Petition the Court
My hands shake as I clench the side of the paper, crumpling the edges as my eyes scan over the words printed onto it over and over again.
Who did these people think they are?
I could feel my anxiety rising through the roof, my legs threatening to give out under me as I lock them trying to stay upright. It feels like the breath I'd slowly started to inhale was snatched away from me, leaving me gasping and panicked for the next one. The rug was pulled from beneath me and everything is crumbling down.
But my panic is quickly pushed down as my blood starts to boil. These fucking trash people let the love of my life go through hell and then abandoned her again when she reached out to them. There was no way I would ever allow them to get close to my baby girl.
As I scan through the papers I feel like pulling out my hair. Not fully understanding everything stated in the forms, I realize I can't try and do this alone. I have a family and they will be the backbone I need to get through this.
I push the papers away from me and look around the room for my phone. I finally find it hidden under the jacket I had tossed on my drawing table. I impatiently tap my foot against the tile as I wait for Joon to pick up. If anyone could make sense of these documents it would be him, he handles all the legal work for the shop.
"Kook, I already told you I can't watch her, I've got a lot to catch up on," he answers the phone exasperated before I could even say anything.
"It's not that, Joon. She's with Yoongi," I say quickly trying to calm him.
"Then what is it? Did something happen?" his voice is tense and low, as he waits for my reply.
"I-I got a letter in the mail, Joon..." I pause trying to figure out the best way to explain this without sending him into a panic.
He clears his throat on the other side of the line breaking the silence. "It is from Jelly's parents, they are taking me to court for visitation rights. And I need your help."
"Fuck! I knew they wouldn't just leave things be," he mutters a few curses under his breath and I hear him scrambling around.
"I'll be there in 40 minutes. I was supposed to have a meeting with Mr. Smith, but I'll reschedule. Call Jin!" he huffs out before hanging up the line abruptly.

"I need to go, guys. I have to go and get Bells," I groan as I push away from the desk.
Joon, Jin, and I have been going through this for hours. Joon was nervous saying family law is different from what he knows, but he wouldn't stop helping.
"Can I take these with me, Kook, so I can continue to go over them?" he asks as he starts to stack the papers back together.
"Sure," I shrug on my jacket and grab my satchel from the corner of the room. "Uh, guys, I just...thanks so much," I say nervously scratching the back of my head.
Both guys nod and Jin engulfs me in his tight embrace. "Anything for you and my little Sweet Pea."
Before I head out of the door, Joon calls my attention. I turn around already knowing what he's going to say. Dread drowns me as his eyes narrow onto my still form.
"Make sure you tell Yoongi. Tonight," his eyes lock with mine and I quietly nod and leave the room.
Hopping into my car, I make my way to Yoongi's studio lost in thought. My body is on autopilot as I make the turns to where he is.
Would he be willing to testify? He didn't look good when I threw Bells at him this morning. He hasn't said a word to anyone in weeks and I know he's going through it. Would this be too much for him?
Before I know it, I'm pulling up in front of the building. I trudge down the hallway and knock on the frosted glass door only to be answered with silence. I knock again a little louder, but no sound is made behind the door.
I slowly open the door to see the studio destroyed. There are toys and pillows thrown around the room, the couch has been moved, his desk chair is knocked over and they are nowhere to be seen.
I walk over to the cornered couch and relief floods my system as I see both of them knocked out.
Yoongi's leg is hanging off while the other is outstretched on the couch. One arm is wrapped tightly around Bells who is sleeping on his chest and his other arm is thrown over his face covering his eyes.
I quietly pull my phone out to snap a picture but forget to fix the settings. As soon as I click it the flash and shutter sound both go off.
Fuck!
"Delete it," Yoongi grumbles not bothering to uncover his face.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I snicker quickly pocketing my phone.
"Don't make me hurt you, Jungkook," he carefully starts to sit up keeping Bella pressed against him.
"You wouldn't. You're a soft kitty cat," I tease and watch him try to keep fighting the grin that plays on his lips.
Jelly had mentioned once that he looked like a cat and it had been one of her favorite ways to tease him, but he always took it with his gummy smile on full display.
"What's the matter?" he's focused on me as I stand awkwardly beside the couch.
I huff out a breath and climb over the couch into his makeshift playpen.
"I got a court summons today, Yoongs. Jelly's parents want visitation," his face pales, and then his brows furrow in anger.
"Fuck them! They don't deserve it," he mutters and adjusts his hold on Bells so she's on his shoulder.
"I need you to be a witness for our side..." I pick at the loose strings of my shirt avoiding eye contact. "You'll have to talk about what you saw her go through, Yoongs, and about the visit."
He nudges his head softly against Bells, taking in a deep breath, "I'll do it."
My head snaps up in shock. I was expecting more of a fight, but he looks determined and focused as he nods his head at me.
"I won't let you guys down."
