Chapter 37: No one likes a liar, Charlie
Charlie:
I'm glad that she's ok. She looked great; her smile can light up the room. Since I haven't seen her, I should have told her about the English project and we got a 'B', she probably already knew. I did double the work for the powerpoint presentation and he really liked it. I know it wasn't much but it was the least I could do. Running into her when she almost fell, me saving her and our little talk, it was nice. As I watched her walk away, I headed to my class only to be stopped by Lucy. She grabbed my wrist, I pushed her away and walked off.
"I guess you're still pissed," she said smugly. Clenching my jaw to refrain from saying anything rude.
"Come on! Forgive and forget, she's just some violent loser you dated."
"Don't ever say that about her," I seethed looking over my shoulder
"She left a bruise on my back from pushing me against the lockers," her face was in a horror and looked like she wanted to cry but I could tell that it was fake. She's not gonna get my sympathy.
I snickered at her useless lies, she scoffed and walked away from me. Annoyed getting to class I laid my head on the desk waiting for this day to be over.

My last class, I packed my things, ignored the girls flirting with me as I tried to find Hannah. Ever since people found out that we broke up, more girls were thinking I would start dating and fall for them but they're wrong. Hannah is special to me and I wanted to at least be friends with her. Making my way to the parking lot, I know she's probably waiting for her dad there. I saw her laughing but she wasn't alone, a tall guy with black hair is in front of her making her laugh. Going closer to where they were, it's Max that's making her laugh. He's such a tool, like I believe that cock and bull story that he loves her.
He just wanted her because I had her first. We haven't talked since our confrontation at the hospital; I don't think I plan on talking to him now. He brushed her hair away from her face and she blushed red, looking down with a shy smile. Feeling heartbroken but it's my entire fault for pushing her away. They walked away to his car and he opened the passenger door for her, helping her one leg at a time, he went to the driver side. Shaking my head, I took a deep breath to take away the lump in my throat as I watched them drive away.
"So I guess she's on another stick," I heard Lucy's scratchy voice on my right. Closing my eyes tightly, I opened them to glance at her then turned away. "Charlie, wait!" She called for me but I ignored her, still walking to my car. I got out my keys, pressing the button to unlock it her rushed footsteps behind me. "Charlie, I'm sorry," Lucy was breathless.
"Lucy just drop it ok?" She's not sorry.
"No, I really am sorry for doing that to you and her. I was just mad that you kept it a secret. I would have understood."
"No you wouldn't." My eyes hard turning to her.
"I mean I wouldn't have liked it seeing you two all the time but I would have understood. No one likes a liar, Charlie." I lied to everyone, this is true but I can't look like the bad guy because I was in love with someone and her manipulating her ways to everyone. I softened my expression, looked away leaning my back against the car. "Let me make it up to you, buy me ice cream." I frowned, why would I take her to ice cream? "Or I can buy you ice cream. Anything you want?" She gave me a puppy dog look, it doesn't work on me but she wasn't gonna stop pestering me.
Rolling my eyes, I opened the two car doors fully saying "get in" in a cold tone. She grinned from ear to ear and skipped to the passenger side. I turned on the ignition, sighing as I placed the car in drive to move forward.
"This is gonna be so much fun!" She clapped her hands together in excitement. I don't know what she's so happy for, it's just ice cream. Oh boy, this is gonna be a long afternoon.
