Chapter 6
(A/N): Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last posted a chapter, and I'm sorry about that, but I was a little busy. I'm going to try and get back on schedule for posting every Friday, but for now, updates may be a little off schedule, like how this is being posted on a Wednesday. However, thanks for 700 views! What I find really crazy is that I thanked you all for 600 views less than a week ago, and now it's at 700 views. So, 100 views in less than a week. To reward you all, here's the next chapter that you've all been waiting for!
Rainbow Steve turned towards his friends and waved. "Hello, I didn't see you guys there! Do you like my new look?" he asked, gesturing to his eyes. Yellow Steve shook his head slowly, still stunned by what he was witnessing, as everyone else was. "No? Well, that's just rude. Oh, and by the way, I can't believe you guys thought that my plan was a good one. I mean, that Red Steve didn't even stand a chance! You all are really dense, I don't understand why I was ever your friend."
Elder Blue Steve was the first person to come back to his senses. He glared daggers at Void Steve, Faceless, and Plague Steve, though he focused most of his anger on Plague Steve. "Stop controlling Rainbow Steve! This is just cruel."
Plague Steve pretended to think, tapping his chin. "Hmm... no. I'm having too much fun."
"And this is highly entertaining. I'm having a blast watching this unfold," Faceless added on. In his daze, Sabre noted that if Faceless had a face, a broad smirk would be adorning his lips right about now.
Mind Steve stared Faceless and Void Steve down. "You two were stalling! Weren't you?!"
"Maybe, maybe not. That doesn't matter at the moment. You all should be more worried with the outcome," Void Steve replied.
Rainbow Steve piped up. "I'm happy with how this is all turning out. Besides, I didn't like Galaxy Steve anyways." He formed a snowball in his hands and chucked it in Galaxy Steve's direction, who flinched when it hit him right in the face.
"Hey, that's cold!" he complained. "Both what you did and what you said!"
Rainbow Steve rolled his eyes, the green hue radiating from them glowing a bit stronger. "Well, guess what? I. Don't. Care."
Realizing what he witnessed, Sabre snapped out of his shock. "Holy mother of cheese, how is Rainbow Steve summoning snow?!" He started when he realized that Rainbow Steve was also hovering in midair. "And how is he flying?! He doesn't have his powers! He hasn't been able to fly in months, and hasn't summoned any ice for an even longer period of time!"
"Well, that's requires Plague Steve to give a long long, long long, longlonglonglong long explanation that I personally find very boring and dull," Faceless responded.
Plague Steve glared at Faceless. "You're just jealous."
"No I'm not!"
"Yes you are!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
Void Steve sighed. "Both of you, shut up! I didn't rescue you two from the Void just to have this happen."
"Fine," Faceless huffed.
Sabre just watched the exchange in disbelief. In all his time spent dealing with evil Steves, he's never seen anything like this. It reminded him of himself trying to manage Rainbow Steve and Galaxy Steve whenever they started bickering or behaving like children.
"Now that Faceless is done acting like a child, I can finally explain," Plague Steve stated, throwing shade at Faceless, who crossed his arms in exasperation. "A Steve's powers is kind of like their life force. It's their source of energy. If they don't have their powers, then they die. The more powers a Steve has, the more alive they are. That's why Steves with few powers are so weak. They're basically dying. But I know what you all must be thinking. 'If Steves need their powers to survive, then how has Rainbow Steve been alive this entire time, even though he's been powerless?' It's because he still technically has his powers. Steves that appear to be powerless still have some of their powers, but it's just the most simple, basic, primitive form of it that is keeping them alive. When Elemental Steve took Rainbow Steve's powers for the second time, he wasn't aiming on killing him. He just wanted to punish you two for even thinking of trying to betray him. So he took everything that wasn't required to keep Rainbow Steve alive, which left Rainbow Steve on the brink of death."
Sabre decided to interrupt Plague Steve here. "Wait, hold on a second, how do you know about this? You were removed from the timeline... I mean, trapped in the Void, when this happened. Do you have access to Rainbow Steve's memories or something?"
Plague Steve sighed. "No, sadly I do not. That would be very useful, but a Steve's powers don't contain their memories. It's just an energy source that, depending on the Steve, can be manipulated in different ways."
"All three of us know what was going on between you and Elemental Steve because of Memory Steve. He was watching you guys for a while before making his appearance for the first time, trying to study you and how you act and think," Void Steve added on.
Galaxy Steve butted in. "That totally isn't creepy whatsoever."
"Whatever," Plague Steve said, brushing off Galaxy Steve's comment. "Now, if you guys want to find out anymore, you need to stop interrupting me." He looked around at the Steves and the lone player in front of him. No one decided to speak up because they wanted to take advantage of Plague Steve's evil rant that all evil Steves seemed to go on at least once where they revealed all their plans and secrets. "Okay, you're all quiet. Good. Now, where was I? Oh yes. Steves and their powers. So you all now know that Rainbow Steve still technically has his powers. Well, that little bit of primitive power that resides in all Steves is very stubborn. It's very difficult to destroy. You, Sabre, have learned from your experiences that the only way to truly kill a Steve is to kill them in an enclosed environment, but you've never learned why. The primitive power is the answer to that question. If a Steve is out in the open when they are killed, that power can escape and be used later to revive them, but in an enclosed area, the power gets destroyed as well, making it practically impossible to come back to life. But, as with everything, there are exceptions and special circumstances. Rainbow Steve was killed by Positive and Negative Steves in an enclosed environment, but since he's the only Steve of his kind and since you provided enough of a connection to him, I was able to find a negligible amount of his power remaining and amplified it. This was only possible because I'm Plague Steve, and since plagues and infections mess with a Steve's energy and life force, I basically can manipulate a Steve by controlling their life force, which includes their powers. And since Rainbow Steve just barely has his powers, I can amplify it while manipulating his actions to make his powers come out full fledged."
Everyone stood still, pondering this overload of knowledge. Sabre spoke up first. "But... but how did you figure this all out? You never knew any of this when you were in the Rainbow Town with us."
"Well, when Elemental Steve had frozen Faceless and I in place in his Hall of Dangerous Beings before he 'removed us from the timeline,' I could hear everything he said to you and Rainbow Steve. And I still remember everything he said about me." Plague Steve made a face like he was oh so important and wise, as though he was mockingly attempting to imitate Elemental Steve. Sabre knew that he would have also imitated Elemental Steve's deep voice if he could actually speak rather than just talk in chat. "'Plague Steve was something of a disappointment to me. He had so much potential. His powers were far beyond many other Steves'.... And he only simply scraped the surface of what he could accomplish.... He simply just didn't understand his power.' Well, hearing that just added more insult to injury, and I became determined to figure out what I could actually do with my powers. I took his words to heart and when Void Steve came across us and freed us from the Void, I asked him to help me figure out what more my powers can actually do. And now you all get to see the end result."
Near the end of Plague Steve's monologue, Sabre secretly began muttering to his friends. "Okay, change of plans. I'll try and find the Plague Shrine that must be nearby so we can revert Rainbow Steve back to normal. Galaxy Steve, you fight Void Steve. Blue Steve, you fight Rainbow Steve since you're the Steve here that knows him the best. Mind Steve and Purple Steve, you two can fight Plague Steve. And Yellow Steve, you fight Faceless. Is this plan good with everyone?" He looked at the Steves around him, who all nodded.
As Plague Steve took a breath to begin another paragraph, Void Steve held out his hand to halt him. "Plague Steve, you've said enough." He stared his enemies down as he began summoning some of his dark energy, dark mist forming in his fist. "I think it's time we had some fun, shall we?"
"Everyone, start the plan!" Sabre yelled, booking it towards the staircase as all of his friends began hovering in midair. But then, all of a sudden, there was no ground beneath Sabre, and he plummeted towards the ground.
Edit: I had to edit this chapter because I found something in my notes for Chapter 6 that I forgot to include, and since it might be very important later on, I had to include it here. If you're looking for the edit, it's in paragraph 27 (not including the A/N at the beginning).
