Writers Tag!

I am way behind on tags! So here's one that I was tagged to do forever and a half ago.

Tagged by Ithildaeforever

1. When did you start writing? Only this passed summer so I am still very new to it.

2. What was the first book that you read (or wrote) that made you cry? Oh gosh, I don't know...

3. Does writing energize or exhaust you? Energize! When I'm writing, I have complete control and feel like I'm queen of the world! Until I spell a word so wrong that spell check looks at me like I'm speaking a different language. :P

4. What is your writing kryptonite? Music that I like to sing along too. (I have to chose songs that I can't sing very well) And makeup. I don't like the feel of foundation and I can't concentrate with it on. Eye makeup doesn't bother me though.

5. Do you try to be original or deliver to the readers what they want? Original for sure.

6. What other authors are you friends with and how do they help you become a better writer? I won't list them all here, (Y'all know who you are!) but they have really encouraged me to keep writing and to get better at it!

7. It you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be? Don't be afraid to put words on a page.

8. What was the best money you ever spent as a writer? Notebooks! I love them! My precious...

9. What's your favorite under-appreciated novel? Rangers apprentice. No spoilers please!!! I'm only on the seventh book!

10. How many unpublished and half finished books do you have? Several. Though some of them are just ideas that I still need to put on paper.

11. What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book? I research anything I don't know a lot about for the most part. As for how long it takes me, it depends because I tend to research as I'm writing instead of before.

12. What's the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex? Their thought process.

13. How do you select the names of your characters? It depends on what I'm writing. It I'm writing LOTR fan fiction, then I research. But for my own work, I like to make names up or sometimes they'll just come to me.

14. Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find? I can't say for sure yet, but I might... who knows! :D

15. What was your hardest scene to write? (From any books or stories you have written) !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! For Return of the Orcs. Thranduil's funeral. I'm still not quite happy with it and will probably have to rewrite most of that scene.

16. What is the most difficult part of your artistic process? Finding the right music.

17. How long on average does it take you to write a book? Um... I haven't finished one as of yet so I'm not sure.

18. Do you believe in writers block? Yes.

19. Which one of your characters do you feel the closest too? (Out of any that you have created) Um, probably my newest character: Garran. He's the main character in the novel I'm currently working on.

20. What is one piece of advise that you would give to other aspiring writers? Don't sit around waiting for an idea to come to you. Just start typing! You never know what you may come up with.

I tag whoever wants to do this!
