CHAPTER 3- Dominic

I walked into the new boutique that had been the talk of the town for days. I hated social gatherings, but I needed to get the assignments done or else he would get angry, and she would be disappointed. I scanned the interior with a critical eye.

"Pff..." I sighed exasperatedly. Mindless beings, they only care about material things. No wonder she always had a bitter tone when she talked about them and how they've tinted their souls with desires for earthly pleasures.

Already irritated with the atmosphere and the different classes of low life, I was snapped out of my thoughts when a woman approached me. I looked her up and down, my gaze resting on her name tag, Becky Sanders.

Apart from the over-the-top makeup that made her look provocative, she looked decent, thanks to the uniform. Do businesses not monitor what their employees put on their faces anymore? It is worse than we thought.

Here was their employee, batting her eyelashes flirtatiously, trying to get my attention. She did that flirty thing with her eyes at me, and I couldn't help but feel more disgusted. I forced a smile, trying to hide my disinterest. "Hey handsome, how can I help you?" she asked, dangerously close to me. I tried my best not to react violently.

"Uh, can you please lead me to the female section? I'm trying to find a cute dress for my niece."

She winked at me before sharply turning on her heels and walking deeper into the store. I followed behind her, keeping pace thanks to my longtime workout sessions. She stopped at the sign that read 'female aisle' before handing me a slip of paper and whispering into my ear, "If you'd like, I can show you other things I'm good at leading another time." She gestured 'call me' with her hands before blushing and walking away.

I shook my head, visibly shocked by her audacity. Did she think that was cute? I snickered before proceeding deeper into the female section. I don't know why he didn't come with me, but it would have been much easier if he were here. I used my hands to check and move the clothes. Our sisters would be much younger than we are, so I think I'm checking the wrong sizes. Thank goodness, we had found one already.

As I moved to the smaller size and age range section, that was when I saw her. She looked so beautiful in her long floral gown, properly covered unlike these other provocatively dressed women. Could it be? Have I found the other one after such a long time of searching?

They would be so proud of me. I watched her closely, admiring her hair which swayed gently with each movement. Her skin looked so flawless, but behind that entire glow laid something much deeper...sadness. I could tell by the way she moved and sighed continuously. Why would she even be shopping alone? Is she lonely? Does she need comfort? I thought endlessly.

I continued gazing at her until she suddenly froze in her spot, and my eyes keenly searched for what could have possibly shocked her. I trailed her gaze and found myself looking at a yellow top with a kid's cartoon on it. She stood like that for a minute, and It was clear that the shirt triggered some memories.

"You're hurt," I said, breaking the silence. She looked straight at me, her voice sharp with defiance. My heart skipped a beat at how feisty she was, but I reminded myself that she would soon learn. We're going to teach her how to behave properly. First, I had to introduce myself if we're ever going to build a relationship.

I stretched my hand towards her after introducing myself, and after a moment's hesitation, she finally shook it. Rhea. What a beautiful name. I have to call to let him know I've found her and she's perfect. She won't be sad for long because she's soon going to be with us, and we'll make her feel loved. Her voice is so angelic; it sounds like one of those lullabies she normally sang to us before things became bad.

Who is this boyfriend she speaks of? Even with this 'boyfriend', she still looks so sad. I would also have to let him know because it seems we'll have to save her as soon as possible. I was just about to ask her where we could meet again when he came to wrap his hands around her waist. I gritted my teeth and balled my fists. How dare he, after causing her so much pain?

However, I couldn't ruin this. I don't want her to be scared of me, and he would be disappointed in me for ruining this. I bade her farewell and quickly made my way towards the exit. I would complete the assignments later, but for now, we need to think about saving her.

I made my way to the parking lot and towards my dark blue jeep. Getting into the driver's seat, I took deep breaths trying to calm my raging temper. After taking a few moments, I picked up my phone and dialed his number. "I've found her."

"Perfect," he replied, his voice filled with satisfaction. "But we've got a situation," I quickly said.

"Go on," he replied, his tone darkening.

"Uhm, she looks broken, and she has a 'boyfriend'," I said the last word quietly, worried about his reaction. I waited a few moments, carefully listening to his breathing through the phone.

"We'll fix it," he replied darkly before ending the call. I sighed with relief as I leaned back in my seat. Don't worry, Rhea. We'll bring you home soon.
