Virgil's pov

I didn't know there were others like me, I was told I was the only one, then I met them.

— flash back —

I knew I should of taken the bus, maybe I wouldn't be in this situation.

By this situation, I mean being bounded by rope at a bank that's being robbed. It's just me 2 employees and a skinny pale man that was 'robbing this place' by that I mean he was just shooting the roof and yelling.

I would shift right now but there is cctv cameras and a lot of witnesses.

I could probably-

Then it happened.

The window smashed in and what looked like a giant lizard, like huge. It was a very dark blue, it was spinning so I couldn't decipher what it was, it slammed into the robber it made a loud crunch . Then a light blue lion jumped after it, a full grown lion with a grey mane. Slowly emerging after them was a figure. A male in a prince costume he has curly ginger and a centaur body... what?

The first one hit the wall, as soon as the lizard thing hit the wall it flashed white and turned into a young adult male, he wore broken black glasses and has dusty brown hair. His eyes were slits like snake eyes. He was dressed in a black shirt, blue tie and cream pants.

The other was laughing a little, he transformed. This one was also male. He had frizzy blonde hair that was dipped dyed light blue. He had a blue shirt, black round glasses, a grey cardigan around his shoulders and pink trousers.

What?

Wait-

They're also shifters?!

"Hey roman, small problem. " the dusty hair one said as he stood up. "Could you maybe, just maybe NO THROW ME INTO A GLASS WINDOW MID SHIFT?!" He yelled, looking at his broken glasses. He muttered something under his breath as he got off the robber, who was now bleeding and probably dead.

"Okay Logan what ever. Give me the memory juice thingy on them and check these lot!" Roman said back.

Logan threw him what looked like a crystal, roman went to the witnesses and lightly tapped them on the head, they immediately fell to the floor unconscious.

Logan approached me. He looked me up and down.

What the fuck do I do?

"Your shifters!" I mildly yell. Roman stiffens. The other one claps.

"Are you a shifter?!" He yelled. Logan shrugged.

"We'll see Patton." Logan sat in front of me. His legs were weird. It's like half way through the calve he had another joint going backwards,

He's a reptile shifter by the looks of his eyes and legs.

He reached down his collar and pulled out a necklace. It was just a boring blue pebble but before I knew what happened, I heard a rip from my Hoodie and my wings flew out.

Logan looked sad as he gazed at my wings, then shook his head a smiled . " a flight shifter, how interesting." He grabbed a pocket knife and untied me. I blush slightly at the complement.

What stone was that? Why did it do that?

" Virgil, do you live with anyone?" Logan asked.

"H-how do you know my name?!" I panicked, did he read my mind? Or was he stalking me? Do I run? He's a reptile so it'll be hard to beat him, maybe if I run-

"You have a name badge." He said plainly.

Ah..

I didn't take it off after my shift.

"I... Oh.. and no I don't live with anyone." I see Patton smirk.

Roman looked at me then Patton. " noooo not another oneeeeee." He dragged out his words.

"Perfect" he slid a piece of paper in my hand. "Pack you things, you have my number and address there." Logan said plainly. I tried to interrupt him. " if you don't want to live with us, we can wipe your memory of this ever happening and you can go back to your usual life."

These are other shifters, I won't be alone if I go there.

I sigh.

"I'll be there."

— — —

And now I'm here.

Sitting on my sofa, Patton in the kitchen making food, Roman blabbering on to Logan about something while I mindlessly a scroll through tumblr.. until I hear my name being called.

"I can't really get any info from you anymore. Hey Virgil, what's it like having wings." Roman asks, I spot Logan's face darken but I ignore it.

"Uh.. it nothing really, you can just fly and have a portable blanket." I shrug.

Roman goes to say something but Logan interjects.

" I mean there's also the fact your faster, it's a great weapon and a shield from over head and low attacks. It's lovely to-" Logan is cut off by his own hand covering his mouth.

What? How the hell does he know all of that?

"What do you know about that? Your a reptile shifter not a flight shifter or whatever." Roman spat.

" uh lo?" Patton says, entering the room.

Logan's face darkens a lot as he stands up. "I must be leaving." He walks out of the front door and closes it.

Patton scowls at roman.

"What?! I'm being- oh.. whoops." Roman looked guilty. " shit" he mumbles, quiet enough so Patton doesn't hear him. "I'll go find him." Roman soon left to get Logan.

"Pat can you explain what just happened." I ask, slightly worried about my friend. Actually really worried, he got sad when I showed my wings off or anyone talked about them. Does he not like wings or something) no he was sad , did he loose someone with wings maybe.

"Well kiddo, it happened about 3 weeks before we found you."-

Here's a explanation on what a shifter is

Noun

A human that can turn or 'shift' into a type of mythical or normal animal, sometimes changing parts of their body or the whole thing into an animal.

Example

A cat shifter - able to shift into any type of cat being big or domestic.

Noun

The animal a shifter turns into, these have different names to the shifter. Mythical shifts have different genders to the shifter and different personalities and sexuality's.
