For context we re visted 2 main poems by amanda gorman (look her up she is cool). she is a black woman who is a bit young. She spoke at some places and such. We had to write a poem inspired by her poem ' The Hill we Climb ' and/or ' The Miracle of Morning' and here is what I did. I haven't turned it in but I will in a sec lol. Tell me what you think. We could do rhyming or free verse and I did mostly free verse. Keep in mind I'm newer to poetry and I'm in middle school- yee here ya go

' Look for the light at the end of the tunnel' we are often told.

That's what I live by to live my days in this dark world where disaster strikes frequently.

For when the light shines you can truly see the part of this world that is often forgotten

Look around you closer,

What do you see?

Or even go onto the internet or look at the tv

Whether you realize or not, we are all in this together,

Even when it is snowy, hot or stormy weather.

Yes, the world is dark and not always so elegant and beautiful,

But just look for the light in the dark, and you will make it.
