Shu's POV

Reiji has been so annoying about my 'uselessness' more than usual lately and it's began to get on my nerves.

I was lying on the couch in the entrance hall and tried to sleep. I wasn't very successful as my brothers were being noisy again.

I was listening to Moonlight Sonata but...I wasn't satisfied with it like usual. It felt...empty and boring.

Unlike hers. I took out the head phones and remembered her playing. I...want to hear her play again...just once.

Suddenly, I felt weight on top of me appear. I didn't move as I was too lazy and didn't care. I smelled a familiar scent which got my attention immediately.

She's just full of surprises, isn't she? I felt her beginning to get off of me and I opened my eyes as I pulled her back down by her arm.

They first thing I saw was that she was facing away from me while sitting on my waist. She turned towards me and her eyes met with mine.

Her golden eyes that held a dangerous secret. A secret I wanted.

I continued to observe her impassively and got lost in her appearance. Suzuki Kei...what makes you so special for this to happen to someone like me?

She pulled her arm from my grip and tried to punch me. On reflex, I raised my hand in front of my face and felt her fist land in it.

She tried to pull away but my grip kept her from doing so. She gave up trying to get free and aimed another punch at my face. I caught that one as well and tightened my hand around hers.

A slight smirked appeared on my face. "So...What are you going to do now?" He said with a slight smirk.

Her only response was a blank face, unsurprisingly. She reeled her head back and then launched forward in a way that would have smack our heads together painfully.

She missed as I had ducked my head to the side. Will she just calm down? She's making a big commotion for nothing.

Swiftly, I released her hands and held her down to my chest in a pinning fashion. I had one hand on the back of her head while the other was wrapped around her waist.

She tried to free herself but my grip was relentless. She quit struggling and laid calmly in my arms. What, did she give already?

I gazed down and noticed that she was only looking at the side as if she was comfortable. You'd think she'd give more of a fight.

I closed my eyes and relaxed back into the couch. A few minutes passed in silence and it felt like time never moved.

I felt sleep pulling at me again and without realizing it, my arms loosened slightly.

Right as I was about to fall unconscious, she sat up to the point where she was straddling my waist.

I was about to grab her but she didn't move which stopped me from doing so.

After a while of her just sitting on top of me, I felt her begin to slide off of me. On instinct, I opened my eyes and my hands grabbed onto her waist to keep her in place.

She was looking down at me with her typical vacant expression and asked, "Really?"

Yes, really. I didn't say a verbal response to her and flipped us so that she was beneath me.

Her expression didn't change even as I moved my face closer to hers and lowered my body.

Because, I'm sure she would have had my head if she had the chance, I quickly wrapped my arms around her being and laid on top of her.

My weight caused her to sink further into the couch and my head rested on top of hers.

I lifted my head just enough so that my lips were grazing her ear.

"Don't try to escape. It's impossible." My voice was low to the point any normal human would have heard nothing and only felt my breath.

She didn't even blink. What is it going to take for her to react to me? I just stared her and an idea popped into my head that I was certainly interested in.

"Oi, let go if your not going to do anyth-" She was cut off by my lips meeting hers. I repositioned myself to get a better angle at her mouth.

Another minute passed and I was getting irritated. The least she could do is respond when being kissed by me. She hadn't even moved a millimeter since I began kissing her.

After a few more seconds, she gently laid her hands on my chest and I felt her relax under me. Finally. I smirk in the kiss and drop my hands to her waist.

I suddenly felt my bottom lip pierced and I was shoved roughly. I landed on the ground hard and groaned. I looked back at her and found her sitting up.

Her eyes were glowing and bloody fangs could be seen through her slightly parted lips. She stood up and began walking away. She turned her head to the left and spit red out on the ground.

"Oh look, I escaped." Without another word, she disappeared and I was surrounded by silence once more. I sat up and licked my bottom lip which healed immediately.

D*mn. I teleported to my room and laid on my bed. She's more difficult than I thought.

I quickly drifted off to sleep unaware of a seething albino sibling who had witnessed everything.

Kei's POV

After I had shadowed back to my room, I rinsed my mouth out for a good 10 minutes.

Once I was done, I exited the bathroom and dropped onto my bed. I breathed out a sigh and raised my phone to my eyes to see the time.

Well, d*mn. It's only 8 p.m. The past hour was so d*mn tiring. I decided to go back to sleep again even though it had only been an hour since I woke up and closed my eyes.

30 minutes had passed and I would have been asleep if it wasn't for the odd noises happening next door.

I growled and rolled off the bed. I exited the room and walked to the door next over.

I kicked it open and began to yell, "Keep it dow-"

I didn't finish my sentence as the sight before me scarred me for life. A very naked Laito hovered above an equally naked girl that I had gladly never seen before.

They didn't seem to notice my entrance and continued their little fun.

I immediately shut the door on that sh*t and left to go back to my room. After I turned around, I was faced with Reiji standing right in front of me.

"Kei-san, you must come to the main hall immediately. A package from Karlheinz has arrived addressed to you." He teleported away and I shadowed back down to the entrance hall.

Once I did, I found that I wasn't the only one who was there. All six leeches were present as well, even Laito who was thankfully fully dressed.

Everyone but Shu, Reiji and Laito looked annoyed from being forced to be here at that moment.

A single dark square box was resting on the center table with a blank white card beside it. Let's get this over with.

I walked over to the table and picked the package up. I opened the card and read the message.

Dear Kei,

                I hope another year on this earth has been filled with joy and happiness. I wish for an eternity
                of heartfelt years in your existence. So I say this with genuine emotion, Happy Birthday.

                 Also, here's a little gift from me. It will be very useful in the future.

"What's the date today?"

"September 7th." Was Reiji's response.

I flicked the box open with one hand and loosely held the card in the other. A ring stared back at me and shined in the light.

It was designed in a way that I had never seen before. It was silver with a thick black band in the middle and an odd silver marking was wrapped all the way around.

This man doesn't know when to quit. I sighed and shut the box. The card was snatched from my hand and was looked over by a confused Subaru.

"It's your birthday?!"

"Apparently."

"Why didn't you say anything?!" He was to worked up to even notice that the card was taken Shu.

"...I forgot."

"How the h*ll do you forget your own birthday?!"

"Who cares?"

"Well, you should have at least told me!"

"And, you would care why?"

"Because!...B-Because...uh, um...DAMMIT JUST BECAUSE!" His became pinker and pinker as his lack of reason became more evident.

"Lower you voice, Subaru." Reiji scolded.

"Tch. Whatever." And, with that he disappeared.

"Well, since that is resolved, you are all dismissed." Reiji said and walked off. Everyone else but Shu teleported without another thought; leaving me in silence.

I didn't pay him any attention and shadowed back to my room.

I threw the box into a random drawer and once again, I dropped onto my bed but this time I stayed conscious and thought.

My birthday. Another year in this merciless world and unfortunately many more to come. After that, I just stared at the ceiling absently until I heard my phone ding.

I grabbed it and read the message.

Shiro: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEI-CHAN!!!! Come to the park so we can see the lucky birthday girl! Ryo's been antsy all day so don't keep us waiting to long!

I just can't get a break today. At first I was going to ignore him like usual but another message came in not even a minute later.

Shiro: If your a** isn't here in 5 seconds, I drag you here by force~. \(^~^)/

Dammit. I immediately shadowed over to the park I met up with Ryo before coming here and was instantly tackled by the one and only bra- I meant Shiro.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEI!!!!" He shouted in my ear.

I kicked him off of me and stood up. Shiro stood as well like the hit didn't effect him.

"Ryo, come on out! Stop being so shy!"

"Oh, shut up will yah?! And, I'm not shy, dumba**."

"Then give Kei-chan a hug." Ryo slightly blushed from his words and couldn't find a good reason to refuse.

"I, um, I-I would but I'm sick and I don't want to get her sick as well. Yeah...that's why."

"Sure, anyway Kei-chan I have big plans for your birthday party and..."

Shiro was cut off by the sudden feeling of bloodlust directed towards us. A fog began to fill in the park and covered our feet...This is not going to end pretty.

All of our heads snapped towards a certain direction as we heard a pair of footsteps become louder and closer.

I saw a shadowy figure emerge from the trees and it became more recognizable at it neared.

Why? He's not even supposed to be on this continent. So why is he here?

He stopped walking when he was about 15 meters away from us. He smiled and looked me directly in the eyes.

"It's been a while, sister." My ears was filled with the voice I couldn't despise more and I sighed.

"Unfortunately, it wasn't long enough, brother."
