Part 4 - Boyfriend
Arnav decided to cook breakfast for Tanvi and I but Tanvi left early saying she had to go home first as she dint bring her books along, so Arnav was in the kitchen making breakfast while I was in my room getting ready.
When I was done, I turned around and found Arnav leaning against the door with both his arms folded and he was staring at me.
"Arnie. How long have you been there?" I asked as I walked towards him.
"Long enough to notice that you actually look pretty." He laughed.
"Oh wow, you finally noticed." I rolled my eyes at him as I headed out and he followed me.
"Just because I haven't said it, doesn't mean I've never noticed it." He replied. I stopped walking and turned to look at him, this was strange, he was complimenting me, he never did that no matter how good I looked, he would always have something stupid to say.
"Shona, I know I'm hot, stop staring." He smirked.
"I'm just wondering what those girls see in you." I laughed as I walked towards the dining table, pulled out the chair and sat down.
"On a serious note, are you okay? Or still scared about the stalker?" He asked as he settled down opposite me.
"Of course it's scary, I just can't stop thinking about me, and it's stressing me out so much." I said.
Right now it wasn't even about the stalker, it was about the secret he knew, if Arnav found out, he would hate me and the last thing I wanted was for my best friend to hate me. To make it worse, last night I felt some stupid feelings towards him which I shouldn't, it would just make things more complicated.
"Don't worry, I've already talked to someone, by the end of today, there would be a camera fixed outside, you don't have to worry about anything, I'm here for you and whoever this person is, they would have to go through me to get to you." He placed his hand on mine and smiled.
Those strange feelings erupted inside me once again at his touch. How did this feelings just come up out of nowhere? I mean until before yesterday everything between us was so great and cool, now I was feeling this way any time he touched me, what had changed?
"Since when do you care that much about me?" I asked.
"Since forever, you've just never noticed it." He made faces at me making me laugh. We both had breakfast and then headed for college together. I really wished we were going to find this person soon.

I met Tanvi in the classroom so I headed to sit with her leaving Arnav behind talking to some girls, I don't know why but girls wouldn't just leave him alone for some reason. Everywhere we went, someone would always come up and try to talk to him, sometimes it got so irritating.
"Can we pass by my place in the evening? I can pack all my stuff so I can stay with you for a few more days until we catch the stalker?" Tanvi said.
"Arnav is getting the CCTV put today so you don't have to worry, you can stay at your place if you want." I said.
"No Khushi, we are best friends and we are in this together, I'm coming to stay with you okay?"
"If you say so, living alone is boring anyway." I smiled.
"Hello ladies." Arnav smirked as he settled down on the chair beside me.
"Are you don't flirting with your stupid girlfriends?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Oh Shona, if you talk like that I will think you are jealous." He smirked at me.
"Idiot." I slapped him playfully.
"So Arnie, are you going to stay at Khushi's place with us or go back to your place?" Tanvi asked.
"I'm going to stay with you two, who knows if the stalker kidnaps you, I am the only person that can save you." He smirked.
"Aren't you too overconfident?" Tanvi shrugged.
"I tell you, this guy is going to get beaten up someday." I giggled.
"Look at you two, you call yourselves my best friends." He pouted and then pulled out his phone as he started texting someone.
Just then my phone started vibrating, I pulled it up and looked at the screen, as soon as I saw who was calling me, I stood up making an excuse I had to go to the washroom and headed outside to receive the call.
Once I was out of the class, I pressed the receive button and pinned the phone on my ear.
"Hello aunty."
"Khushi. Why haven't you been picking my calls?" She asked worriedly.
"Sorry aunty, I just have a lot going on right now."
"Is Arnav okay?"
"Yeah he is fine... but I'm worried not for too long. There's someone blackmailing me."
"What do you mean?"
"Someone has been leaving some notes outside my house telling me to tell the secret or they will tell it for me. I don't know who it is or why they are doing that but I'm scared. You know if Arnav ever finds out, he would never forgive me.
I don't want to lose my best friend aunty, neither do I know how to stop this from happening. How would anyone even know our secret? It was between us? Did you tell anyone?"
"No Khushi! You know I wouldn't tell anyone."
"Well someone had found out and I don't know why they want to hold it against me, I'm just so scared."
"Don't worry Khushi, maybe it some other secret, how sure are you this is the secret the person is talking about?"
"Because I don't have any secrets."
"I am worried too, what if he finds out. He is going to be so broken, I can't imagine how he would even react."
"Sometimes I feel like I should tell him."
"If you want to, you can. I won't hold it against you."
"The problem is I can't. Whether he finds out from somewhere else or from me, he's never going to forgive me for it, and I am not ready to lose my best friend."
"Okay relax, I'll figure out something and give you a call as soon as I can, meanwhile just be careful he doesn't find out."
"I'll try." I sighed as I disconnected the call and turned around just to find Arnav standing there. Holy Shit! Did he hear the conversation? If he did, this was it, this was the end of or friendship.
"Who are you secretly talking to Shona?" He asked as he walked towards me.
"None of your business." I replied.
"Since when did you start hiding things from me? Do you have a boyfriend?" He opened his eyes wide in shock.
"Maybe I do." It was better than telling him who I was talking to and why and about what.
"Who is he?" His expressions were serious.
"I'm not telling you."
"Why not? I'm your best friend, if you don't tell me who will you tell?"
"I'm just not ready yet, plus I want to see if things work out, if they do, I will let you know, now excuse me I need to get back to class." I tried to walk away as soon as I could, this conversation was getting awkward already.
"Shona. Are you really seeing someone?" He asked once again, why couldn't he believe it? I mean I know it was a lie but he dint know that, he was supposed to believe it.
"Yes Arnie, I am seeing someone, just because you don't always find me hot doesn't mean other guys don't." I said angrily.
Why was he acting like it wasn't okay for me to date while it was for him to flirt around with the entire college?
"I was just making sure you are telling the truth, anyway you can get back to class, I have something to deal with." He said as he clenched his fists angrily and walked away.
Was he mad that I was dating someone? Or was he mad because I wasn't telling him who? Or was he just having mood swings?
