I'm all dressed and ready for the dinner, I'm in black flats and a cute navy blue summer dress and my hair is in a pretty up-do that my mom helped me with. After I processed the fact that Jayden was a werewolf, I had to get ready for this dinner. But if he is a werewolf, why hasn't he acknowledged me as his mate? Was I just imagining these things? Next time I see him I'm going to talk to him about this, because according to mom it is super important.

Well I better get going, Lexi is expecting me at her house by now. I say good bye to my mom and Will then leave to go to Lexi's house. Once I arrive at her address my jaw drops. A huge party is going on, there isn't even a place for me to park my car! This is crazy, I though she would only have a couple people over. I park down the street then walk into the house.

The music is so loud that it is shaking the floors. There are couples everywhere making out. Oh my god, get a room would you? I slink through the dancing crowd trying to find Lexi. Suddenly I crash into something hard and I almost fall over but a pair of hands steadies me. That's when I feel it, the tingles mom was talking about. Knowing who it was I looked up into his eyes and say "Sorry about that Jayden."

I feel him shudder after I speak his name but he quickly composes himself and drops his hands from my arms and he says "yeah, it's no problem." He turns to walk away.

Out of pure instinct I react out and grab his huge arm making him freeze in place, "Wait Jayden can I talk to you about something later?" I ask in a shy tone.

"I guess so." He says in a strained voice then walks off, making my hand fall back to my side in disappointment.

I'm in complete shock. So he definitely is my mate, but why won't he acknowledge me? I'm starting to get extremely confused. Maybe it is because he thinks I'm human? No my mom still mated with my dad even though he is human so what's Jayden's problem?

"Sofia there you are, I wasn't sure if you would come in or not because of the raging party. I'm really sorry about this, my brother decided last minute to throw a huge party without telling me. We can totally go out to dinner if you don't want to stay here." Lexi screams to me over the music. Finally someone sane I can talk to.

"No it's fine here, I've never really been to a high school party anyway, so I might as well have my first on my birthday!" She grins widely and grabs my hand and pulls me to the dance floor.

"Sofia your going to love it! Just relax and enjoy yourself, forget about all your worries!" We start to dance, and surprisingly I actually catch on pretty quickly. Taking a quick break we go to the kitchen to grab some drinks. Lexi and I end up having about four wine coolers a piece and then we are off to the dance floor again.

Woooo! I never knew dancing with a friend could be so much fun. I let loose and allow the music to take over my body, and after that it all comes naturally to me. Lexi and I have been dancing for about an hour and a half now and it just keeps getting better. The strobe lights are on and the DJ is playing the best dancing music ever! I feel like I'm in a professional club right now.

Suddenly a pair of hands connect with my hips and someone appears from behind me. I turn my head to see who it is, but I have never seen the kid in my life. I take his hands off my hips and continue to dance, a few seconds later he is back! What's this guys problem? I rip his hands off my hips. This is getting annoying. I motion toward the kitchen to let Lexi know I'm leaving then I make my way off the dance floor. I don't want to deal with guys like that. Especially since I just found my mate.

Instead of stopping in the kitchen where it's crowded with people, I walk outside. Still I see crowds of people out here. There are a ton of people in the pool, most in their underwear but some dare devils went in naked. Well honestly, good for them that they are confident enough with their bodies to flaunt around nude. I myself could never do that. I walk over and sit on a pool chair just watching the party go on. A breeze wraps around me, chilling my perspired body.

"Hey shorty, what are you doing sitting out here by yourself?" Vince asks, coming from the drink table, well I'm assuming that since he is holding two beers.

"Just getting some fresh air is all, and excuse me but I am not short." I huff taking the cup of beer he is handing me.

"Soph, you are like a whole foot shorter that me." He says looking down at me, so I stand from the chair to prove I am taller than he thinks.

"I stand at a proud 5 ft 2 inches thank you very much. Now how tall are you?" I say while putting my free hand on my hip.

He laughs, "I'm 6 ft 1 inch, that's basically a whole foot you do realize that right?" I frown and stick my tongue at him.

"Well it's less than a foot so I win." I smile victoriously, then two random girls come from nowhere and surround Vince from either side of him.

"Hey Vince will you come play in the pool with us." One of the girls pouts.

"Pleaseeee Vincey." The other girl says, Vince then turns to look at me, as if asking if I will be okay on my own.

"Go ahead Vince, I was just planning on going inside to dance with Lexi again anyway. I'll catch you later." I start to walk away.

"See yah around shorty!" Vince shouts as I pass them.

Entering the house I walk into the kitchen I see a whole bunch of kids doing shots and chugging beer from a keg. Honestly I wouldn't want to get shit faced, but they look like their having a good time. Thinking about it, there is a first time for everything so I might as well get drunk right now, maybe it will make talking to Jayden easier later on. I'm about to go join them when a stabbing pain fills my lower stomach, just like the time in the classroom. I place my beer cup onto the counter and then I crouch down in agony. I manage to compose myself enough to walk, so I stumble up the stairs with the intention to find a place to lie down and let the pain dwindle away. I approach the first door at the top of the stairs and open it.

Ny eyes widen. Oh my god.

I can't believe my eyes. Jayden and Ashely are in the bed doing the dirty. My heart breaks in realization that my mate is with someone else.

Noticing my presence both Jayden and Ashley look up at me in total shock. I slam the door shut quickly and rush out of the house. I have one destination now. My car. As I jog my way there, I ignore all the pain that is flowing through me.

My mind quickly floats back to Jayden. Of course he doesn't want me. I'm freaking plain, not stick thin, and not pretty at all. What soon-to-be Alpha would ever want a mate like me? I'm not even strong, plus I'm no werewolf.

Tears start streaming down my face as I manage to drive all the way home. I drive through the gates of the mansion and park my car in its normal spot. Deciding not to go inside just yet so that way I don't need to face Mom and Will, I run out into the woods. The further I go the more pain I receive. Eventually the pain becomes too much to bare and I collapse onto the ground crying and withering. That's when I hear the cracking and my body begins to hurt all over. It feels as if someone is completely ripping me apart. My skin becomes too hot to bear and the pain becomes too much, so I black out.
