I watched the news report on Jackson in my jail cell with my cell mate Sarah Kanaran. She's been in this place for 5 years, alone, waiting for a cellmate so she could escape. But I wanted to stay in jail. Jack was safe that way. He's gotten better since I was put here a week ago. But I hear the report telling me he's saying my name in his sleep. How I long to run to him, kiss him, tell him I'm okay. We could have actually been in love had the world been fair. But nothing is fair when you're in jail. I was beaten, hurt, and so much has happened. But all I can think about was his song. I find myself wanting to hear it. Tears in my eyes, I begin to sing it softly.

"That girl with the blonde hair,
She's stolen my heart.
That girl with the-"

I couldn't handle anymore. I burst into tears. Sarah looked at me curiously.

"Who's that girl? Taylor Swift?"

I wiped my tears, giggle-crying.

"No... my boyfriend wrote it on our first date."

"Aww... That's sweet. Y'know, I had a crush once. Charming, handsome, sweet. His name was Jack."

"J-J-JACKSON?!"

"Oh, Jackson Roberts. I could never understand that boy. Handsome and confusing. Hey, you're his friend, aren't you? You think you can, maybe, like, set us up on a date?"

"NO!"

"Geez, girl, you gotta chill. I guess y'all aren't friends."

"NO, BECAUSE HE'S MY BOYFRIEND!"

"Oh. Hahaha. Nice one. Like Jackson would ever date you."

"Uhm, I'm his true love!"

"Yeah, and so is every other girl. Your boy's famous, Lotus."

"That-THAT'S NOT TRUE! I'M THE ONLY GIRL HE'S EVER KISSED!"

"Mmhm. Then is that you?"

The news report showed Jack. And he was kissing BRIANNA.

"But... But he said... he loved me!"

"Welcome to the world of boys."

I sobbed and Sarah ran to comfort me. My heart had been shattered. Jack. My Jack .
