EPILOGUE
FUTURE

Enya awoke with the fresh smell of lavender entering her nose. She reached out to feel for Jimin, but he had already left the bed.
"Where'd you go?"

Jimin chuckled from across the room, so she peaked an eye open to look at him. "I ran you a bath. Wash up and then meet me for breakfast. I have a surprise for you."

Enya scoffed. "A bit bossy aren't we?"

Jimin smiled. "King's orders, darling."

"I think someone is getting an ego," Enya teased.

In the past six months, she and Jimin had been busy rebuilding a ruined kingdom. Jimin returned and took his rightful place on the throne. First, he denounced every official and let them and their families out of the castle. His council was replaced with those he trusted: Jeongguk as his right hand man, Enya as the governor of education, Minah as the treasurer, Taehyung as the governor of food distribution and agriculture, Chanyeol as the governor of war tactics, and Hoseok as the governor of safe magic studies. He didn't need a large council, just a small room of those he trusted and of those who trusted him.

The servants were receiving better treatment. It was Jimin's philosophy that a king must sleep on the same mattress as his servants. If he wanted a comfortable mattress, his servants would get one too. They also received actual pay and days off, along with their board.

Enya was still his fiancée, as the two of them agreed a wedding could wait while they rebuilt Krull and Eden. The raffle was officially renounced and the king's past motives were outed to everyone both in Krull and Eden. Jimin made sure that everyone knew they were equals, and to prove it, he officially renamed both lands Krullen. They were now merged as one, all under the same laws and regulations. More importantly, they all received the benefits and safety they needed from the king.

It was Jimin's duty to protect the people, and he did it very well. Everyone in the new Krullen loved him very much. They loved his honesty and vulnerability. They loved the way he treated even the lowest of the low: with the same respect he would treat the king of a neighboring country.

The old Krull was rebuilt properly. Everyone was given a new, sturdy home complete with hearths and beds to keep them warm. Clothing was donated by the thousands, as were seeds and food so that the land would once again flourish with flowers and plentiful fruit.

Hoseok's inn went out of debt, and became one of the best inns around. Perhaps that was because it was the king's favorite place to take his fiancée. Perhaps it was because Hoseok always loved to tell dramatic stories of his former adventures with his friends. Perhaps it was because of the newest perfected drink respectfully called "Yoongi's Drink".

Enya's past was known to all of Krull, and soon even the people of Eden knew that you were once a thief who had come to kill the prince. Many people thought of it as a cool story. It would be an amazing legend to tell their children one day. The thief who fell for the prince. Krull and Eden eventually bled into each other, until most prejudice was gone and it was more familiar to hear the term Krullen than it was to hear the previous names.

Enya was proud of all Jimin had done. She was proud of all the people he had let in. She was proud that he had stood up to his father. She was proud of how he took care of the people.

As Enya stepped out of the bath and dressed, she wondered what kind of surprise Jimin could've planned. She couldn't imagine anything he could make better at this point, save maybe setting up a bakery in the middle of the castle.

She walked to the kitchen slowly. Even the castle had changed. It was much brighter now, with more lanterns and windows placed everywhere. Carpets, interiors, pictures, and furniture was all changed. The old furniture was given for free to anyone who wanted it. The new furniture was light and brought a happier environment to the castle.

Enya found Jimin in the kitchen, chatting with the cooks as he buttered himself some toast. She wrapped her hands around his torso from behind and pressed a kiss between his clothed shoulder blades before grabbing some toast yourself and a knife. After greeting each of the cooks, she addressed Jimin, "What's my surprise?"

"Hoseok is bringing it," Jimin answered mysteriously, taking a bite out of his toast.

"I hope he comes quickly," Enya said.

"Me too," Jimin replied, bouncing on the balls of his feet. The cooks all chuckled and giggled at his expression.

"Do you guys know what it is?" Enya asked.

They only looked away coyly.

"Martha?" Enya addressed one of the cooks, who only giggled and turned away. She gasped, "Martha, I share my midnight snacks with you! How could you?"

Jimin snorted. "She's sworn to secrecy. Midnight snacks can't help you with this one."

Enya pouted. "Fine."

As Jimin and Enya finished their toast, he walked out of the castle, into the baby garden Jimin was struggling to grow. The new gardener, Seokjin, was out trimming the hedges. Enya and Jimin stopped to look at the little sprouts in the flower section of the garden. "I can't wait till they grow," she said.

Jimin hadn't been listening to her. Instead, he was looking towards the distance where Hoseok was walking, something in his arms.

"What's that?" Enya asked, squinting her eyes to hopefully spot what was wriggling around in Hoseok's arms.

The object suddenly jumped out of Hoseok's arms and ran to her and Jimin.

"A puppy!" Enya exclaimed. His black ears flopped around as he ran to her. "Hey, buddy!" She gathered him in her arms and held him close. "Is he ours? Can we name him Onyx?"

Jimin chuckled. "He's sort of already named. Why don't you check his collar?"

"Oh, okay." Enya turned the puppy's collar and read the tag aloud, "Will? His name is Will?"

Jimin rolled his eyes. "Read the rest of it!"

Enya obliged diligently, "Okay. Will you marry... me..?"

Enya looked up, and there Jimin was on one knee, holding out a ring. "Will you marry me, Enya? Officially? Without the raffle and without any strings attached?"

Enya could feel her cheeks beginning to hurt as a smile grew. "I've been calling you my fiancé this whole time, Jimin. Of course I want to."

Jimin blushed. "Yeah, well I thought we should make it officially official. We can get married in that little chapel I mentioned when you first came here. Remember?"

"I do," Enya said. "I would love to."

Jimin grinned and grabbed her hand, pushing the ring onto her third finger. He then intertwined his fingers with hers. "I love you, Enya."

Enya brought his hand to her lips and kissed it gently. "I love you too, Jimin."
