Chapter 20: Is she gonna say yes?

Chapter 20: Is she gonna say yes?

Charlie:

I know what you're thinking: I'm possessive for transferring into my girlfriend's class, Well you're right, I am being possessive. I couldn't just sit there watch the girl I love with another guy all over her during lunch not noticing me fume the entire hour. I had to persuade my counselor to switch my history class to third period so I could have English in fifth period. She obliged quickly since my uncle is the principal but she tells me that if my grades slip she will switch me back. Like I care but I'm a straight 'b' student anyway. Sitting behind her made it better: the sweet smell of her perfume and luscious hair made me want to reach out and run my hand through it over and over but kept my hands on the desk paying attention to the teacher.

"Now class, we're gonna start reading 'Jane Eyre' tomorrow so I want you guys to be ready for it," the class groaned, I did as well, not wanting to read anything at all. "I will put you guys into partners to write an essay together by the end of the month to tell me your thoughts on the book how it applies to modern society today." The bell rang and the students dispersed, even the teacher.

Hannah in front with quick steps I grabbed her arm, turning her to face me. I locked the door so no one can come in. "What are you doing?" she whispered.

"I want us to talk," I said simply.

"Yeah we do, like why you're in my class?"

"To be closer to you."

"Charlie I thought we were supposed to stay away from each other during school."

"Technically we are, like a safe distance in class but we still get to see each other."

She sighed exasperatedly as she looked around the classroom, "So this is your way of being possessive?"

"Yes, especially from that douche Luke all over you," I answered with a frown.

"You already know his name and we wouldn't be in this mess if we just be public," she stressed, reaching for the doorknob but I stopped her gently holding her hot hand to mine.

"I've been thinking about it."

"Really?" Hannah queried, narrowing her beautiful eyes to me.

"You think me and you could be partners for our project tomorrow?" I smirked, changing the subject.

"Hoping for it," she gave me a small smile, I placed a small kiss on her lips and she left first before I made my exit from the classroom. Losing her to the crowd of students in the hallway I turned the opposite direction to the next class.

I have been thinking about it lately, I love being able to hold her against me during and after school "Bro!" Austin jumped on my back like a gorilla wanting a banana. I pushed him off my back, almost fell but he caught his balance.

"What the hell?" I spat harshly as he stood and laughed, seeing Ally shaking her head playfully at her boyfriend's shenanigans.

"Just loving life, my man," he put his arm around Ally and gave her a sloppy kiss on the mouth.

"Oh God," I moaned annoyed.

"Don't be mad because you don't have a girl to slobber all over," I do actually just not around you but I kept my words and said "no girl here is interesting enough."

"They should be easy enough though," Austin responded.

"Hey!" Ally hit him in the chest, he muttered out a "sorry" to her.

"Where's Max and Seth?" I asked him.

"I don't know, man. Am I their keeper?" He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.

"What about Lucy?"

"I think she's hooking up with her guy."

"Oh."

"Do you know about the dance?" Austin told me suddenly.

"What dance?" I questioned.

"The Autumn dance, pumpkins, hard cider and all that shit." I forgot all about that. I think Lucy was talking about it during lunch but zoned out when I was staring at Hannah with the creep pretending to be her boyfriend. He seemed shady to me somehow and someway but I gotta take Hannah's word for him being harmless.

"Dude, are you having a moment to yourself?!" Austin yelled while we were walking to our next class.

"What were you saying?" I shook my head from my thoughts.

"I said who are you going to take to the dance?" I don't even want to go to the dance, but I can ask Hannah for us to go and finally show her off.

"I don't know, maybe I'll just go stag and all the chicks could be begging to dance with me," I suggested jokingly.

"Smart move." We both fist bumped.

Ally rolled her eyes and muttered "idiots,' leaving us to her class, Austin and I were walking to ours, I spotted Hannah and the boy leaning over her, curling her hair with his index finger.

"So, are you going to the dance?" I heard him ask.

"I gotta hit the bathroom. Save me a seat," Austin told me.

"All right," I replied but made my attention back to Louis and Hannah.

"I was thinking if you want to go?" I sniveled my lip, inching closer to listen pretending I was on my way to class.

"Um," she stuttered nibbling her bottom. Is she gonna say yes?

"Charlie, hi!" A voice interrupted my thoughts seeing Madeline, a girl I hooked up with last year. I thought I made it clear to her that we were just a one-time thing.

"Hi Madeline," I deadpanned uninterested, but she didn't get the message when she brushed her finger gently on my arm.

"Have you heard about the autumn dance next week?" she bit her lip and green eyes filled with wonder.

"What about it?" I didn't make eye contact with her, still stealing glances at Hannah and Louis waiting for her answer.

"I was wondering since you don't have a date and I don't have a date, then you can go with me," she asked while shuffling her feet and finger brushing her brown ponytail trying to act innocent but I know she's not. She stripped for me the first time we made out at the party.

I sighed turning to her, "Madeline we hooked up once and you are sweet but-" before I finished I glanced once more to Hannah in my peripheral vision of her and Louis making out. That's her answer?!
