KHUSHI

It's crazy how life happens isn't it? One moment you are madly in love with your best friend hoping for a happily ever after and then you blink and bam, you are strangers.

Being in the same room with Arnav and talking to him after so long really hit me hard, I couldn't believe that after everything and after so long, I was still so attached to it.

It took us forever to build our friendship and it took just one moment to break it? Why were relationships so difficult to make and so easy to break?

I looked at him silently while he watched the two men set up hidden cameras and microphone in his room, he looked really nervous and skeptical, it was like he was so sure this plan wouldn't work, like he had said yesterday, it sounded too easy.

Sometimes easy things work, just because it is easy doesn't mean it won't work, and I wanted to believe that it was going to work so I had my confidence about it.

The only part left after this was for Arnav to finally get out of his room, I hoped that woman was still around here, because she definitely dint live in this hotel, she just came here with random men so her husband wouldn't find out.

"You okay?" I asked Arnav, he seemed pretty tense.

"I will be, after we get done with this." He replied, I just nodded as I grabbed my phone and decided to text Yug so it would keep my mind off Arnav, I dint want to feel a thing for him anymore so I was going to do whatever it took for me to avoid feeling for him.

"Everything is done." The men said as they looked at me.

"Perfect, once we are done, I'll give you a call you can come back and take your equipment. Dad will sort you with the payment." I smiled at them, they both nodded as they packed their stuff and left, leaving Arnav and me alone.

"So... how did your parents react on seeing you here?" Arnav asked trying to make a conversation so that there wouldn't be an awkward silence between us.

"They were happy, I visited after so long, they were even asking about you and why you haven't visited them, dad actually saw you here." I said.

"I dint have the courage to." Arnav said as he looked down at the floor.

So what was he going to do? Avoid everyone he knew? Did he plan on being alone his entire life with no friends, no family, not even a partner? Why was he doing this to himself, I wish I could just slap him and get him back to his senses, make him realize how he was ruining his life, but then a voice at the back of my head kept on telling me I had no right to do so as I wasn't his best friend anymore. I was nothing to him actually.

Sometimes I wonder how different things would have been if I hadn't been in contact with his parents, would we still be together? Or would he have found another reason to leave me?

Jeez, why was I even thinking all this, seeing Arnav always did this to me, I wanted to change my mind even when I had made it up and was sure as hell that I wouldn't change it.

Only he had the power to make me this weak.

"So I guess this is it, I'll get going home. You should get out of your room and go around, if you meet Sharmila anywhere, you know what to do right? Just lure her into your room and put my number on emergency dial, so you can just miscall me or anything when she comes and I'll be here." I just wanted to leave because staying anywhere near him was just reminding me of the past and I had moved on from the past, I dint want to revisit it.

"Okay, thank you for this." He smiled faintly.

"No problem." I smiled back as I walked out of his room, I had to be very careful while going out because if Sharmila saw me, she would never take the bait, I had to make sure I wasn't seen.

I got into my car and was above to drive off when my phone started ringing, I looked at the screen and saw Yug's name flashing on it so I decided to talk to him and then drive after I was done.

"Hey." I said trying to sound as cheerful as I could.

"Hey. I was just calling to check up on you." He said.

"It's okay, you can tell me that you miss me." I giggled.

"Well yeah, I kind of do. I miss you Khushi, I wish you were here." He finally admitted it, aww he was so cute.

"Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as possible. Might get done with half the stuff today then take one or two days to deal with it and I'll be back before you realize."

"Great, how's Arnav doing?"

"He's okay I guess. I mean of course there's the damage but he seems fine."

"Did he say anything? About you two?"

"Nope, don't worry, I don't think he wants us to get back together and even if he wants it now, I don't. Relax Yug." I laughed.

"I'm just asking, he's my cousin I care for him too."

"I know, once we sort this out, I'm sure he will be way better than he is now."

"I hope it all works out then. Anyway I've got a meeting to attend, I'll call you later?"

"Sure, take care."

"You too."

ARNAV

I really dint know what to do, it seemed like Sharmila was done with whatever she was doing here because I hadn't seen her the whole day, I kept on roaming around the entire place, even at the reception, in the garden and everywhere I thought she could be, but she was nowhere.

By evening I gave up and decided to head back to my room and get a bit of rest, I dint think this plan would work anyway, it just seemed like an easy perfect plan, she would see right through it.

I pressed the up button as I waited for the elevator at the lobby area when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around and there she was.

Wow, seeing her was already making me so nervous, how was I supposed to react? Was I supposed to be angry like I would always be or just ignore her or do what? I dint want to give her an idea if the plan so I decided to act how I would normally.

"Get your hand off me!" I said as I took a step away from her, the elevator door opened up at that exact time and I got inside and as expected she followed me in, at this moment I really wish someone else was in the elevator with us, I dint want to be in the alone with her.

I pulled out my phone from the pocked as I dialed Khushi's number and put it back in my pocket before she would notice it.

"Come on Arnav, how long will you play hard to get?" She smirked as she grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and tried to act all sexy, I was just grossed out.

"What will you take for leaving me the hell alone!" I shouted at her angrily.

"I already told you what I wanted Arnav." She said.

I dint want to agree easily, because normally I wouldn't even agree but this was a plan and to make it work I had to take her to my room. What was she always doing here though? She spent most of her time here than she must be at her actual house.

"Come on Arnav, just you and me, one time and I promise I would never bother you again." She said.

The elevator stopped at my floor and I had to act immediately, what was I supposed to do? Why did this seem easy but was so freaking hard at the same time?

"And you will never show me your face ever again?" I asked as I stepped out of it, she followed me immediately with a huge smile on her face, seriously how low could this woman get?

"I promise, if we do this, I would never ever bother you again." She said as she followed me to my room.

"What's the proof, what if you still bother me, how do you expect me to trust you?" I asked as I unlocked the door and walked in, I was feeling really nervous, she was here, right in my room, she could repeat what she had done to me in childhood, and it was just so disgusting for me.

"I've got no proof, you would just have to believe me."

"No... I can't. Just leave me alone. You already ruined my childhood, stop ruining my life now!" I said angrily.

"Oh come on Arnav, I know you liked it when I touched you." She said as she started touching me, oh I wanted to push her away, I wanted to scream, but I tried not to, because I wanted to be sure that whatever that was getting recorded would help put her away for the rest of her life for trying to molest me.

"Don't touch me." I said as I tried to take a step back, but she just grabbed my collar and pulled me closer to her, I don't even know how she did it but before I could even realize what was going on, she had unzipped my pants and pushed her hand inside and that was it, I couldn't take any more than that.

"What the hell! I said no! how dare you." I shouted at her angrily.

"Hey boy, lower than voice of yours. If I want, I will tie you up here, do whatever I want and no one would come to your rescue, I am trying to be nice, you better oblige." She looked at me angrily.

Khushi where are you?

Obviously, I was strong enough to tackle this woman, but I dint want to do anything that she could use against me, right now I was sure we have everything we needed to get her to jail, I just needed to think and act.

"I am not a kid anymore, you can't force me like you did when I was a kid."

"Trust me Arnav, I can." She smirked.

"No you can't and I am going to make sure you never ever try this again, with anyone!" I said angrily, the door to my room flew open as Khushi came rushing in, I was so glad that she was finally here and we had whatever we needed to put this woman in jail.

"Get off my best friend!" Khushi said as she stood between her and me.

"Oh, I see you brought your little bodyguard along. You are no more sexy to me, if a grown up man like you needs a woman to protect him, eww, that's just disgusting."

"No! People like you are disgusting!" I said angrily to her.

"What is she going to do anyway, it's not like you both can do anything, I am a powerful person here." She smirked.

"We can just do as little as getting you arrested." Khushi said as two policewomen walked in and grabbed her, Sharmila just looked shock not knowing what had just happened.

It was finally time for her to pay for her deeds.
