Chapter 6: Hello, Boyfriend, remember?

Chapter 6: Hello, Boyfriend, remember?

Hannah:

"I don't want to go to the party!" I whined to Linda as both of us were getting ready at her place. I told her I heard Max is throwing a party tonight. She squealed and demanded we should totally go, I refused at first since it's the same guy that put pudding on my chair and everyone thought I shitted on myself. Douchebag. Linda said it would be a good idea to crash it.

Technically, I'm not though Charlie invited me. Right now it's 8:50pm since the party started at seven, but you know we're being fashionably late. I came over to her house so we can get ready. "Yes we are, your hair is curled and light blue dress is on point. Now we have to do our makeup." I nodded tiredly at her, started putting on mascara carefully on my lashes. Linda's wearing a tight black and white strapless dress that's to her knees and her wavy hair strands. Mine is curly and dress is to the knees as well, flowy at the bottom with straps. After mascara I applied lip gloss, as does Linda and wore her shoes. Hers is heels, mine is ankle boots. I rather stay home and watch 'Gossip Girl'. It sucks that I can't confide in Linda or anyone about my secret boyfriend.

"Do you think that new guy will be there tonight?" Linda asked as she spritzed perfume on her skin. I grabbed the bottle from her doing the same, shrugging an 'I don't know' for an answer. "If he is, you should totally scoop that."

"What if he doesn't like me?"

"He does, I saw the way he looked at you and he was with you all day at school."

"I'm a student aid and I have to do that for every new student."

"I think he does. If you see him there, just flirt him up." I shook my head as we both made one last look in the mirror, leaving with our purses. It took some convincing for Ed to take us to the party, because he didn't want to go. Linda persuaded him with kisses and he said yes. I secretly texted Charlie that I'm on my way as me and Linda got into Ed's car.

Ten minutes of driving, I started to get a little anxious with seeing Charlie in a party where we can't touch, palms sweating and skin itchy. Linda breaks my trance, saying that we arrived. So this is where Max lives: his house is a freaking white mansion, a fountain in the front of the gate.

Only in Potomac, Maryland that there are rich kids that throw parties. We got out the car and made our way to the front door, of course teenagers are drunk already. Someone just threw up on the driveway. So gross. Linda grabbed mine and Ed's arm walking inside, "this is gonna be so much fun!" She screamed over the loud music. It just changed to Katy Perry's 'dark horse' and party goers are dancing mildly. She pulled my hand into the kitchen because we were blocking the doorway for people to enter. I searched to see if Charlie is here. "Hannah, he is here!" I frowned at her.

"Who?!"

"New guy! Twelve o' clock." She pointed behind me, I turned to see him in a dark blue t-shirt and fitted jeans, red cup in hand and talking to a guy.

He laughed at the guy's joke, his white teeth shown made me smile. Turning my head slightly I spotted Charlie with an guy next to him, same colored hair and eyes. Maybe that's his brother, he spoke of him before. Charlie in a red plaid shirt with black slacks ensemble looking cute, grinning to myself of how I want to kiss him right now. Maybe I should go up to him casually and say hi but I don't want to get embarrassed. But I don't want to ditch Linda and Ed. "Hey Lin" I started but I realize that I am talking to no one, Linda left my side. Great, I'm alone at this party. I head to the kitchen for a quick drink. Grabbing a gin bottle I mixed it with the sprite soda in a cup I'm not a big drinker, but there are times I start off a night with a cocktail to calm me down. I take a sip satisfied with how I can taste the soda more than the gin, leaning against the counter watching my peers act sloppy while wasted. "Not having fun?" a voice said in my ear, turning to see Louis pouring himself a drink.

"I just got here and my friends kinda ditched me," I explained. Linda and Ed probably found a room to make out with. "How did you know about the party?" I asked him. "Some girl invited me, so I thought what the hell," He shrugged and took a sip from his drink. I did the same staring at his strong jawline, cute nose and gorgeous eyes. Wait, why am I staring at him? Hello, Boyfriend, remember? Secret boyfriend but he is my boyfriend. "Like what you see?" he said breaking my daze.

"Huh?"

"You seem to be staring at something of interest?"

"The fridge is huge. I think it's a Kenmore." I said with a sheepish laugh. He noticed I was staring.

"Sure," he scoffed in disbelief. My cheeks burning embarrassed and shy. I heard the song change to a slow tune that I don't recognize. Louis asked if I wanted to dance.

"Uh," I stuttered, looking to the dance floor. Charlie holding a brunette's hips I recognize from my Chemistry class and getting too close for her own comfort. I sighed with frustration pulling Louis's hand to the music. He grabbed my waist as I hold his neck, swaying to the tempo.

"So where are you from originally?" I asked him interested.

"Florida."

"Cool. Is it really sunny there or lots of tsunamis?"

"It's mostly sunny. Tsunamis when the hummidity changes." I nodded, glancing next to me and Charlie with the brunette in his arms, anger all over his face glaring at is. He has no right to be posses. I turned back to Louis and asked if he likes the school.

"I don't really want to talk about school right now, it's the weekend." He responded.

"Oh, sorry. So what do you want to talk about?"

"How beautiful your eyes are." I smiled shyly, burying my head into his chest. The sweet smell of his cologne is comforting The song ended, replaced by a upbeat techno tune.

"I'll be right back, don't dance with any other guys ok?" I nodded. With a smile, he kissed my cheek and walked away. I'm so blushing right now, he's a sweet guy but my mind keeps going to Charlie, it shouldn't because he's having his fun with someone else. I need my fun too.

"You are fricking pretty!" someone yelled in my eat again, wrapping their around my shoulder. It made me jump in fear, seeing the source and it's the Charlie look-a-like. Where the hell do they get their eyes, it's like looking at a clean ocean.

"Thank you?" I told him that sounded like a question.

"Matt." He took his hand out.

I shook it and told him "Hannah."
"I hope you're not a freshman." He said with an evil glint in his eyes up and down my body.

"Junior. Are you in college?" I asked trying to keep the conversation going so it won't go wrong, feeling uncomfortable.

"Graduated but high school girls are always willing." I give out a shaky laugh as he gripped my waist tight. I smell alcohol on his breath, don't think he's drunk, just too touchy.

"Um, ha excuse me," I said quickly running from him, thanking the Lord he didn't follow me. I know I was supposed to wait for Louis, but I'm not taking any chances. I tried to find a room for me to salvage in for the rest of the night when someone pulled on my elbow and into an empty room.

"I have been watching you all night."

Matt- Matt Lanter

Louis- Aaron Taylor Johnson
