Epilogue Part one: Graduation

Epilogue Part one: Graduation

Hannah:

This year had its ups and downs but as always I prevailed, me and Charlie together for our senior year strong but we did have our arguments. The girls from school continued hitting on him, Lucy kissing him during a dare at a party but he denied her, plus the biggie: university. I applied to Dartmouth, Maryland, and Penn State for my major English. He applied to Colorado, Brown and NYU for Computer Science. He got into NYU and I got into Dartmouth. None of those schools were near each of us. I told him that we can try the long distance thing but he told me that I should have applied to NYU with him so we can be together. Dartmouth has been my dream school since I was had a campus tour freshman year. With my good grades and the activities I joined glee and drama club I was set

Yes I'm in love with him but that's just too much to give up. We argued for a whole month until we agreed on just staying together and hold off everything when we graduate. Linda decided to apply to Stanford and Edward applied to University of Rhode Island, the funny thing is they broke up last month. However, they still stayed friends but it's not the same. She told me it was for the best but I had a feeling that she was heartbroken. Max, well he understood when I told him that I was still in love with Charlie, we didn't talk as much. He did get a girlfriend eventually, that's all I know. During Homecoming week, Lucy apologized to me on stage when she won Homecoming court, but it was very half assed. It went something like: 'Bullying is wrong, someone could get hurt. Sorry Hannah Tate for embarrassing you'. With a half-smile, she walked off with the Homecoming King Chris. I took it, can't hold any grudges from her. Louis and I are still friends; he started dating someone during the beginning of senior year. He told me he might be falling for her.

"Hannah, sweetie let's go!" Mom yelled from downstairs.

"Ok!" Putting on my white cap that matched with my gown, I walked downstairs slowly since I'm wearing heels. Mom insisted. Underneath my gown is a knee length black dress, straightened my hair for the occasion and light makeup. "I'm ready." I made my way downstairs my parents waiting for me by the door.

"My baby is growing up," mom gushed with tears in her eyes. She hugged me very tightly, hugging her back but I held my tears. She lets go so dad could give me a one armed hug.

"Enough with the tears, let's go." Dad announced and we were out the door, heading to the Showplace arena.

"CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2016!" Our principal announced over the microphone, we threw our caps in the air and everyone hugged each other. Linda didn't sit next to me since her last name was Carter, Edward's last name was Turner I sat next to this nice girl Sandra from my Physics class. The whole hoopla of the ceremony was such a blur; I could hear my mom screeching my name when I got my diploma. The valedictorian of our class was Jenna Hamilton, with a 4.25 GPA. She got accepted to Princeton with scholars and everything. Meeting all the seniors, I saw some familiar faces and hug them telling them we should keep in touch and hope to see them around. I really do hope we do. I felt arms around my shoulder, almost making me drop to the ground and I turned my head to meet Edward.

"Congrats, old lady," he grinned.

I punched him playfully, "you too, old man."

"Whatever, where's Linda?"

"Hey, hey graduates!" I heard Linda's voice behind me and she approached us, we had a three way hug for ten seconds then separated. "It feels so weird that we're finally done with high school."

"I know, we're adults now to make our own decisions." I chimed, giving a watery smile.

"Oh, Han don't cry I told you I will video chat you every day." Linda held my hand, giving me another hug.

"I know, but then we'll get busy and not see each other for a year and then-"

"Stop Hannah, that won't happen," Edward cut in,"we'll still be in touch. There's Facebook and Twitter, we'll never stay out of touch with each other. I love you guys."

"Awww, love you too Eddie," me and Linda said in unison, both giving him a sloppy kiss on the cheek. He groaned and told us to stop but we continued, he grabbed both of us by the waist to spin us around we yelled in glee.

"Hey graduate," I heard a voice, deep and low. Looking up to Charlie, with a small grin on his face he's holding his cap and diploma in both hands. I told Eddie to let go of me so I could talk to him. Linda and him told me that they'll see me at her house, her parents are throwing a graduation party there and everyone in our class is invited

. "Hi," I approached him, "happy graduation."

"Happy graduation," he responded, we shared a little silence between us. He grabbed my hand away from all the cheers and tears of the seniors and their parents, taking me to a secluded place by the building where no one was. "So we graduated," he said, leaning against the wall of the building.

"Yeah we did. It's exciting right? We're off to new ventures." I gave a sheepish laugh and he smirked at me.

"So what about us, are we still gonna be apart?" I licked my dry lips when he said this; I've been dreading this conversation since we argued. We just brushed it off like we never talked about it, but it was bound to happen. I had to tell him my decision; I know he's not gonna like it.

"Charlie, I love you with all my heart. You mean everything to me, I don't regret being with you but-"

"You're going to Dartmouth."

"Yeah." He nodded in response but I knew he was disappointed.

"I want to be with you, Charlie but it's my dream school. You wouldn't like it if I told you not to go to NYU."

"I get it, I wouldn't like it either. I'm just so in love with you that I don't want to let you go," he breathed out a laugh, but I saw his eyes glisten. He's crying, which is making me cry. I held him close, his arms around my waist and mine around his neck.

"I don't want to let you go either," I whispered to him. He nuzzled his face into my hair and kisses my neck. "What about long distance?" I suggested again.

"You know that won't work, I need to hold you like I am right now. I can't go one day without seeing you physically," he mumbled into my hair, this is breaking my heart.

"So what now?"

"Go to school and if we see each other again, fate will bring us back." I let go of him to look at his face, processing what he said.

"Are we breaking up?" I asked him, with hopeful eyes.

"More like a break. We still talk but we can see other people." I let out a small giggle to lighten the mood.

"It feels like we're back to before from the party."

"Not this time, I'm not hiding you. We talk to each other online, text and email. We'll see each other again," he finished and I couldn't help but smile. Our foreheads touched staring into each other's eyes and shared a passionate kiss.

"I love you, loopy."

"I love you bubbles."
