# Thirty Four
My friends say I'm insane, because I read the last page/chapter of the book before reading from the beginning.
Why?
Because 1) I'm really curious, 2) I want to see how it ends to see whether there are clues in the book that indicate the end, 3) to see if the main characters get together and 4) to see if the book is worth reading.
This started in primary school, but I tried to unlearn this while on Wattpad. That was until I read books like this:
- The girl and guy don't get together, because the guy temporarily has a relationship with another girl. The girl blames him when she finally admits her feelings after he broke up with the girl and I was furious, because he made his true intentions clear from the start. She just didn't believe him.
- There was a lot of drama and the main characters finally get together. She turns 18 in another city, goes clubbing with her friend and gets drugged and dies.
- Girl ends up with a guy other than the main guy.
- One of them move away forever, blah blah blah.
I HATE THAT and then the author puts this little note saying 'Not all stories have happy endings'.
I know that, but that's real life.
I read to escape and I want to read stories with happy endings. Of course bad things can happen and characters can die, but NOT THE MAIN CHARACTERS.
So honestly, this is why I still read the last chapter first and if it has a sad ending? Let's just say that book disappears from my library.
