Chapter 4: We usually meet up on Fridays, what’s wrong?
Hannah:
After school ended me, Linda and Edward walked home together, we live in the same neighborhood. Seeing the street where my house was we parted ways.
I started to hum 'Happy’ by Pharrell when my phone vibrated. Reaching into my pocket, my screen popped a text notification from Charlie labled under 'loopy'. I chose that name for him, mine is bubbles from ‘Powerpuff Girls’.
Meet me at our place-loopy. I sighed, turning a corner from my street since it's a short walk, wondering why all of a sudden he wants to meet up twice in a row today.
Our place, the shack, is a small little abandoned brown house we found over the summer.
Manageable and clean enough for us to make out and talk. Making my way into the shack a shadowed figure coming toward it too. I put my guard up, hiding the other side of the shack. Sometimes teenage rebels come around here to play with their firecrackers. Thankfully no fires have started.
I peeked my head out a little, checking if they left. The coast is clear. While reaching the doorknob cold hands wrap around my eyes.
“Heeya!” I yelled throwing them over my shoulder and onto the ground.
“Ow, Hannah it’s me jeez,” the familiar voice claimed.
“Oh, my gosh babe I’m so sorry,” I said in a sympathetic voice, “You know you shouldn’t sneak up on me like that.” I helped him up from the ground and he brushed the dirt off his clothes. Those martial arts class really came in handy for defense. I can't use it on school grounds though, I might get expelled. No one has severely hurt me yet.
“It’s fine, sweetie. Come here,” he grabbed my head pecking my lips lightly. I smiled within, we parted staring into each other's eyes and testing our foreheads together.
He grabbed my hand pulling me inside. It’s not fully furnished, one big couch and an empty kitchen. The place has rooms but it's empty.
“We usually meet up on Fridays, what’s wrong?” I questioned, rubbing my arm from the harsh pull.
“I saw you talking to some dude I have never seen before. Who is he?” His face scrunced with concern and irriation. Of course, that’s what this was about: he saw some hot guy talking to me. He can talk to every skanky girl that throws her boobs at him but one guy talks to me and it's a problem.
“You mean Louis? What about him?” I said innocently.
“Louis seemed like he was flirting with you. What was that about?”
“He’s new. I’m a volunteer student aid, remember?”
“I don’t want you talking to him.”
“I gave him a tour of the school. You don’t even know him.”
“So? I still don’t want you talking to him.”
“Last I checked in public we are not together. I can talk to whoever I want.”
“Yeah, but not him.” I sighed exasperatedly and ran my hands over my face.
“Charlie, you’re so confusing. I saw you with some trampy girl flirting. No shame at all and I did nothing, as much as I wanted to cause a scene I restrained myself. Now you’re coming at me because a guy asked me to show him around? You actually deserve that takedown earlier to knock some sense in your head,” I ranted.
“Hannah banana, I didn’t come here to argue. I just wanted to see you. That girl meant nothing. You can talk to whoever you want, but I don’t want you dating anyone. You’re mine.” He said holding my face comforting. “I really like you.”
“I really like you too.” Our foreheads touched again, lips inching closely.
“One day,” he whispered, kissing me softly.
