Welcome Back Old Friend

I sigh as I watch my phone ring again.

They have all been calling me nonstop, but they don't need to. I know what I have to do. I'll be there, I won't let her down again.

I tug on my suit that's become rather big on me. I guess all the meals I've been missing have finally taken their toll. It doesn't matter, either way, I'm only wearing it for today. I get into my car and make my way over to the cemetery.

I'm late, but I couldn't be bothered to come early and shake hands with people I barely know.

I see the guys all crowded around Jungkook. His eyes look dead, he's not talking, only slightly nodding his head as people offer their condolences to him.

What's that gonna do? It doesn't fix the ache he and the rest of us are feeling. It won't bring her back, it won't make us feel better.

Jungkook is protectively holding onto my little bean when I finally make it to the front. Jackson and his gang are up at the coffin blocking my view as they break down.

I pat Jungkook's shoulder, but I don't think he has even registered it. I gently usher him to a chair in the front row, looking around to see there are quite a few people here.

I freeze as I notice a couple slip into the back. Rage fills me, but now is not the time to confront them. I turn back around and listen as Jin starts to speak.

The funeral passed in a daze. I can't remember what was said or what I said. Most everyone has left, much to my relief, and we all stand around the coffin quietly saying our last goodbye.

I stare down at my feet trying to regulate my breathing and keep myself calm. I hadn't realized I was crying until Jimin handed me a tissue. He doesn't comment on it, just stands beside me quietly patting my back as he cries too.

Jungkook isn't shedding any tears, he just stares blankly as he rocks Arabella.

"Excuse me..." I hear from behind me.

I quickly turn along with everyone else besides Jungkook, to see some of the foulest people I've ever known.

There, standing in front of us with tears in their eyes, are the two people who abandoned Jillian.

My fist clench and I take a step forward.

"What are you doing here?" I grit out.

"Who are they?" Namjoon asks confused.

"We are her parents," the woman says.

I hear the others gasp and Joon's hand rests on my shoulder holding me back as I make to move forward again.

"You aren't her parents. You are just an egg and sperm donor," I say harshly.

"Who do you think you're talking to! We are her parents we raised her!" The man shouts.

"You didn't raise her! You gave her away like she was nothing! How dare you call yourselves parents," I chuckle humorlessly stepping up to the man.

"We just want to say goodbye and meet our granddaughter," the woman says softly.

"You don't have a granddaughter! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!" I shout finally losing my patience.

"She is related to us by blood! You can't stop us from having a relationship with her!" The man argues back.

Suddenly Bells starts to cry loudly and I turn to see Jungkook holding on to her tightly. Jin steps forward to grab her, only for Kook to flinch away and tighten his hold on her.

"You can't take her!" he shouts.

"I'm just going to feed her Kook. I'll bring her right back," Jin says softly trying to soothe his nerves.

Jin carefully pulls Bells from Kook's grip and rushes off with her and her diaper bag. Jimin engulfs Kook in his arms as his tears roll down silently and he whispers everything will be okay.

A movement catches my eye and I quickly turn around to stop the two intruders from chasing after Jin.

"You need to fucking leave," I say through clenched teeth.

"I don't have to do shit!" the man says stepping up to me.

I go to cockback my arm only for it to be held. I glance and see Tae stopping me.

"Don't do it. Not here Yoongi," he says and nudges his chin to the side.

My eyes follow and I see Hoseok desperately trying to calm a heavily pregnant Dani. Jimin and Kook are both breaking beside the casket. Jin has disappeared.

"Okay..." I sigh out dropping my fist.

Joon steps in and I don't hear what he says. I only watch as he ushers out the two people I hope to never see again.

"Yoongi... we need to talk," Tae says nervously.

I shrug his hand off me and take one final look around. My eyes finally land on the casket I've been avoiding this whole time.

There she is. Dead. I can't take it, I've done what I needed to, now I need to go. I quickly grab my jacket and head out of the cemetery ignoring Tae's calls.

I slam my studio door closed and yank at the tie that has become a noose around my neck.

"Yoongi..." I hear a gentle voice call me.

I quickly look up to see a small figure sitting on my couch.

"Why are you here, Jamie?" I snap.

"I was worried about you, it's been a few weeks and I haven't heard from you," she says calmly, rising and moving over to stand in front of me.

"Are you okay?" She asks reaching out to touch me.

I flinch away from her and watch the hurt that flashes through her eyes.

"No, I'm not okay. You need to leave," I say harshly, moving away from the door so she can go.

"I'm not leaving Yoongi. I'm here for you, talk to me like we always do..." she says trying to reach me again.

"NO! IF I WASN'T WITH YOU, SHE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!"

"Yoongi, I'm sorry I didn't know you lost someone..." she says timidly.

"IF I HADN'T BEEN GIVING YOU MY TIME, I WOULD HAVE NOTICED SHE WAS STRUGGLING!" I shout and watch her scowl as my words sink in.

"Wow, really? I get that you're hurting, but that's not fair! You can't put the blame on me," she says firmly standing her ground.

"If I hadn't been messing around with you, I would have been there for my person," I say coldly.

I watch as her face turns emotionless.

"Good to know that's how you feel about the time we've spent together," she waits for me to respond.

But when I don't, I watch her gather her bag and walk out the door slamming it behind her. I throw myself onto the couch, laying back I feel a familiar sensation run through my body.

The darkness is calling me back to the place I belong. Whispering my name breathlessly over and over again.

Most are afraid of its voice, but not me. It's like walking into an old home. This steady sadness, this numbness holds me close like a lover.

Offering me peaceful destruction.
