James's POV:
I slouched back in my chair, legs spread out wide, while chewing gum. The teacher's voice blabbered on and I found myself nearly drifting off to sleep, my head bobbing to the side as exhaustion threatens to overtake my senses.
Seriously, how could anyone find this stuff interesting?
I glanced around the room, catching the eyes of a few girls who were practically drooling over me. It was understandable, I was pretty good looking...
I turned my gaze back to the front and leaned back, stretching my legs out under the desk, before giving his chair a kick. The jolt made him jump, his pen skidding across the page. He turned around, wide-eyed and flustered, looking for the culprit.
I put on my best innocent face, raising an eyebrow. "What's your problem, Snow Flake?" I sneered, loud enough for the guys around me to snicker.
Noah's cheeks flushed a light pink, and he quickly turned back to his notebook, mumbling something under his breath.
I chuckled, a small smile tugging at the corner of my lips.
What a wuss...
I leaned forward, resting my chin on my hand, and watched him. I was close enough to see the back of his neck turning red.
Hmm...
*
The rain was coming down in sheets now, drenching everything in sight. I revved my bike's engine, the sound reverberating through the empty night street. And that's when I spotted him, standing under the awning of some closed shop, looking like a drowned rat.
I honked my horn, startling Noah but effectively gaining his attention.
"Hey, albino! You're gonna catch pneumonia out here," I shouted over the roar of the rain.
"I'm waiting for a taxi," he replied, his voice steady but lacking conviction.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head, water flying off my helmet. "Yeah, and you'll be waiting all night. Just get on the bike. I promise I won't bite."
He debated for a moment longer, then sighed, stepping out from under the awning. I handed him my spare helmet, watching as he hesitated before putting it on.
Noah climbed onto the bike, his arms wrapping around my waist. I could feel his warmth through my jacket, and it sent my heart racing. I revved the engine, trying to focus on the road ahead and not the fact that he was so close, his breath warm against my neck.
