The Were Roommates .5.
Ravens Pov.
As I sit in class, listening to the professor discuss the "Core Principles of Leadership," I jot down notes. Pausing, my mind wanders through the events of the past month. Sirius and I have decided to become mates, and since then, my wolf has been in constant communication with me. I feel at peace, complete. The night terrors have ceased, and I can breathe freely, no longer concealing my true self. At this moment, everything feels right in my world.
I'm thinking back on the first week of school with Sirius, and I can't help but bite my lip thinking about how much he enjoyed that night. It's a bit confusing, though, because since then, all we've done is share a few kisses. Honestly, I want so much more. I want to explore every part of him, taste him, and fully indulge in our connection.
"You should pay attention," my wolf Destin huffed. Rolling my eyes, I refocused on the teacher just as he captured my attention again. "Tonight is a full moon; make sure to speak to the professor after class," Destin instructed. "About what?" I inquired, feeling him shake his metaphorical head in exasperation. "Transforming into a wolf is a painful process that requires the supervision of older, powerful wolves to help us control ourselves. We tend to rampage during our first transformation," he explained matter-of-factly. "Besides," he added after a pause, "you've already rejected one of our mates. I don't want you killing the other in a blood rage." I growled loudly, furious at his words, and was about to retort when I sensed an imposing presence standing over me. "Is there a problem?" Professor Ivan inquired, looking down at me with amusement. Clearing my throat, I managed a forced smile. "No, Professor Ivan," I replied. He nodded and resumed the lesson. "Idiot," Destin murmured through our link.
Ignoring him, I refocused on the teacher, frustrated by the realization that he was correct. In the past month, I've been so elated about having a mate that I neglected to ask Professor Ivan about the pages or inquire about Second Chance Mates.
As the bell rang, I methodically set aside my notebook and pen. Once all the students had exited the classroom, I secured the door before turning my attention to Professor Ivan. Standing by the door, I felt a tightness in my throat, my anxiety rising as he looked up from his desk with a raised eyebrow. "I appreciate the interest, but I don't engage in relationships with students, past or present," he replied coolly, causing a flush to creep across my cheeks. Professor Ivan was undeniably an attractive figure, and I had entertained fantasies about him on numerous occasions, yearning to assert my dominance over such a commanding presence. His sandy brown hair, deep honey-brown eyes, and the thick, curly mane he always wore loose, coupled with his chiseled jawline, made him undeniably tantalizing. However, that was in the past; I am now a devoted mate. With a smirk, I exchanged a knowing glance with him before shaking my head. "This is not a confession, Professor," I asserted as I took a seat in the chair opposite him.
Professor Ivan was the ideal person to consult because he was as ancient as the dragon; perhaps he could decipher the script on the pages or even possess knowledge about second chance mates. "I actually want to discuss something with you in private; it's important," I said. Pausing, he stopped to look at me, offering his full attention. "What's going on?" Professor Ivan inquired. Swallowing thickly, I pulled out my phone and showed him the pages. "Do you see anything written here?" I asked him practically, shoving the phone in his face.
He stared at me for a moment before taking the phone from my hand. After examining my phone, he looked up and asked, "You do realize this is blank, right?" His question made me pause. Damn it, he couldn't see it either. As he handed back my phone, I accepted it, my gaze fixed on the photo. Looking up at the professor, I posed the question that had been weighing on my mind. "Do you believe in second chance mates?" I finally asked. He met my gaze in silence, then stood up and walked over to me, leaning on the edge of his desk.
"Raven, have you encountered your second chance mate?" he finally inquired softly. I nodded, looking at him with a blend of confusion and curiosity, eager for him to clarify what was unfolding. He returned the nod, briefly stared at the wall, then turned his attention back to me. "Second-chance mates were once a common occurrence among werewolves. The moon goddess would allow us another chance to discover our other half if our true mate passed away, but you were granted only one opportunity. If your second chance mate were to die, you would also ultimately meet your end. There were even rare cases where rejecting your mate could lead to the possibility of finding another, but even those occurrences were rare. However, with werewolves embracing a rigid system of arranged marriages and those who would kill off their first mate which directly contradicted the moon goddess's blessing of the mate bond, the chance to find a second chance mate also since vanished. As far as I know, you are the first to have a second chance mate in many decades," he elaborated, observing me intently.
Perplexed, I stared at him, nodding slowly as I absorbed the information. It was hard to believe. "I can't decipher the text from the photo you showed me; ancient scripts just don't translate well on modern devices. However, I'm convinced it's a record and possibly a guide about Second Chance Mates. That said, you shouldn't have been able to read it at all. Honestly, I'm shocked you even found any trace of it, considering all knowledge of it has either been destroyed or forgotten long ago." I ran my fingers through my hair and shrugged. "I really don't know how it happened," I confessed, recounting to the Professor how I had rejected my mate and stumbled upon the golden book hidden in the library's restricted section just a month ago. "I'm really sorry that you had to go through that," he finally replied, and I shrugged it off, trying to act as if it didn't matter. "Look, tonight's a full moon. Based on what you've told me, it will be your first transformation, so I'll accompany you," he said. I nodded, locking eyes with the professor.
"Meet me at the east side gate near the old training grounds." he firmly stated, standing up he returned to sit at the chair by his desk. " I'm not sure how much of the ancient text you've managed to read, but ensure you mark your mate within three months, or the mate bond will ultimately disappear," he said, causing me to freeze. "Wait, what?" I asked, confused. He looked up at me, studying my expression. "When did you meet your mate?" he inquired. Swallowing thickly, I felt tears start to form. "Three years ago, as a freshman. He's my roommate, Sirius, and he's a Snake shifter," I blurted out. Leaning back, he looked at me, astonished. "A Snake shifter, how peculiar, yet even more so is that you still have a mate bond with him," he remarked, then his eyes widened. "Of course," he whispered, shaking his head in laughter. "This is your first shift, which means you haven't connected with your wolf. Because of this disconnect, even though you met your second-chance mate, you wouldn't sense them through a deep physical or mental link. "If you wish to retain your companion, I suggest mating with your mate promptly," he recommended, prompting me to exhale a breath I wasn't aware I'd been holding.
"I'll see you tonight," he said, dismissing me. I gave him a grateful smile, picked up my book bag, and walked to the door. After unlocking it, I stepped through and made a beeline for the dorms; I needed to see Sirius.
Sirius Pov.
As I entered the dorm room that I shared with Raven, I tossed my bag by the door. Realizing Raven wasn't back yet, I kicked off my shoes and began to undress while making my way to the bathroom. I felt grimy and unclean, but not in the way I would have preferred at that moment. Today was our monthly spar, and having to shift into all my forms and fight in one day was nothing short of exhausting. I turned on the shower, cranking the hot water and letting it run for a moment before stepping in, sighing as the warmth eased my sore, tense muscles. As I washed my body, I used a washcloth to scrub away the grime, dirt, and blood, then moved on to shampooing and conditioning my hair, humming a familiar tune. Rinsing my hair, I let the water cascade down my body, washing away the last remnants. After stepping out of the shower, I grabbed a towel from the rack and wrapped it around my waist. As I exited the bathroom, I found myself locking eyes with Raven, who had just walked in.
"Hey, Raven," I exclaimed with enthusiasm, drawing him into a tight embrace. As I inhaled his captivating scent, I felt a rush of excitement. "Hey, Sirius," Raven whispered in my ear, and I shivered as his hand slid down my abdomen. Pulling back, I noticed a glimmer in his eyes. "You look absolutely irresistible," he said with a smirk, a subtle smile playing on his lips. I kissed him briefly, pulling away before things escalated. With a growl, he pushed me onto his bed, his eyes now shining brightly. "Why do you keep pushing me away?" he demanded, advancing toward me, memories of that night flooding back. I swallowed hard, focusing on Raven and gradually relaxing. "I'm not pushing you away," I finally replied, watching his expression shift to confusion.
"Why do you continue to disregard my attempts? I believed you had accepted me that evening. I thought we would finally have the opportunity to be together, yet we have only shared a kiss, and nothing beyond that. I want to emphasize that I respect your boundaries," he remarked, as he began to relax with each word spoken, the light in his eyes fading until only Raven remained. "I do not wish to make you feel uneasy. Did you agree that night solely because you felt pressured by me?" he inquired, leaving me taken aback. I positioned myself at the edge of the bed and took hold of his hands. "I simply wanted to take things slow. I know you allowed me to taste you that night, but it felt as though we were moving too quickly. My intention was to demonstrate that my feelings for you extended beyond physical intimacy; I wanted to cherish you as you have cherished me," I explained gently.
"Oh, now I feel kind of silly," he exhaled, turning away from me in embarrassment. "Sorry for being rough with you a moment ago; the full moon is making me sensitive," he mumbled, still avoiding my gaze. Placing my hands on his cheeks, I gently turned his face toward mine and offered a reassuring smile. "I'm sorry if I upset you," I soothed, pressing a kiss to his lips. "There's something I need to discuss with you, but let me get dressed first," I said. He looked down at me, nodded, and took a seat. I walked over to my dresser, pulled out a pair of boxers, and slid them on beneath my towel. Letting the towel fall, I quickly put on my pajama bottoms and returned to Raven.
Good evening,
Today, I present to you an extra-long chapter! My apologies for the delay, but I believe this chapter will bring clarity to many things. So, I have identified several stories: "Lucifer's Bride," "May I Cum," "Our Thick Girl," "Becoming His Dom," and "Incubus." Should I publish them in their current form, or would it be more beneficial to revise them beforehand? Upon reviewing many of these works, I find myself feeling embarrassed by my previous writing. Considering the new stories that have been posted, would it be advisable to revise these works while maintaining the original plot?
With love, GoYaoiNeverGoBack.
Please note that the chapter is unedited. Remember to leave a comment and vote!
