18|An almost perfect flight

"We both have our methods of eliminating problems."

"Well thank God you didn't use that method on my mum."

"What?" he chuckles. "I can't kill my girlfriend's mum that would be crazy."

"You don't have to call me that when we're out of character."

"Out of character? For as long as this mission lasts we're dating. You don't have to pretend you don't like it. You're my girl, okay?" Wow, I hate how that gave me butterflies. "Whatever," I mumble. "Aren't you supposed to be engaged for an arranged marriage or something?"

"Cassi I'm married already," he chuckles. Slowly, I turn to face him. "You're married?"

"Nope, I'm just kidding." Phew. Wait why am I phewing? "It doesn't necessarily have to be arranged though. As I am now, I don't need any allies."

"So you don't plan to get married?"

"What? You want to be my wife?"

Of course, he turns the tables on me. "Never mind," I mumble.

"To be honest I wouldn't mind that at all. You're cute and short so it will be easy to trap you in my arms and watch you struggle for a way out, tease you, dominate you in bed..." No, he didn't. "I know I would take good care of you and not just use you for sex and kids. That's the case with most arranged marriages... you don't get to be with the person you love."

I don't know, he sounds like he would be a very obnoxious husband. But still, he's hot, rich, caring, built. Hell, I can drop out right now if it means I'm getting married to him. I can already picture myself braiding his long silky hair while he lays in bed, shirtless and exhausted from work. Hehehe.

"But I'm sure you wouldn't like that Cassi... the stress of being associated with a mafia. You're a good girl, that life isn't meant for you," he states. "Plus I'm pretty sure your mum would bury me alive." Yeah, that's true but it could still work. It could still work? What is wrong with me?

"Y-Yeah I guess you're right..."

"But that doesn't have to stop me from being your first." I gasp and face the window, nearly butting heads with the glass. How do you even know I'm a virgin? Do I give off virgin vibes? Ugh, I'm sure I do. Still, he is such a pervert. Ace was right. "Cassi are you alright?" he asks and places a hand on my thigh.

I nearly jump. "Are you seriously going red over what I just said?" he laughs.

"I'm not going red," I snap.

"Then why are you trying to bury your face into that window? Look at me for a second."

I shake my head. "No."

"Cassi..." his hand slithers underneath my skirt. I squeal and slap his hand away. "Are you crazy!"

He chuckles at me. "Whoops... accident." It's my fault for deciding to wear a skirt for the first time in my life. Although I am wearing black pantyhose because it's extremely cold and I could never wear a skirt without something underneath. But what difference does that make if his hands can still go wherever they want?

"You are such a pervert."

"Oh, you just noticed?"

"I can swear Levi... if you try anything stupid again I will slap you in the face... focus on the road," I thunder. "Oh no... I'm so terrified Cassi please forgive me," he shudders, his sarcasm making my eye twitch. "I promise it won't happen again..." he reassures me and places a hand on my shoulder. Then he slides it down to my left bosom, squeezing it. "Wow... this is one of the softest I've ever laid my hands on."

•••

I've never been so relieved to exit a car. It was suffocating, being trapped in there Levi.

Pushing that aside, this hangar is breathtaking. It's impeccably clean, with polished floors and a subtle scent of vanilla in the air.

Click click click. From afar I spot someone marching down to us. "Mr Hargreaves," the man greets and they shake hands. "I've prepared the jet." He's the pilot. I can see that from his uniform. "Chicago isn't so far but I want to get there quick so I can have some time to relax," he explains to the pilot. "Oh and by the way this is my girlfriend," he yanks my arm, pulling me closer to him. "Pooks, say hi to... to... Uh..."

"It's Germaine, sir... I remind you every time we meet," the pilot states, annoyance laced in his tone.

"Don't you think I have better things to remember?" Levi states with an eye roll. "The bags are in the backseat," he wraps an arm around my shoulder and walks me down the line of jets until we get to the one that has its boarding stairs down. "Oh, we're getting in already?" I look at the ground. I hope I won't miss you. He leads me up the stairs and into the jet.

Sweet biscuits.

It has a modern interior with stylish couches and tables. It's very spacious and cozy, like a fancy living room in the sky! The couches are plush and inviting, and the tables are sleek and elegant. I dart in and jump on one of the couches. Mmm so cozy.

"Morning Mr Hargreaves." I lift my head and see a sexy flight attendant standing in front of Levi. Her shirt is so fitted that it's exposing a bit of her bra and her skirt stopped directly underneath her butt. I feel this uniform was customized by him. "Emily. I'm not impressed," he sighs, looking sober.

"Sir I-"

"I told you I didn't want to see your skirt like this by my next flight." Tell me about it. This skirt could use like ten more inches. "Find a way to make it shorter and do that quick." Shorter?

"Yes sir." She spins on her heels and scurries off. So what he means is he doesn't mind that his temporary girlfriend watched his pervy attitude play out on an innocent flight attendant. I feel like this is where I have to set our fake relationship boundaries. Time to insert the little acting experience I gained from those plays in kindergarten. "Wait just one minute!" I snap. The lady pauses and turns to me. "Levi... what do you mean she should make it shorter? Aren't we dating? Am I not enough for you?"

"Dating?" Emily rephrases.

"Yes, we're dating. And I wonder why he can't ask me to make my skirt shorter," I fume.

His eyes go wide. "C-Cassi what are you-"

"According to you Mr Hargreaves... we're dating until the mission is over. So I'm not just gonna let you goof around," I smirk. For the first since we met, I've rendered Levi speechless. But this is so unlike me. Where did all those words even come from? I didn't even know such statements could roll off my tongue. Oh my gosh, Margo was right. Levi is influencing me.

"Is that how it is?" he smirks. Okay, I take back everything I said. He looks so determined to turn my words against me. He takes some steps towards me and places his hands on my shoulders. "Very well."

"Mr Hargreaves- Uh I'm sorry if I interrupted something but the plane is ready for flight," Germaine informs us. "Alright then... sit down pooks," he leads me to the couch and sits me down. Then he leaves to one of the rooms further down a narrow passageway.

Okay Cassi this is happening. You're flying to Chicago while your mum is fast asleep and has no idea what she's going to wake up to.

But what if we crash? No, we can't crash I trust Germaine. Germaines are always trustworthy.

I didn't even notice when the stairs went up. So I'm locked in. There's no going back. Levi comes back and for the first time, I'm seeing him without a long, mysterious coat. He changed into a T-shirt and loose sweatpants. Which is why I can't stop staring at him. No, I don't want to look at what is visibly dangling behind the sweatpants although it's huge and difficult to ignore. But if he catches me staring at that, I'm a goner. So I stare at his arms instead because those are eye-catching too. His arms are muscular and he has so many tattoos, there's barely a trace of his skin.

"You good?" he asks and comes to sit next to me.

"Y-Yeah I'm good why would you assume I'm not?" I ask, letting out a nervous giggle. It's just that I'm sweating right now. It's extremely cold but I'm sweating.

"Um it was just a question but, okay." He leans back, folding his arms behind his head. Germaine walks into the room. "The plane is about to take off, please turn off your phones, sit back, and relax," he tells us before walking into the cockpit.

I look out of the window as the plane taxis out of the hangar and onto the runway, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. As the engine roars to life, I feel a surge of energy run through me.

As the plane accelerates down the runway, I press my back into my seat and watch as the ground falls away, the sensation of speed building around me.

Looking out the window, I marvel at the world shrinking beneath me, the buildings and roads transforming into miniature versions of themselves. This could be better than I imagined it would be. I close my eyes and ensconce myself on the plush couch.

Then I feel a sudden jolt. The plane begins rocking around. "L-Levi what's happening?" I ask as I squeeze his arm. "Huh? I guess it's the turbulence kicking in."

"T-Turbulence?" I rephrase as I try to ease myself from all the shaking. "What? You haven't been on a plane before?" he asks.

I shake my head, slightly embarrassed. "No wonder," he sighs. The shaking worsens with every second that passes. "L-Levi are you sure we're not going to crash? Germaine!" I yell, hoping he didn't pass out on the controls.

"Cassi behave. Everything is going to be fine."

"Please I want to get down," I shudder. "Is there a way I can get down? I feel sick."

"You really can't unless you're willing to jump out the window."

My breathing starts to spiral out of control. I'm going to throw up. "Levi I'm going to throw up."

"Baby girl you have to relax," he sighs. "Come here." He pats his lap, gesturing for me to sit on them. "No... I can't do that when I'm wearing a skirt." And you are wearing those sweatpants.

"What? You think I'll do something?" he laughs. "Even if I was planning to, those pantyhose won't let me so you have nothing to worry about," he reassures me. "Never mind," I mutter.

"You don't want to? Okay but if you keep screaming I will move to another chair."

I nod and squeeze my thighs. I'm fine. Everything is going to be fine. The plane jolts harder and I nearly fall off my seat. Immediately I jump on him and bury my face into his chest. He wraps his arms around me, his hand going up and down my back. "Seems you had no choice huh."

"I'm not used to this," I mutter sheepishly. "It's okay, I'm here." He plants a kiss on my forehead and squeezes me tighter.

"Better?" he asks. I nod into his chest. "Emily get a glass of water," I hear him say. "Yes sir," she answers and hurries off. I can't help but assume she's had sex with Levi. What else could happen when a pervert and a sexy flight attendant are alone in a jet with good air conditioning?

She comes back with the water and reaches the glass out to me. "I hope you're feeling better," she grins, her smile so wide that I'm starting to wonder if the water is poisoned. Perhaps she's flustered because she thinks I'm Levi's girlfriend. I nod and take the glass from her. "Thank you." I start gulping it down slowly. Then from the corner of my eye, I spot Levi smiling at me.

I impulsively spit the water out, every drop landing on Emily. I would have apologized if I wasn't coughing so hard.

"Are you okay?" he asks as he gently rubs my back. I feel so uncomfortable when people watch me eat or drink something. Like I bet I look like a squirrel gathering nuts in its mouth when I chew. Gosh, it's so embarrassing.

I glance at Emily, her malicious gaze shoving the apology down my throat. "Y-You bi-"

"Emily go clean yourself up," Levi states and adjusts me on his lap. "But she just... she just... never mind," she sighs and snatches the glass from me before walking away.

The shaking has stopped. I just noticed that but I don't want to get down from his lap. So I cuddle into his chest some more. He doesn't seem to mind at all. I think he's enjoying this 'cause he's been smiling at me throughout. Gosh, I feel so pretty right now.

It doesn't take long before I fall asleep though. His body is warm and very comfortable.

"Pooks."

"Pooks."

"Sweetheart."

"Babe."

"Darling."

"Cassi!"

"Hm?" I open my eyes. "There's a bedroom. I think you would prefer sleeping there." He tucks his arm beneath my knees and lifts me, carrying me into the coziest room I've ever seen. He places me on the bed and helps me take off my shoes. Then he pulls the duvet over me. "If you need anything tell Emily. The flight will be over before you know it."

Please no. I'm so comfortable here that I never want to leave this spot. "Okay," I reply and shut my eyes. I hear his footsteps as he exits the room. Now that I think about it I embarrassed myself earlier when the turbulence began. I was just so scared that I didn't realize it would eventually be something to cringe about. But I doubt Levi cares. All he wants is for me to be too comfortable. He's perfect. I smile into my pillow. Stop what you're doing to me.

•••

I feel a light shake on my shoulder. No, don't tell me it's time. "Cassi." I turn over and see Emily sitting beside me. My eyes widen. "Please don't kill me!" I yell, immediately realizing this is real life and I'm not in a nightmare where Emily came to get revenge on me.

"What?"

"Sorry... nightmare," I mutter.

"That's okay... I think you need to get up for a moment," she smiles. Gosh, this woman scares me.

"Are we in Chicago?" I ask. She shakes her head. "Nearly... but you need to get up." Why? I scoot off the bed and stretch my arms out. "Oh dear," I hear her mutter. I turn around and see a huge bloodstain on the white sheet.

My eyes widen as I pat my skirt for any wetness. No no no no no this can't be happening! Not here! "I- I... I'm so sorry, I didn't expect this to happen-"

"Shhhh... I always have an emergency tampon in my bag."

"Oh thank you... thank you so much." But my clothes aren't here. How the hell am I going to change out of these? Emily gets up and starts removing the sheets. "I can help you get to your luggage bag."

"Really?"

She nods. "Go wait in the bathroom. It's the last room down the hallway."

I quickly leave the room but pause at the doorway when I realize Levi could be roaming around. He's the last person I want to see right now. "He's asleep," Emily clarifies. Oh, thank God. How did she even know? I walk down the passage and into the bathroom, locking the door.

That was close. So close. Would Levi be mad if he found out I stained the sheets? Probably not. He would just tell me it's normal and there's no reason to feel embarrassed. When there is. I sit on the toilet and heave a sigh. Hurry up, Emily.

A few minutes later someone knocks on the door. My heart nearly jumps out of my chest. "Cassi open up, it's Emily." I quickly get up and unlock it. She comes in with folded clothes and the other necessities. "You can use the shower if you want," she tells me. "Just take off your clothes and put them on the sink."

"Thank you so much. I have no idea what I would have done if you weren't here."

"It's fine, really," she grins.

"You know... for a moment there I thought you didn't like me because of the way Levi was treating me... and how I spat all my water on you," I murmur.

She chuckles and stretches the clothes out to me. About to take them from her, she drops them on the floor. "Oops," she grins.

I feel that was very intentional. Immediately she corners me to the wall, slamming her hands close to my face. "Don't think, sweetheart. I hate you. I hate how he treats you. You are the first person I've seen who calls him by his first name. Like anyone else would be crazy to do that. And he is the cruelest person alive yet he cuddled you because of some little turbulence."

I turn away because her boobs are so close to my face that it's discomforting. Well, this is an unexpected turn of events. "Could you just mind your business? You have no idea what's going on between us."

"Oh, sweetie... I don't need an idea. You probably think you're so special. What did he tell you? That he wouldn't mind marrying you because you're small... cute..." That's exactly what he told me.

"Well think again! Women are throwing themselves at him and you think he would choose you? Little girl? Besides, being with him would destroy your self-esteem. He'll embarrass you. He'll cheat on you. He'll make you feel like nothing!"

I shake my head. "No. That isn't Levi."

She stares at me, speechless. Then she bursts into comical laughter. "Listen to me..." she aggressively cups my cheeks in one hand. "You're the one with no idea if you think he's a Prince Charming." She lets go of my face and backs away from me. Then without a word, she exits the room, leaving me to drown in my thoughts.

I feel like she was speaking from experience. Like Levi had done all those things to her in the past. And a small part of me believes everything she says. I've only known Levi for three days now so I can't just assume he's flawless. But the cruelest person alive? Maybe she just exaggerated there.

Ugh, what is wrong with me? I shouldn't even be giving a second thought about these things. It's not like I was planning to date him. Was I? He's just so attractive and I guess I couldn't resist the charm. But then again... there are plenty of other women he could be interested in. Why would he choose me?

I have to get rid of these feelings.

•••

I took a hot shower and went back to sleep. Not too long after that, we were already in Chicago. I was reluctant to leave the plane but what choice did I have?

So here I am again, sitting in a car. "Remind me how you got this car here."

"I got one of my men to bring it here yesterday," he replies. "Either that or I would've just bought one here."

"Bought one? I didn't know it was so easy to buy a car." Oh right, you're a billionaire.

"I see you changed."

I turn to him. "What?"

"Your clothes."

"Oh I just decided to do that... after I took a shower. It was really cold."

He chuckles. "Really." I feel like he knows something. But there's only one thing he could know to be acting this way and I don't want to believe that's the case here. "Yeah I mean the jet was chilly and I didn't want to catch a cold."

"Okay sweetheart," he smiles. "Why are you smiling like that?" I ask. "What? You don't like my smile?"

"It's a mischievous smile."

"I know what happened already," he states. I feel my stomach drop. "W- What are you talking about?" He starts laughing. "What do you think I'm talking about?"

"Ugh. Emily told you, didn't she," I mutter. Emily that bitch.

"It's the other way 'round. I mean I came to wake you up to ask if you were hungry. Then I saw the sheets. And I didn't want you to feel embarrassed, so I told Emily to break the news to you instead."

No way. I hide my face in my palms. "Why couldn't you just keep that to yourself?" I whine.

"I'm sorry, it was just so hilarious watching you feel like you successfully lied to me," he chuckles. "You can't lie to me, sweetheart."

The level of discomfort Levi makes me feel is concerning. I feel like he knows every detail about me.

"But I hope you enjoyed yourself," he smiles.

"Yeah... I did," I reply.

"Good because you'll enjoy this even more." He places his hand on my head and twists it to face out the window.

Wow.
