel this way...

I sat down in my desk, and plastered my math notebook on my desk. I don't deserve to do anything worthy at this moment of my life.

What the hell were you thinking, Ren?! I-I mean, sure he is trash but that doesn't mean you have to stoop down to his level!

Whatever... I guess I'll ask the third years-

My face flushed a bright red. Are you an idiot! They don't like you that way! Why would they go on something as absurd as a date!!? I face planted into my desk.

--

The bell rang, and it was a day after I made that stupid bet with Idiotshima.

Idiotshima. Really Ren?

Anyways, I stood up from my desk rather quickly. "Where are you going on such a fine day?" Tsukishima-kun asked, knowing exactly what I was up to. "Very funny, Tsukishima-kun."

"I wasn't trying to be."

"W-well whatever, I-I'll show you!" The blonde smirked, "yeah, how tragic it would be if you became my slave for the week." He emphasized on my.

Seriously, what a creep.

I turned away, ignoring him and exiting the door. How bad, I have to spend my lunch doing this... I walked down the third years' hallway; getting some odd comments come my way.

I don't want to be here.

The first of the three I see, I'll ask them. Just to my luck, I spotted Asahi-san down the hallway. "Asahi-san!" I called out, running to him. He turned around, and I halted myself in front.

"Ah, Yoshida. What brings you here?"

"A-actually... I have a favour to ask." He awkwardly rubbed his neck, "I'm not the greatest at answering but I'll try. Ask away." I rubbed my foot against the other, "u-um... Well... I w-was kind of wondering i-if you'd l-l-like to go on..." Asahi-san raised an eyebrow, "go on..?" I then swiftly bowed down, "please go on a date with me!"

The entire hallway went quiet, making me bite my lip out of nervousness. What's he going to say? After a little while of the silence, I raised my head, only to see that the third year wasn't there. Instead, he was running off into the distance.

Asahi-san, you coward!

I then sighed in defeat, walking down the other way. I still have two other tries, keep it together, Ren!

Daichi-san's classroom would be this way, correct? I mustered up some courage and strolled down... confidently? I'm not sure what I am right now to be honest. Daichi-san is my favorite third year, after all...

Just then, I saw Yui-san walk by with cup noodles in her hands. "U-um- Yui-senpai!" I called out, making her spit out her soup. "What, senpai?!" She questioned, as I waved to her from the other side.

"Oh, Yoshida, What can I do for you?" I played with my thumbs, "well, can you get Daichi-san for me? I, uh, kind of need to ask him something..." Yui-senpai then smacked my back really hard, "of course! Just wait a second." The female then opened her class door and stood there, "Sawamura- there's someone here for you!!"

That's a little extreme, senpai...

Daichi-san got up though, and it made my stomach feel sick. I blame this all on that damn bet, even if I had started it...

He walked towards us, "what do you need- oh hey, Yoshida."

"H-hey, Daichi-san."

"Is there something you need? Come on, don't be afraid to ask."

Dam nit! How am I supposed to ask?!

I bowed down, a red tint plastered onto my face, "please go out on a date with me, Daichi-san!" Everything went silent, before Yui-senpai spoke up, everyone was in chaos. "Eh?!" Her face became red, and I was still in bowing formation.

Daichi-san had no time to react, before his cheeks felt hot. "W-well, Yoshida... Y-you see, I-I'm really busy..."

He is so bad at lying...

But now that he said no, I ultimately lost the bet. What am I going to do? My dignity has been lost once again.

"Sawamura, you made her cry!!" Indeed, my face was wet with tears, and Daichi-san was too busy being punched by Yui-senpai. "I-it's okay, senpai," I stood up straight and wiped my tears. But to my fortune, Sugawara-san had walked through the crowd. "Oi, what's with all the commotion?"

I sniffed, making him look at me.

Suga-san! I forgot about him.

"What happened around here?"

"Sawamura rejected the first year!" Some random guy passing by stated. The silver haired setter sighed, "my, Daichi. You're not that bright, are you?" Daichi-san could feel an arrow of hurt hit him in the chest. "B-but what did I do?"

I chuckled at how he was so calm and childish when Sugawara-san was around. "Obviously she was dared, and has to face some sort of consequence."

A/N) cliffhanger woo. Also- I'm so close to 1k votes ommgggg I don't know what to say.
