When Preeta opened her eyes for the first time in six months; she felt agitated and confused. She didn't know what was happening or why there were people around her wearing lab coats and talking things she was understanding. Before she had opened her eyes she had heard someone talk to her so emotionally that she found herself crying and even heard him shout "she's awake" and now she must think she was dreaming about it.

The doctors around her were checking her vitals to see if she doesn't have any brain damage especially after spending a lot of time in a coma state. To say that they were surprised would be an underestimate. Her organs were functioning well as well as her brain. Usually there are some cases were coma patients suffer from brain damage and to some it doesn't but with Preeta's case it's really a miracle.

"We should do a scan and see how the unborn babies are doing", Preeta heard one of doctors say and was surprised

"Babies?" She asked confusedly and worriedly at the same time.

She looked and touched on her now big stomach and realized that she was in deed pregnant.

"You been in coma for six months and the time you were brought here, you were only a few weeks pregnant. What do you remember Ms. Preeta".

Preeta looked at the doctor as she tried to remember everything and she couldn't hold back tears as remembered everything. Her wedding, Karan's betrayal and mother's death were too painful to remember that she started breathing heavily and the doctor had to give her an injection that calmed her and made her sleep again.

"She will be awake in a few hours, however they are still tests that I wanna carry out. I want them to be ready by the time she wakes up", one of the doctors said as they left Preeta's room.

When Karan was asked to stay outside; he wasn't happy about it. He wanted to see and be there when Preeta fully opened her eyes but he understood that he will only be in the doctor's way of treating Preeta.
He stayed behind but he was feeling so many emotions at the stay time. He felt happy that she was finally out of coma; excited because he couldn't wait to see her, afraid because he didn't know what her reaction will be upon seeing his face. He was pessing here and there waiting for the doctors to come out and tell him what was happening. Time passed and he was becoming impatient so he went and knocked on the door. The doctors told him to wait outside. He became frastuated and instead sat down to wait.

After sometime, the doctors came out; he ran to them like a mad man and asked them how she was doing?

"She's out of coma but you still can't see her now?"

"Why?"

"We sedated her, so she won't wake up till later hours. And Mr. Luthra you need to go home freshen up and get some rest; you've been here since last night, you wouldn't want us to admit; would you?".

"But I have....

"No but just go away"

After so much pleading from the doctor he agreed to go back but not before making the doctor promise that he calls him as soon as she was wake.

For the first time in six months, the Luthras witnessed Karan's smile. It was odd so they asked him to share with them why he was happy.

"Mum, Preeta woke up today. She's out of coma".

Everyone smiled and become happy after hearing about the news.

"That's the greatest news we've had in a while".

"How is she doing?. Did you talk to her?".

Karan became sad instead and told them he didn't talk to her

"The doctors sedated her because she was becoming agitated and perhaps scared. They had to sedate her in order to calm her. But mum am scared to face her; what will I look at her after everything I've done to her especially if am the reason she has been bed ridden all this time; I feel afraid".

"That's understandable but you can't hide forever and she needs to know that you've been taking care of her and also to apologise to her. Preeta has always been a sweet girl am sure she will eventually forgive you. Besides am grateful to God that you've become a responsible man and am so proud of you. Your gonna be a great man".

"Thanks mum", he said as Rahki gave him a heart warming hug.

He then excused himself and left for his room. Thinking about Preeta and his children. Till this day, it still surprises him that he's a soon to be dad to twins and from the love his life. He's grateful to God and he prays that Preeta is able to forgive him so they raise their children together.

The following day, he left home early didn't even have his breakfast. He was in the rash because the doctor didn't call him as promised so he was eager.

When he reached the hospital, he found that Preeta was awake but wasn't alone. She had company. Her family was already there and even though his relationship with them was improving it wasn't where he wanted it to be, they still blamed him nevertheless especially Shrishti. So he decided to wait from outside. And that's where Sophia and Soya found him.

"Hey Karan"

"Sophia, Zoya good to see you both"

"What are you doing here so early"

"I heard Preeta is awake and wanted to see her"

"Oh"

"But she has company, so am waiting here".

Karan had flowers he had brought for Preeta. Zoya saw them and told him how he had good taste.

"They are her favourite", he said smiling.

After a few hours when everyone was gone. Karan decided to go and see Preeta. His heart was pumping so first and was swating. This was the first time he was gonna be face to face with her since he left her behind on that fateful day.

He knocked and slowly entered. He had held the flowers up covering his face so Preeta hadn't seen his face. For Preeta when she saw someone entre her room with flowers she was smiling because these are her favourite flowers.

When he placed them on the table, he turned and "hi Preeta"

For Preeta as soon as she heard his voice and saw his face; she stilled in one place, she was surprised and afraid at the same time. Their eyes were locked each other and while Karan was smiling Preeta's smile had died the moment she saw him. He then starred at her big stomach while smiling, Preeta touched it protectively but didn't say anything. She couldn't believe that Karan was actually standing in front of her and little by little tears started coming out of her eyes because she started remembering all the bad things he did to her. She turned and looked the other way.

"Preeta please am sorry. Please look at me"
He pleaded but she refused and that's how the nurse came in and asked him to leave as he was disturbing the patient.

"Don't let him near me. I don't want to see him", Karan heard Preeta telling the nurse as he went out and it only broke his heart. His babydoll didn't want to see him and he couldn't blame her. He brought this upon himself.

Karan went back home. He was sad and his eyes were red. He didn't want his family to see this sad so he went straight to his room but they saw his condition and wondered why he was miserable for a person who left smiling this morning.

"Only Preeta could make him this miserable so I guess it didn't go well", Kritika murmured

"I agree with you", Rishabh said and decided to follow him.

Karan was about to lock his but Rishabh didn't let him. Instead he came and comfortable him.

Karan cried on his shoulder

"She hates me, she doesn't wanna see me", he said emotionally

"No she doesn't, it's only a reaction. You should understand that"

"I do but when I say she hates its because it's true. She didn't even wanna look at my face".

"Don't be too negative, it's still early and she just came out coma. Her mind feels like it was yesterday. The emotions, losing her mom for her its like it happened yesterday even if it's been six months and don't give up okay".

He nodded his head.

Rishabh left him in his own thoughts as he tried to think what his next strategy will be to win over his babydoll.

Over the course of next few weeks ; Physically Preeta became well and was discharged though emotionally she was still unstable hence the doctors advised her to stay away from things that affect her emotionally and the main reason here was Karan Luthra. However when Sophia told him about it he didn't take it seriously. He was going to fight for his love.

One day he came at Aroras with a track full of flowers; he was determined to talk to her. Neighbours were surprised at his gesture and some even helped him bring the flowers at Aroras house. There was a lot commotion outside that Jhanki had to open the door and see what was taking place. And as soon as she opened the door; people started bringing flowers inside their house. She looks puzzled and called Sophia and Zoya who were with Preeta in her bedroom.

To say that they were surprised would be an underestimate. They saw his gesture as really romantic and were happy that Karan Luthra would do this without shame. It showed to them that he truly loves and cares for Preeta for the past months however they didn't think Preeta would be impressed.

They let him inside and even told him that Preeta is in her bedroom. They left them to talk it out, Karan forgot to lock the door so whatever he was going to talk about with Preeta was going to heard.

"What are you doing here?", She asked as soon as she saw him entre her room.

"Am here to apologize and to talk to you"

"Haven't I made myself clear that I don't want to see you here?"

"You have my love but I can't do it. Preeta I love you too much to give up on us".

"You know I doubt if you ever even loved me"

"What would you doubt me, of course I love you".

"You don't treat the people you love the way you did with me. I asked for a chance from you to explain myself but you never did. That's not how friend's treat their best friends, you could've at least had a doubt but you didn't instead you pretended to care and then stab me in the back".

"Preeta, l......am very sorry. I don't know where to start from but you have to believe me that I love you. I can't survive without. I can't live without you. Preeta your my heart, body and soul. If your not in my life, then you will take everything good away from my life". Karan said emotionally.

Preeta was only looking at him emotionally without saying anything.

"I hurt you, the words I said to you that day still haunt me till today. The way you chased my car that day I still see it like it was yesterday and believe me when I say that I curse myself about it. I was angry because I thought you hurt my father. I was wrong to assume you did. I should've trusted you".

"But you didn't and that hurt me more than anything; all that time I was searching and had nowhere to run, it started me thinking wondering what I could make of my life. I felt lonely. I asked all kinds of questions to myself but never finding answers. I cried to the top of my voice but no one was listening. And you know what Karan all this time, I still remember everything you said and so much you promised; I couldn't ever forget them. It hurts and its hurts till now".

"Preeta please"

"The truth is that I know you know that i love you very much but I can't take it. I love you but am playing for keeps and even though I need you, I can't make this. I want to but am into deep. You hurt me so bad. My mom is gone because of you. Please leave and that rubbish ( flowers) with you".

"Preeta, you just said you love me, then please forgive me. I promise to be a better man for you and a better father for our children but please let me in please forgive me".

"You know that it's easy to forgive. You wantvme to forgive you. I can easily forgive you but do you think I can easily forget everything?. The wounds are too deep Karan, I can't deal with you and neither do I wanna be close to your family. I know how they treat people especially those from middle class like me. So I kindly ask you to leave my house because I don't want you here".

"Preeta please forgive me; think about our love, the promises we made and our plans we made, please reconsider I can't live without you".

"You broke all of them that day". They were all crying. Karan was pleading but Preeta couldn't look at him. She got up and went inside her bathroom and locked herself inside.

Karan tried to stop her and she was too first. He knocked on the door but all he heard were her cries and he felt terrible about himself because once again he's making her cry.

"I won't give up on us Preeta, you hear me I won't. I will be back for you. I love you".

He left her room and sat in the sitting room with tears in his eyes. Sophia, Zoya and Jhanki who heard everything were also crying silently. They felt sorry for him.

"Why didn't I say the things I needed to say before?,how can I let my angel get away. And now I feel like my world is trumbling down because she's not with me. I can't let it end like this no am not", he said seriously

"As a friend who has been there from the beginning I say don't give up. Preeta loves you but she's still hurting and don't forget that she's pregnant, am sorry that both of you are suffering however I think this is one of those phases couples go through".

"Yes, your right. I will take my leave but will be back".

Am sorry I took so long but I hope it was worth it.
